There was no guarantee on their work. They went through my outside deck, and tore out drywall to get to the wall and they don't repair any of that. They tell you that ahead of time, but it still causes problems.

I want to start by saying Jeff was exceptional. He was very professional and a good person. He came by give me the presentation, and although they were the highest priced I was going to go with them. Mainly because of Jeff. I liked him because he didn't talk bad about other companies and did not try to force me into getting the work done. The problem arose because there was an error in pricing, and they would not honor my original price. Jeff came back out to my house and we talked about it he said there was nothing he could do about the price. He called his boss and since I would not budge off the original price they finally decided to honor the price, but it was too late. I felt as if they did not want my business or they would have honored the original quote. On top of that the manager didn't come out to smooth things over when the error was made. I he would have came out they would have had the job. Overall my experience was good though. Jeff is the man, give him a raise!!!!!!!!!!

As with our previous experience with J & D Basements everything went well. We called them on a Monday after noticing over the weekend that water was coming in a new area of our basement. They were able to have someone out within a few hours. We were given an estimate upfront and that was honored. The workmen arrived on time and were careful to protect the areas of our finished basement that were not being worked on. They were polite and did an excellent job of cleaning up.

The salesman was much better than the previous rep. who gave me a gloom & doom presentation. The salesman knew his stuff, but there would've been so much demo and repositioning of pipes that it kind of scared me. I figured that there's got to be a company who can do the complete job without completely destroying my basement. Behind the glossy brochures and snazzy laptop presentation was a price that blew me away. The salesman prefaced his estimate by stating that they are not the cheapest in the industry, and boy he didn't lie. The estimate was for over $16k for the basic waterproofing services. This was more than twice the amount offered by the company we selected for the same services. Though I have no doubt that J&D can do a great job, paying that amount seemed crazy. I guess they have to pay for all the flashy commercials & brochures somehow. I couldn't bring myself to go with J&D for my basement.

I called J&D in a bit of a panic when I ''sloshed'' into my basement one morning. They were one of two companies that I called and they were the first to return my call with the offer of immediate help. My sump pump had failed and water had flooded my basement. I had just put new flooring down and I wanted help fast. J&D came out in one hour, replaced my pump, and that afternoon had all of the fans going and I was on my way to a dry basement. Because of their quick response, my carpet was saved and all I had to replace was the padding. The basement smells fine and I have no evidence of ever having water. I can't thank all of them enough. Tom the owner, and all of his employees were pleasant to deal with and definitely made a difficult situation MUCH easier. I would use them again and I would recommend them again and again.

Initially I was impressed with the company's attempts to service us quickly, given that our basement flooded and we needed this addressed quickly so as to prevent mold. However, the company then dropped the ball and after a week of still not fixing our problem, I called to say that we would not be using them.

EVERYTHING WENT VERY SMOOTHLY; FROM THE INITIAL MEETING AND ESTIMATE, TO HAVING THE WORK COMPLETED. WE'VE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. THERE IS NO FURTHER WATER IN OUR BASEMENT.

First class operation all the way. From the first inspection, through completion and after the sale warranty service, J&D is the best in the business. It pains me to no end to spend that much money on a basement, but the health of a home starts with its foundation. I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome and know that this investment will pay both short term and long term dividends with improved living and storage space. Since we are renovating a circa 1925 home, all of the improvements we're making above the basement are made with confidence knowing if we were to ever resell, there will be no issues with the quality of the foundation. Beyond the investment side of things, the new improved space adds several hundred feet of clean, dry usable space. We love it!

They were very conscientious of my schedule and did estimates on my schedule and did the work quickly and competently. They also placed plastic on their walking path so they wouldn't track mud in my house. Also, they damaged my water main but quickly called a plumber to have it fixed at their expense. They were also very friendly.

Wes Martin evaluated my cellar/basement and helped me to decide not to pursue waterproofing at this time. The estimates that I received from other companies would not achieve the desired result and would be quite expensive. He helped me determine that the cost to have the job done right versus the benefit would not be worth the cost to me at this time. I appreciated his honesty.

The cost was reasonable and I am well satisfied with the work. The piled-stone foundation in this older home is affected by water differently than the block material that other waterproofers are mostly used to. J&D demonstrated their understanding of this and tailored their solution to the situation. The guarantee they offer helped convince me, in spite of my feelings that salesman Pat Kirby was somewhat abrasive. They have a quite reasonable financing option.

THEY DIDN'T WATERPROOF THE WINDOW WELL SO IT LEAKED. WE COULDN'T DECIDE WHO SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. IN THE END THEY DID PAY. ALSO, DURING CONSTRUCTION, A REFRIGERATOR POWER LINE IN THE BASEMENT WAS HIT BY A NAIL, WE HAD TO HAVE SOMEONE ELSE COME.

NO REAL COMMENTS EXCEPT THAT I WOULD NOT TRY AND CONTACT J & D AGAIN FOR ANY WORK BECAUSE THEY DID NOT RESPOND TO MY FIRST REQUEST FOR AN ESTIMATE.

