 + 0 moreLousy overall. Called the owner, make contact, scheduled appointment at my house. The man showed, looked at proposed job, and provided estimate of materials and cost, and estimated a straight-forward completion of job. We agreed. He left the work site to procure materials and prep for the installation task for outside wood siding repair. Never heard from him again--except when I called about seven or eight months later. He was tied up with a busy schedule, and said he would contact me. Never heard from him again.
Description of Work: No services performed. Called Walt late in 2010. We arranged a convenient time for him to review work on-site; he was punctual. Walt gave me a very acceptable estimate of cost and work that needed to be done. It was too late in the season before snow and ice for Walt to schedule work in late 2010 for outside wood siding work. In summer 2011, I contacted him again about my house repair -- a fairly small job. Walt said he was very busy at that moment and would contact me shortly for undertaking the job. As of this time in August 2012, no further contact from Walt.

 + -1 moreWe were unable to figure out why the overhead light in the kitchen didn't work. LIke magic, our kitchen was suddenly light & bright after Walt replaced the the unit the light bulb screws into. He did it fast and inexpensively.

He cleaned up each day when he was done working my husband and I were very happy with all that he did. Thank you.
Description of Work: Walt was very professional and prompt both days that he worked at our house. He replaced our kitchen lights and outside lights he also installed a new ceiling fan and replaced one, my husband and I were very pleased with his work and will definitely hire him do other projects in our home. We highly recommed him, very nice person.

 + 2 moreHe was really good but he lives 45 minutes away so it is a problem for him to get out to me. He went out of his way to help. He is booked up for 6-8 weeks so his availability is not that great. He came right out to patch the ceiling and he got it done. It was reasonable. It was an emergency call and he drove 45 minutes so I can't really complain. His availability wasn't that great. He was very punctual on the job he did for me.
Description of Work: I used Walt's Handyman Services to overlay some ceilings and fix a gutter and fascia boards on the outside of the house. He is also giving me an estimate to put sheetrock up on one wall in my garage and partially taking out a fence for me.

Walt had done several small plumbing and electrical jobs for me before, including installing a new water heater, and I liked his careful, conscientious work. His ability and willingness to do a variety of small tasks neatly and promptly put him at the top of my handyman list.
Description of Work: Installed: new combo electrical switch/outlet in basement; new exterior water faucet; pair of sconce lights; door stop; and undersink water filter replacements. First 2 items he also supplied; I provided the rest.

Description of Work: I called this service and made an estimated appointment time sometime ifor the morning of Saturday, February 4th, 2012. He didn't show and didn't call. I called him again Monday or Tuesday of the following week and at that time he told me he lost my telephone number, even though my number should have showed up on his incoming calls on his cell, and he was happy I called back. We made another appointment for the following Saturday, February 11th at 9:00 a.m. He showed up late, said he lost my phone number and my address, had my name and called the number that was in his cell this time, unfortunately it was my office number, and he said he was driving up on down the road trying to find my house. We discussed the jobs I needed done and he said he was very busy and would get me a quote next week. I gave him my business card with my email address that he could use. It is now February 27th and I still haven't heard from Walt. I am very dissapointed with the quality of professionalism in returning calls, maintaining good appointment records and delivering the promise of services (a quote). If the job was too small or too much he should have stated that at the time and I could have called someone else. It has now almost been a month and I am no closer to getting my project completed.

 + -1 moreOnce he arrived and gave me an estimate I decided to go with him as he was local and had some good Angie's list comments. He also had a super service award. He completed the work and did a nice job although he was distracted and disorganized. Afterward I asked him to give me a quote on doing some additional work in putting in a new hot water tank, adding some wood trim in our bathroom, and replacing some shut off valves in our basement. I am still waiting for that quote in January, 2012. I also got him a job with my firend installing a new gas line to his new gas grill. I was there when he visited my friend to start the job. He said he needed to get some more parts and would return the following Tuesday. He never went back to complete the job. I will never use him again and highly recommend to all Angie's list users not to use him.
Description of Work: I called Walt to replace some rotted wood around my garage. Walt came over after I called him back a second time as he lost my contact information.

I have faith that he will be able to handle it because it is a big project. He went out pretty quickly to evaluate the damage when the tub was leaking. He temporarily fixed it because the tiles were loose. I met with him about a month ago and he was very pleasant and he seemed competent. I will know more after the work has been completed.
Description of Work: Walt's Handyman Services came to fix a leaking tub temporarily a month ago. He is coming next week to replace the tub and shower. He is also going to put in a storm door and an inside door. He is going to change the locks.
