As a general contractor, finding good and reliable teams is half my job. Whenever I do, I make it a point to let others know. This house had a couple thousand square feet of some of the rougher floors I've ever had redone, and given the price point of the house needed to be a higher end finish. Scott's team patched and refinished the floors to perfection. His team both worked late and worked weekends, all within a contractor's tight budget. I will be using him moving forward, and would highly recommend him to others - he's certainly worth giving a call.

It went well. On the second round of work, Scott bent over backwards to ensure we got the job done before we closed on the sale of our house.
Description of Work: I wanted to install new hardwood flooring before putting our house on the market. Then, we had to do it again when we had a plumbing disaster.

Took a bit of time to get done since we only wanted to tear up one room at a time, but he worked on my schedule. He even worked on weekends to reduce my time in disarray. He even ensured high traffic areas had sealer for high traffic. He also noted the type of flooring (oak, red oak, white oak) to ensure proper sealers and cleaners were used.
Description of Work: I had all my home floors refinished. He worked one room at a time for my ease of handling and made the floors gorgeous! They had been covered by carpet by the original homeowners and one room and lots of damage from animal urine. He made everything look wonderful and always was trustworthy and prompt. He is a hard worker and manage his crew carefully.

In preparation for the hardwood install, Scott discovered serious problems with the subflooring. He went to the trouble of finding someone to correct the problems for us ($3800) , and also talked to the manager at the store where we had purchased the new hardwood to see if it could be returned (at first Scott recommended a type of floor that was more flexible, but we ended up being able to use what we had purchased). Scott's installers were friendly, polite, and knew what they were doing. They cleaned up after themselves each day. Shoe molding was put back in place. Although the whole process took much longer than anticipated, we are very happy with the results. Scott did charge us more than the quote because he had to buy two saw blades. Sometimes it took awhile for him to return calls, but overall, we recommend his company.
Description of Work: We hired Scott to take out our laminate flooring and install the new hardwood we had purchased.

We fired Scott Kimberling the contractor. He subcontracted electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other work needed, but he refused to pay the electricians, and electricians had to come back to us for a bill amounting to thousands of dollars that the work done we weren’t given a written consent to proceed with work outside the original scope. In addition, subcontractors and employees of contractor came to us to ask for payment saying they weren’t getting paid, which is unacceptable. We hired the contractor to do a job, and he needs to make sure he pays all his men, and subcontractors, which is in the contract we signed. I have all the documentation and evidence to prove that this contractor has breached our contract. Work quality was very poor. Project that was committed to last 6 weeks wasn’t completed. We gave him a chance, but at 8 weeks of the project, work needed done wasn’t even 60% complete. His men didn’t show up for work, was always late, or had to leave early. There had to be a lot of rework that needed to be done. Plumbing had to be redone, HVAC had to be done, and Kitchen fixtures and appliance installations had to be redone. Poor workmanship from his men resulted to all the rework needed. Clearly this contractor doesn’t have the experience or skills to complete a kitchen & Bath remodel, nor has the capability to complete a big project. Entire project was extremely mismanaged. Please be aware that this contractor should never be hired by anyone, nor even be in business.
Description of Work: Hired contractor to do a whole house remodel that included kitchen makeover, demolishing a wall, hardwood flooring, tile flooring, bathroom remodel, plumbing, electrical, and more. Contractor was fired and will never be used again.

The flooring he used is second to none. Best quality I've seen anywhere. Workmanship is excellent. It did take a long time and I was very patient because I had added to the job. He also had to rebuild the under flooring which was a total surprise. The end result turned out to be worth the wait. Flush floor radiators, Electric outlet in middle of the floor and moved 2 lights where one door was widened. I am totally thrilled with how it turned out But it did take a really long time.
Description of Work: The initial contract was to change one room from carpet to hardwood. And you never know what is under that top layer. And I did throw him a curve because after he started the job I asked him to widen a couple doors.

