Description of Work: We purchased a Child's Play playset after spending time reviewing the many playsets at the Powell store. The sales team promised us the moon and stars, unfortunately, that didn't come to fruition. Specifically, we wanted a set that adults could swing on (so we can play with our kids instead of stand and stand and watch them play). The sales team assured us the playset could hold 250 lbs p/swinger. That is not the case, as we later found out. I weigh about 165 lbs and the large support beam that holds the swings onto the set makes an obvious creaking sound when I am barely swinging. We quickly learned the entire family would clearly not be able to swing at the same time, but only after the set was already installed in our yard. When we went back to the store to complain, the front desk lady told us "Yeah, the sales people will say anything to get a sale." This was nice to know after we had already purchased the set! If only our problems had ended there. Our next issue was that the company advertises that the playsets will be professionally installed, however our experience was less than professional. When the installers arrived to construct the playset they said that they had not constructed this type and needed to read the directions. I was immediately concerned. The guys were very "rag tag" in their appearance and demeanor, not what I would expect when laying down a couple grand for a playset. Even more concerning, they appeared to be confused and I was very stressed out watching them clearly try to figure out (on the fly) how the set went together. They kept pulling the manuals out and pointing at different pictures, then going back to the set to fumble with the setup while bickering with each other. I work from home and had the displeasure of watching these idiots try for over 8 hours to construct a basic model playset. After seeing that they were fumbling for hours with trying to construct it I went outside to find out why they were having so much trouble. I was told that they did not have the right parts and would try to construct our brand new playset with the parts they had in their truck. I voiced my concern that our playset needed to be installed correctly because young children would play on it they said they could only work with the parts they had... I said this wasn't good enough and called the Powell location to complain. When I called the store, I spoke to the manager (who while very nice gave me lame excuses for the lack of parts). He assured me that however it was installed, the installation was professional. Very reassuring. At some point the installers let me know that they were missing a certain type of screw that would not rust or break off at the head of the screw. They were also missing screws that were the right size. Again I called the manager and insisted that they use the proper screws. I pointed out that the installers had installed the wrong screws to the platform, such that the screws protruded upwards and above the flush surface of the platform. I grew frustrated trying to express how the end result would be our kids getting poked by the screws, and injured. Only after explaining that I was an attorney did they work with me. The end result was that additional parts had to be ordered. Planks of the platform also had to be replaced because the installers tightened the screws so much that the boards split almost all the way though the wood depth. All of these issues took months to resolve. I am still not convinced that our playset is properly installed. Only after joining AngiesList to research tree services did I look up this lame company to see if others had similar experiences. Having read comments by folks with exact experiences as mine led me to take the time to write my own story of disappointment. I urge people who work with this company to closely examine your playset as it is constructed. Make sure you are home when the rag tag team of "professionals" show up to put the set together. This is not a company where you would give them the benefit of the doubt. My experience with this company tells me that the installers are not properly trained, do not properly construct playsets, have no concern for the safety of the children who will use them, and the company misrepresents the quality of the product and the professionalism of its installers and staff. I really caution folks who choose to use this company. Be prepared to receive a product of poor quality that is improperly and unprofessionally installed and a staff generally unwilling to accept any responsibility for its misrepresentations or shoddy workmanship. We are interested in purchasing a spring free trampoline and are desperately searching for a different company to buy it from. We are actually considering buying it from Walmart as we believe the quality will be no different than than the products this company sells and installs, but will cost far less.

Description of Work: We purchased a new last years model King Kong dual cabin swing set with swing beam. The guys constructing the set were very professional. When constructing it the set parts were missing. The issue we had was with the sale of a product the company did not really have in stock and their unwillingness to acknowledge the issue.

Description of Work: They were suppose to install a basketball hoop parallel to our straight driveway. Instead, they installed the base at a very noticeable angle due to carelessness. They dragged their feet in responding to my concern about the faulty install. They did reluctantly come back to try to fix the situation, but never apologized or outright admitted their error. The goalsetter post does not have much leeway to swivel the pole, so they had to drill bigger holes at the bottom of the pole where it bolts into the base so that the pole could be swiveled so that it lined up to the driveway. They had to bend metal at the bottom of the pole so much so that the pin that is supposed to be at the front of the base could not be put back in. This poses a danger in taking the pole down if we ever want to move and take it with us. This is the pin that allows the pole to be safely leaned forward without crashing to the ground. They left shards of metal everywhere in our mulch from drilling the metal base and I am afraid that barefoot kids could get a sliver of metal in their foot--they just mixed the shards into the mulch. The guys were smoking as they spent several hours trying to fix the problem. When 5 pm rolled around, the guys trying to fix the hoop said, "That is as good as we can get it." One of the guys leaving our house peeled out extremely loudly on his motorcycle and raced away. When they left, the pole and pole base were chipped and bent and really looked bad--they came back and covered up this problem by painting over the base with black paint and painted over the bolts which again will make it hard to move the hoop someday. They forgot to paint the chips they made on the pole itself which likely would make it rust quickly, but did come back and do this after I called twice and left messages. I left 2 detailed messages with Nick Andrews (our salesman) who never called me back (probably trying to avoid talking to me) but obviously got the messages because someone did come out to touch-up the pole with paint (they had previously painted the base). Good customer service would have been to call and tell me someone would be coming or at least to call and say someone had come to fix the problem. I left a message on Nick's voice mail saying that I would like to speak with him and the owner about the situation and neither ever called me back. What I got in the mail with a copy of my bill was a note saying "Sorry for the inconveniences we ran into during the install. Here are 2 gift cards for $100 for anything in the store. Thanks, Nick"
