MICHAEL ROTMAN PROJECT MRP

I called Michael Rotman in February 2016 after a drunk friend decided he had "no choice" but to bust down my back door in order to retrieve his cell phone. There was significant damage to the door, door frame, and interior wall of my 90+ year old house and everything needed to be fixed & replaced. First of all, Michael's guys were able to come out on very short notice (called Saturday, came out on Monday) to temporarily fix the door and frame so that it could be closed and locked while the new door was on order. The new door has now been installed and I couldn't be happier. There was a bit of custom work required to fit a modern sized pre-hung door into the original non-standard opening, but they were able to make everything look like it was original to the house. They were also able to completely rebuild the interior door trim with new wood that perfectly matches the original trim. The attention to detail has been impressive - everything from the fit and finish of the door to the repair and painting of the interior walls has been top-notch. I would not hesitate to recommend Michael Rotman to anyone needing any kind of work done on their house.

The quote was good, I liked him, and I think he would've done a good job. Somebody else referred me over to another guy, yeah, so I didn't use him. Like I said, I probably should have. I think he would've done a better job from talking to him. He seemed very honest and that he knew what he was doing. I felt very confident that he would've done a good job.

MRP did a great job on everything and we are very satisfied. Michael worked very well with our architect and always got the proper permits. There were so many unforeseen problems and challenges during construction, but Michael came up with excellent solutions for everything that arose and was also able to make improvements to certain areas (always consulting us first) on the blueprints. All the employees were always courteous and punctuality was never an issue. Only because I am somewhat handy, I installed the hardwood floor, kitchen cabinets and painted. Otherwise, I would've hired MRP for those tasks as well. In addition to all the above, there were instances in which I was perhaps not the easiest client to deal with, but Michael always maintained his professionalism and always did what he could to accomplish excellent results.

We left for a week of vacation in December 2011. During that week, Michael and his crew came in and installed a new set of basement stairs. We came back to a completely clean house (well, as clean as we left it, anyhow), and we never would have known anyone was here were in not for the new set of stairs leading into our basement. Mid-February, our schedules aligned - along with that of the cabinet company through which we chose to order the cabinets - and work began. The kitchen was gutted down to the studs, the floor leveled. They moved the refrigerator into the dining room and sealed off part of the dining room so that the door between that room and the kitchen could be moved. They revealed and removed a hidden staircase. We were quite particular about our styles, and ended up ordering our sink, faucet, microwave, and trim kit online. Michael kept us on task, making sure we ordered what we needed on time and being quite patient and accommodating with our quirky obsessiveness. The job could not have been easy working with our cabinet people and a granite installer that he doesn't usually work with, but Michael took it all in stride. He coordinated schedules and kept the whole process moving along so that the kitchen was fully functioning within five weeks. The cabinets themselves were installed by the cabinet company, and the installer's available date actually moved up three days. Michael and his crew were ready. They had the room prepped, electrical installed, hood venting run, walls drywalled, mudded, taped, and primed before the installer came. There were a few cabinets that did not come in immediately, and once they did arrive, he came back promptly and installed them. As is apt to happen, we kept adding to the scope of the project - you know, and quot;while you have that wall openand quot; - and he made sure to keep us apprised of how our choices would affect the overall price of the project. He never pressured us to choose one option or another, but offered his expert advice when asked. My only hesitation in recommending him so highly is that he'll become too busy to help us in the future :)

He was honest and prompt. He did a variety of different projects. He did good work and followed through on his commitments. It was a positive experience.

I like them for their values, their price, and their reliability. They are thorough, creative, and work with the customer.

The quality of the work was very good, and Michael helped me out by fixing some mistakes that a previous painter had made. Clean-up was not great: dust from sanding was left on windowsills and closet floors; footprints in the dust were visible in some places. I do think, though, that had I called to tell him this he would have come to fix the problem.

This work was done very professionally, quickly and for a reasonable price. All the quotes were right-on. Michael is attentive with his work. Many walls ended up with 3, some with 4 coats of paint at minimal extra cost after asking me to okay it. This was to ensure a smooth and clean job on this older home. I am extreamly happy with the work and enjoyed having these 3 men in my home for a week. They cleaned up every evening and were respectful of my needs.