Bought a deal for $349 in June to sand and refinish a hardwood floor in our kitchen. A 2 day job at most, as relayed by Scott. Initially, he was upfront about how busy he was a pushed our deal down the road a couple weeks. As each scheduled date got nearer, something would always happen in Scotts personal life that made our job unable to perform. If memory serves correct, we scheduled three different dates and missed each one. Eventually it got to be the end of October and Scott assured us he was coming the next day to complete the service. Lo and behold, he was literally on his way when an object flew off another car and hit his trailer. He immediately called and relayed the news that he would need another day before he could come out. At that point, I'd had enough. If you read Scott's reviews, he has a mix of great workmanship and then a litany of other claims just like mine. I'm sure he does great work if you can actually get him to show up.

Horribly! Nothing but problems prior to buying their big deal! Prior to purchasing the big deal I couldn't get a return call or an actual show up for an estimate there's always an excuse! against my husband's Judgment of saying do not purchase it I purchased it anyway because it was expiring and was a great deal! Upon purchase they have 48 hours to come out and do an estimate we heard nothing within 48 hours so I contact Angie's List then we get a call to come out and do an estimate and all I hear is excuses and finally we get an estimate scribbled on scrap paper. We had other contractors in the house that took longer than expected so we had to push back the start date. Once the start date was determined then they started pushing us back on the start date we finally obtain determined start date and had a pod delivered on Wednesday because they were to start on Monday then had additional excuses as to why they couldn't start Monday, then the following week then the following week. So a POD sat empty in our driveway for 3 weeks and finally he decides, "I have nothing in writing"! Ummm, not our problem you are a poor business owner that when you show up to give an estimate you scribbled on scrap paper your estimate! We advise them we had a pod sitting in our driveway for 3 weeks now you need to complete this job before or month expires,or we are the doctrine that fee from your final price he assured us he would be done he would show up on Monday between 9 and 10 a.m. he showed up after 1:30 then the following day same thing after 2:30 pm. Finally we think we're at the finishing point he puts a coat of water-based seal down after he leaves we notice he filled not one of the holes or cracks whatwhich guessing he should have done prior to that point. My husband contacted him he said he was going to get to that and would be out the following day to finish our job and take care of that the following day he was a no-call no-show, even after my husband text him around 3 in the afternoon asking where he was and he said he would be there but he couldn't give a time as to when he was showing up! At that point we were at our wits end sleeping on a mattress in the basement miserable with him showing no regard for our situation we contacted another company to come out and finish the job, contacted him to let him know he was fired. Of course he did not like that aggressively drives and down our court and shows up to confront my husband and my husband just told him you're fired leave we have somebody else coming to finish the job contacted Angie's List to let know the horrible experience we've had an excuse after excuse and he basically seems like a compulsive liar! After reading the reviews on hair today they are all completely valid the F's and D's, surprised there are not more, he's completely unreliable I would never refer him to anybody I would never call him for anything and if anybody reads this do not hire this individual!

Purchasing the big deals has nothing to do with me that is all Angie's list so I have no idea what that's about. And I have no idea about those purchases until I get notice from Angie's list letting me kno that one was purchased. This client pushed this job back twice on my schedule. Which was a nightmare because of my schedule being booked up months in advance. Finally I got them nailed down on a date. At that time it was expressed to me that "you can come whenever you want as long as you are done before the POD is due back I'll give you the code to the door". He then expressed to me that he was sorry for pushing back our dates. I assured him it was fine but we were very busy and that I would work him in with this smaller job that we had I would come in the afternoons. He made a very big deal that it was fine and kept telling me he did not care when I got there as long as it was done before the POD pick up. I told them it would take four to five days to finish I sanded it the first day. The second day buffed and put the first coat down. Then I told him the second and final coat would go down tomorrow. He seemed very upset at this point. And stated to me "wow you got this done quick" he said "this was allot easier for you than you thought it was going to be your gonna get done early and thank you for taking the extra time to clean up after your guys are done." Later that night he texted and asked about the big holes where the cables came thru and the big deal purchase said three coats poly not two. I then told him that I needed to seal in the putty between coats for the holes so it would be sealed between coats and stay better. I then had to tell him that the big deal purchase was for two coats of poly but if he wanted I would do three to make him happy. He told me how beautiful the floors looked that he had told a "a dozen people at work about beautiful work we were doing at his house" and that he posted all over Facebook how good a job we were doing. They refused to sign the contract. Then he he told me when I started he would give me the deposit for the job and material when I got there he never did give me the deposit even for the material that I purchased. The next day I was to finish the job, was all done minus the last coat of finish and filling some of the holes he asked about. So the next day came and at three I got a text from him asking if I was still coming I told him yes that I didn't kno exactly what time I could make it. He texted back and said o.k.. So he texted back after a couple hours and said since I pulled a no call no show I was fired. He would not answer the phone to explain so I went to his house cause I had two pieces of trim that he asked me to sand down for him as a favor and install them plus I had no idea what he meant by no-call no show when I just texted him earlier and he responded. He said that he called another company and they said that you can't put down two coats of water based poly that it had to be three coats and he had looked at the big deal purchase and it said three coats that I was lying. The fact is that Angie's list set the parameters for the two coats and they purchased it from Angie's list with those terms not my company. And he cussed at me and said I was fired and was to get the f*** out of the court I was standing in.

