Walt's Handyman Services

We have had Walt do a number of jobs for us over the last couple of years and been very pleased, but I didn't realize he did any plumbing work until I saw him listed under plumbing on the List. We called him and he was out within a day. As always, he was prompt, reasonable and did a nice job.

Walt was great. Worked thru the punch list quickly, completed work on time with high quality.

Excellent service. Very professional and efficient. He called to confirm the appointment and to let me know he was on his way.

Walt did a wonderful job on adding the closet to our den. He took care of all the little details including matching the paint, trim and carpet. Overall he did an excellent job and we are having him remodel our bathroom. He does excellent work and I would use him again.

After working with Walt previously, I hired him for a few additional jobs, this time for ceiling fans. He performed the work quickly and precisely. After installing the fans, I noticed that one was not working properly -- it had only one speed (this was a manufacturing issue, not an installation issue). Walt returned, at a later date, with a new switch to repair the defective fan. As before, his work was clean and professional and very reasonably priced. Because his handyman service is his secondary job, I did have to wait a little while before he could get to this. However, if you're not in a hurry to get your jobs done, he's well worth the wait. I can't say enough about how pleased I am with his work.

He has been very responsive. He has expertise in more than one field with good knowledge of plumbing and electricity. He is also good at the usage of small tools.

Fantastic experience from start to finish. Walt was very professional, congenial, and did excellent work. He was able to replace all 4 lights in a couple of hours. Although I had to wait a couple of weeks to get on his schedule, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. His fees are very reasonable, he is trustworthy and hard working, and he knows what he's doing. His work is top notch and he cleans up after himself, which was greatly appreciated. He's also willing to do smaller jobs that many contractors won't even bother with. As long as he's available, I will hire him to do all my handyman services in the future.

Walt took my call at his other job, and was courteous and explained his business model. I described the services, he asked a couple questions, and said he could do that. We agreed easily on a day and time (easier because the work was not urgent, so I did not need to schedule it immediately.) He was late because of a flat tire, but called me a little before he was supposed to be there, and gave me updates as he got his tire repaired (perhaps he did an Angie's report for his mechanic? :) ) The tasks took him about a half hour, and he volunteered to other things on my list while he was there (I didn't take him up on that.) He was efficient, sure-footed, congenial, did what I asked and suggested other things but didn't push for extra services. He was neat and tidy, took good care of equipment. Two thumbs up. I called him, in part, because although I do a lot of things myself, I wanted to try out a service for when I might need help. I would call him again!

Given he completed the work so quickly, he only charged for a partial hour, rather than a minimum charge as most repairment would. I plan on using him again in the future.

We could not be more pleased with our new bathroom or working with Walt. He listens to the customer. He's was very professional, courteous and took time to explain every step of our bathroom remodel. The quality of his work was excellent. He made sure everything was neat and clean at the end of each work day. He was honest and right on with his estimate. We are already planning future projects. The recommendation of Walt was worth the price of membership!

When he discovered what the problem with the heater, he indicated that the previous company that came out the night before should have been able to diagnosed the problem. My tenent made a mistake an turn off the switch by mistake. The furnace company charged me $165.00 and told me that it was an electical issues. It was not a furnace issue. Walt told me that the furnace company should have detected that the switch was off. Walt showed me where the switch was on the wall. The furnace company did not care about the work they did for me. Walt shows pride in his work.

He does do various types of home repairs. The repair looks very nice, and the repair was blended in well. He was very neat cleaning up after the job was finished

Even though Walt is extremely busy, he managed to squeeze my project in before the weather turned cold. He pressure washed the patio on a Saturday morning and then returned a few days later to seal it. Because the project didn't take as long as he thought it would, and because he didn't need as much sealant as he originally estimated, Walt lowered the cost from $250.00 to $200.00.

He is very busy. When my toilet was plugged up, he came out right away to fix it for me. He always shows up on time and if he can't, he will call and tell me that he is going to be late.

He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was very reasonable with his price. He was very nice.

He was very understanding about me needing it done in a hurry. He was very professional. He cleans up after himself very well. I would give a whole hearted referral to anyone.

It was very smooth. The communication was good. He is very honest and hard working. He is determined to do the job right within the budget given. He is professional and friendly also.

Walt came over, looked at the problem, figured out the cost and what be needed to do the job and rescheduled for 2 days later. He had to take apart the plumbing under the sink to do the job but that was no problem for Walt, including pulling out a massive hair clog. He finished, cleaned up and billed me. No problems at all.

This work was fine. I would hire them again with one exception. Walt has a full time job and it's hard to get him to come in the near future. You have to wait until he has free time. But he was conscientious and helpful. He just doesn't have the time. We feel his price was reasonable.

Did an excellent job, was on time and charged a reasonable price for the work. I highly recommend for any handy work.

This project is ongoing. Walt's work is excellent. He has experience in almost every aspect of home renovation and refers us to excellent companies who handle specialties. The thing we like most about Walt is that he does everything the "right" way which is exactly what we want. He never "short-cuts" any work. He always will contact us if he is concerned about a project that could cost more than expected because of unforeseen problems. Walt is also willing to and has been giving us a lot of training and advice which has proved invaluable. We give him an A+++++++++++.

Walt came to give me an estimate the same day I called him. He looked at what needed to be done and gave me an estimate. We scheduled a date for him to do the work. He showed up when he said he would and had my dryer running in no time. Walt's policy is to charge only what they parts cost. The job came in below the estimate. The work area was left spotless.

Walt is dependable, prompt, and does a good job. He charges by the hour and prefers to be paid by the job, for the time he spends. We are having him install a folding attic stairs. We have been very pleased.

Walt was very prompt and efficient. It was a frustrating job because the leak was a little difficult to fix. He had to come back a few more times to try some better ideas because the leak was in a troublesome place. He was able to fix it, though. It was great that he could come over in the evenings to work, it was much more convenient. He was very pleasant and professional and I would most certainly call him again in the future.

We wanted a fountain on our back porch but needed to have an electric line installed. I was going to do it myself, but, instead of screwing it up and calling a pro to come fix my mess, I decided to turn things over to a pro from the beginning and save the aggravation. I joined Angie's List specifically to find someone reliable in my area. Walt did an excellent job and finished in a couple of hours what would have taken me a lot longer to foul up! He showed up on time and completed the work in a couple of hours. He didn't leave a mess. And he charged what I think is a reasonable and fair rate for the work and parts. Because he works a day job and does his handyman business on weekends and evenings, he's very flexible about arranging a convenient time to work around your schedule. I recommend Walt highly and without reservations.
