Description of Work: NOTE: this is TWO reviews In May of 2011, Jeff removed and reused the aluminum siding on one wall of our livingroom that had water and mold damage from ice dams. He removed the siding so carefully that it could all be reused, except for the window trim, which he replaced and matched. Once the siding was off, he removed and replaced the plywood sheathing, using using exterior grade plywood, sealed with BIN (Low toxicity.)The old fiberglass insulation was removed and discarded and the cavity was disinfected with Benefect (Low toxicity) to destroy mold. He then tested several areas with a mold test kit, and sealed it all with BIN. We had had a mold abatement company work on the wall from inside the house, with poor results, but Jeff's work took care of the mold problems. Because of allergies and chemical sensitivities, he used low/non-toxic products and was very sensitive to our needs. In May 2012, Jeff and his crew dug under the living room in order to insulate the floor (a thermometer on the floor in the winter registered 43 degrees!) and replace the furnace ducts, which leaked and had never been strapped. The only way to get into this crawl space was to dig from the outside. The so-called crawl space insulating companies we contacted were uninterested in taking on this job. I had gone to Jeff for a referrral, but he was up for the challenge, and took it on - nasty job that it turned out to be. Instead of a 24 inch clearance under the floor, there was only seven inches, so Jeff and his guys had to dig the whole 22 X 14 foot area out by hand to get access. Plus, the original builder had left construction debris under there, all of which had to be dragged out and disposed of. Plus the fiberglass insulation had swagged down and was moldy and filthy and had to be removed and disposed of. Once all this was done the underside of the floor and joists were treated with Benefect for mold and once it was dry, sealed with BIN. Jeff did research on non-toxic insulation and we settled on non-toxic insulation made from recylced blue jeans which was not only fastened conventionally but secured with wire netting (hardware cloth) to exclude mice. He installed metal furnace ducts, sealed the joints, and wrapped them with non-toxic formaldehyde-free insulating wrap. To repair the hole in the block made to access the space, Jeff called in a mason who did an amazing job putting in new block, a vent, and parging for good measure. We had removed all the landscape plants, but when they dug, the guys put all the topsoil on a tarp and saved it so that when they filled the hole, the topsoil was replaced, ready for the landscape plants to go back in. (We did that ourselves, because I wanted to rearrange the plants, and had some new ones to add.)

Description of Work: Jeff and an assistant installed exterior aluminum trim/waterproofing around a small (24" X24") window that we had installed.

Description of Work: Replaced WHOLE roof for our house ! It was after the hurricane.

Description of Work: ROOF REPLACEMENT - Jeff, the owner, came out a week earlier and assessed the roof and said that they could do the job for the amount that my insurance company had issued. We set a date for the next week because I had to remove a tree first that was hanging over the roof. The roof was replaced while I was at work and my retired neighbors were quick to tell me how very hard the roofers had worked. They removed the shingles and tar paper, installed ice shield along the eves, replaced drip edge and step flashing and replaced shingles with 25 year Owens Corning.

Description of Work: Jeff solved a problem that was about ready to destroy my living room wall. I have a slate roof and it is sometimes very difficult to diagnose when a problem occurs. Other roofing companies had looked at it and either were not interested or had no clue as to the problem. Jeff and his crew not only properly diagnosed it as a faulty vent stack but replaced and repaired as needed. My living room is ready to paint. I also had Jeff replace two gutters. This young man is a true artisan. If you have a slate roof that needs someone that knows what they are doing, call Jeff.