This was truly amazing experience for me. I was very nervous about attempting this project as I thought my floors would be in worse shape. These are very old wood floors. Scott assured me that there was plenty of life left in them and bringing them back to their original form was the right move to make. Boy was he right! They look amazing, the stairs are the showcase of the home! Everything Scott explained happen as he said it would. The timing, professionalism, workmanship, and the finish product was spot on. I expected issue and problems...Scott alleviated any pain by keeping me informed throughout the process. I can't thank him enough for the job he did on my floors!! From what I gathered from others, was this was not an easy task. One company didn't even want the job because it was so complex. Scott and his team are great to work with, I would recommend them to anyone reading this...I already did to my friends.
Description of Work: Removed old flooring in upstairs hallway and second bedroom. Installed new stain matched flooring to blend with the original 100 plus year old floor. Entire second floor of the residence was then sanded and refinished. Missing area of flooring from the walls being removed on the first floor was replaced. This repair was not basic, they had woven in new flooring to blend seamlessly with the original flooring...unreal capability. Entire first floor was sanded and refinished. Original stair chase was brought back to life after they stripped SEVERAL layers of paint and stain to bring back the original stairs from over 100 years ago.

I found Scott on Angie's List and asked him for an estimate to refinish existing hardware and install new hardwood. We needed about 400 sq ft of new installation and roughly 2600 sq ft of refinish work. Scott showed up on time for the estimate, sized up the job, and provided a quick estimate. I had three estimates and Scott gave me the best deal, so we hired him to do the job. The work was preformed according to schedule and exceeded our expectations. Scott was very thorough and asked us how we wanted to handle certain situations as they arose. Scott is very upfront and was willing to do whatever it took to make sure we were satisfied with his work. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a hardwood floor guy.

First appointment we rescheduled without incident with days ahead notice to the client. Reschedule day came and was on my way to her house for an appointment between 4/5pm client called and asked how long I looked at the gps it said twenty minutes it was taking me thru Powell client expressed she had an appointment somewhere else at 5:15 and asked if I could just come Sunday. I don't normally schedule on Sunday but was trying to be helpful. Unfortunately I had never been to the clients house and had no idea it was 50 minutes away that the reason for using GPS. That Sunday I woke up to my phone being completely blacked out no screen no nothing l so I took it to the Verizon store which it took them a good while in which to figure out e what was wrong unfortunately all the client info was in my phone in which our appointment time had passed so I called her as soon as my phone was fixed which was an hour past our time and I felt terrible for. But it was not out of malice or not showing up on purpose. The last time was my fault.

He sanded down the hardwood first, then stained the hardwood and then finished with 2 coats of Bona. It took 4 days to complete.
Description of Work: Sanded down approx. 220 sq ft of hardwood flooring. Stained and Refinished with a Bona product. He also touched up the toe cap moulding around the room. The original deal was bought off Angie's list. I upgraded the finish to Bona which cost about $200.00 more, but it was worth it.