ED MEYER ARRIVED ON TIME FOR OUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. HE OFFERED A SOLUTION FOR THE PROBLEMS THAT WE WERE WANTING REPAIRED. I DID NOT SELECT THEM BECAUSE I FELT THAT THEIR PRICE WAS TO HIGH AND THAT THEIR SOLUTION WAS NOT OF THE TYPE THAT I THOUGHT WAS CORRECT FOR MY SITUATION. WE DECIDED TO GO WITH ANOTHER COMPANY BECAUSE I FELT THAT AFTER INTERVIEWING MANY COMPANIES FOR THE JOB, THE ONE I SELECTED OFFERED MORE FOR THE MONEY SPENT. I DID LIKE THE WINDOW WELL SUN HOUSES THAT THEY HAD TO OFFER, HOWEVER I COULD NOT AFFORD THEM.

I CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT J.D. BASEMENT SYSTEMS. AFTER CONTACTING 4 OTHER COMPANIES IN THE PAST YEAR(1 OF WHOM TOLD ME I NEEDED A DEHUMIDIFIER AND THE OTHER THREE WHO WANTED TO DIG EITHER OUTSIDE OR INSIDE TO THE TUNE OF $4,500 TO $7,000), J.D. BASEMENT SYSTEMS GAVE ME THE SOLUTION THAT MADE THE MOST SENSE AND WAS THE MOST COST EFFECTIVE. THE SALESMAN (I BELIEVE HIS LAST NAME WAS KUHN), WAS FRIENDLY, PROFESSIONAL, HONEST AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HIS SOLUTION (WITHOUT ME TELLING HIM MY THOUGHTS) WAS THE SAME AS MINE - RE-ROUTE THE GUTTERS AWAY FROM THE FOUNDATION AND PUT SEALANT ON THE WALLS. WORK WAS COMPLETED AS PROMISED. BASEMENT LEFT CLEAN AND ORGANIZED. IT HAS RAINED QUITE A BIT SINCE THE WORK WAS COMPLETED, AND MY BASEMENT IS COMPLETELY DRY. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY FOR ANY BASEMENT WATERPROOFING ISSUES ANY ANGIE'S LIST MEMBER MIGHT HAVE. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

THE REP. THAT CAME WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND PLEASANT. I THOUGHT THEY WERE VERY EXPENSIVE. I CAN'T COMMENT ON THE QUALITY OF THE WORK BECAUSE I HAVE NO WAY OF TELLING. WE HAD TO CALL THEM TO COME BACK AND CLEAN UP SINCE WE WERE NOT SATISFIED. THEY DID COME BACK THE NEXT DAY. THEY GAVE US A THIRTY YEAR WARRANTY.

I THOUGHT THEY WERE PRETTY EFFICIENT AND THEY SEEMED PRETTY KNOWLEDGEABLE.

INITIALLY, WE HAD SOME MISUNDERSTANDINGS WITH J&D. WE DROPPED THE ISSUE FOR A WHILE BUT IT CAME UP AGAIN WHEN THEY CAME OUT TO DO A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE ON OUR TWO SUMP PUMPS. UPON HEARING THAT WE WERE NOT SATISFIED WITH THE PREVIOUS WORK, J&D PROMPTLY PURSUED THE ISSUE AND SCHEDULED THE REPAIR. WE APPRECIATED THEM RECTIFYING THE SITUATION.

J & D BASEMENT SYSTEMS DECLINED TO OFFER THEIR SERVICES FOR WORK UNDER A BASEMENT FLOOR SLAB, OR OFFER ALTERNATIVE SOLUTIONS.

HE WASN'T THE FRIENDLIEST OF PEOPLE. HE DID NOT GIVE ME A WRITTEN ESTIMATE WITH SPECIFICS LIKE OTHER COMPANIES. WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT THE ESTIMATE HE SAID I SHOULD LOOK IT UP ON HIS WEB SITE .

THEY REVIEWED THE RECOMMENDATIONS THEY MADE ABOUT A WALL THEY DID NOT DO WORK ON WHEN THEY DID ONE WALL IN MY BASEMENT. THEY FELT THAT THE WALL WAS IN GOOD SHAPE, BUT WOULD BE HAPPY TO BRACE THE WALL THEY RECOMMENDED NO WORK ON TO PREVENT ISSUES IN THE FUTURE. THIS WAS DONE COMPLETELY UNDER WARRANTY.

VERY GOOD. GOOD COMMUNICATION THROUGHOUT PROJECT. TIMELY COMPLETION OF PROJECT.

FANTASTIC CONTACT BEFORE, DURING, AND AFTER THE WORK. LABORERS LEFT THE AREA PRETTY CLEAN. LABORERS, WHEN INSTALLING THE BRACES, ACCIDENTALLY DROVE A NAIL THROUGH THE WATER LINE FOR THE HOUSE. THEY REPAIRED THE WATER LINE AND CLEANED THE MESS. THEY FULLY ADMITTED THE ACCIDENT AND DISCLOSED SAME ON THE BILL OF SALE. KUDOS FOR HONESTY AND GETTING THE JOB DONE ON-TIME. HOWEVER, CONTACTING THE HOMEOWNER IMMEDIATELY AFTER AN ACCIDENT IS BEST, AS A COMPRESSION FITTING IS NOT THE BEST WAY TO REPAIR A BREACHED LINE. REPAIR OF WATER LINE WAS OF COURSE NO CHARGE, AND UNDER THE SAME WARRANTY SO I CANNOT COMPLAIN. :) PLACE LOOKS GREAT!

THE CREW DID A GREAT JOB, THEY ARRIVED ON TIME AND FINISHED THE PROJECT ON SCHEDULE.

SERVICE WAS GOOD, THEY WERE VERY CLEAN, PRICE BY THE FOOT.