Scott and his crew took up 1000 sq. ft. of old flooring, and installed 1000 sq. ft. of new flooring, and put down all new shoe molding. They also took away all the old flooring, so I didn't have to deal with it. . They cleaned up the area each day before they left. Scott and his crew were all very nice and very friendly, yet professional. Scott always kept me informed by phone or text if he was going to be late, or he had a question. Scott came out quickly to quote. Our project was small but time consuming and we needed it done quickly. We had 1 scheduling issue due to an unforeseen emergency. Once the crew got on site, we were good. They were professional, respectful of our house and completed the tasks required. I am perfectionist, so a B rating in my book is good. It was fine. They came out pretty soon after I did it. I paid extra. I think they did a good job except they left some stain on my white threshold from my steps. I had my painter fix that yesterday. They said they would come back a couple of days but it was several weeks and my painter had to be here. I think they should have come back and taken care of the stain that was on my white threshold on my steps. It wasn't a lot but it was noticeable as you were going up the steps.

Scott of Kimberling Interiors is the consummate professional. In our experience, he was attentive, a good communicator, and prepared reasonable estimates for the work to be done in a timely fashion. When we hit a bump in the road on the house we were planning to renovate, Scott followed up with us and provided assistance where he could. While we ended up not requiring his services for the quoted job because of circumstances outside of our control, we will certainly be contacting him should we need any interior or floor refinishing work in the future. We certainly would recommend Scott and Kimberling Interiors to anyone.

Came 3 days late, worked steady 2 days to strip floor and stain. Came back the next to put on finish and then two days later to finish. Said they would be early but came late in afternoon each day but you had to wait. Grew tired of waiting for them to show up over the next three days. Missed spots on final job so came back again. Most of the work is ok, but nothing to brag on. After we spoke about the type of finish they asked for another $320 for materials. Up to the applying finishes they seemed ok, just late starting. Once finish went down it became a rush and they missed spots. I'd use another company if I have to do it again.

We asked ( members name removed)to switch the start date due to another member adding work to prevoius job. He had purchased a deal thru angies list and expected me to do the work immediately. I was already booked for the next couple months. It was explained to them that if they coild be patient with us we would try to accommodate the schedule they wanted. So I pushed work already scheduled back to fit their job in. We sanded the floor and stained it in two days then put 3 coats of poly down. Which when we talked about the finish they were interested in upgrading to the water based poly so I charged them for the difference in the cost between what was included and the water base poly. We explained that the poly would not take but half an hour to put down ( members name removed)said to just call when we were on our way so we told him we would make it as early as possible fitting everything in. There was a spot where the fridge was where we missed with the poly. I told him I would put an extra coat of finish down even though he said it wasn't necessary but I wanted him to have the best possible out come so I tried to do what was best not what was easiest.

Scott and his crew fit me in the schedule in a hurry. When I received Scott's estimate, I was less than 2 weeks out from having other contractors start another project. So, I needed to have my floors done right away so they could dry in time. They promptly arrived the next day and started. They arrived promptly every day and some days worked longer in order to finish earlier for me. Great service!!
Description of Work: Refinished Oak Hardwood Floors (approximately 1,600 sq. ft.), which encompassed a full floor sanding (course to fine), a beautiful darker stain (with a red tint), and 3 coats of varnish. It was difficult to try to get our schedules to match up. When we did, they did great work and I would highly recommend them. However, it took longer than I would have wanted. I still gave them an "A" though as the price and work definitely overcame the slight time delay.
Description of Work: They fixed a bunch of drywall "issues" we had around the house from some damage due to prior refinishing to poor drywall work when the house was built.

A+ Excellent! I couldn't be happier with team Kimberling. True professionals. After the previous contractor ruined my floors and disappeared with my money, I signed up for Angie's list and found team Kimberling (and I'm glad I did). I was trying to move in with my roommate but we had to have the floors done first. Team Kimberling saved the day. Not only did they get done super fast, but they fixed the other peoples mistakes and did an amazing job in the process. The outcome was incredible. I couldn't believe it was the same floor. They did it for a fair price too. I initially was a little concerned about having my tools in the house while they were working (thanks to the previous contractors), but not a single tool was out of place when they were finished. They were very polite, courteous, trustworthy, clean and respectful. I was so happy with the floors they refinished upstairs, I had them install hard wood floors downstairs. They're doing my brother's floors next and my parent's floors after that. I highly recommend them. Thank you Scott, Josh, & the rest of team Kimberling! Definitely my go to flooring company of choice.
Description of Work: Repaired and refinished upstairs pine wood floors.
