The patio came with a five year warrenty. The patio held up well for the first couple of years. Last June I noticed the stairs going to the backdoor were starting to sink. The landing for the backdoor was also sinking. Some of the pavers that are used for stairs are becoming loose. Also some other pavers by the retaining wall were starting to sink. I called Duane Droughne (President) in June 2012 and he told me that we will be put on the list for repair. (Please remember this is warrenty claim.) We kept calling through the summer and fall. When they did call us back, they always had an excuse why no one was coming out for the repairs. They always had an excuse. Later in the fall they stopped returning our calls. When Isabel (Vice President) did finally call us back, it was early winter 2012 and convienently a foot of snow was on the ground. However, Isabel did assure us that we were on the list for next spring. So this spring no one again was returning our phone calls or e-mails. I finally talked to Duane on the phone on May 14, 2013 and he said "we are closing the company". He did not specify the exact date. The call center he uses is still taking messages for Paverstone Design Group and their website is still operating. My wife and I saved up for many years to pay for our patio in cash. Going with Paverstone Design Group was the worst decision my wife and I made as homeowners, hands down. We are stuck with a 300 sq. ft. piece of crap patio that will cost a good amount of money to repair. Thanks for nothing Paverstone Design Group!
Description of Work: We used Paverstone Design Group to install in a 300 square foot patio in our backyard in 2008. They also installed a sitting wall and stairs with a small landing going to our backdoor. The pavers were coffee creek color with limestone pavers as well.

The project was delayed at least 2 months(May to July) from when promised as we wanted it in for guests and it did not even start until they were gone. As written in the above section the work was shoddy at best. We were never told that they were done and there was still more work to be done. All the issues were my problem such as lighting wire was running off the landing of the patio and I was told ?to get some soil and cover it? Overall from start to finish a bad customer experience. Getting a response after the project was done was non existent and takes multiple communications before any response.
Description of Work: Paver patio installed - contracted and a good job done (did break an irrigation line) Lava rock bed installed around paver patio – wanted a border but was talked out of it, big mistake as lava rocks now creep into yard and are flung with weed whacker improper plants were select as they could not handle the heat of the lava rocks so all but a few died or were very slow growing even though I ran the irrigation system if not once, twice a day every day for several weeks one Japanese maple died and never was replaced as promised several times, another Japanese Maple's top died, one arborvitaes died Patio lights were installed and the power box broke, took a BBB report to get it replaced, was blamed on the irrigation system (never the companies fault), I have ran the irrigation system 25 times with the new box and with no issues

The quote was submitted in late October. The deposit was paid in early November. We wanted to get the project completed before the real winter weather came in January. The owner of Paverstone, Duane Draughton, was our only contact during the design phase of our project and remained the primary contact through the entire project. Duane was our largest pain point while working with Paverstone. Here's a few reasons why:1. Duane did not communicate with us. We would call him to ask when the project would start and Duane would tell us the work would start on Monday. Then, Monday would come and go and we would not hear from Duane or anyone else at Paverstone. Then, another day or two would go by with no word from Duane or Paverstone. We would reach out to Duane and he would deny or have little recollection of any project start date. We even informed Duane about our frustration with his communication style and it did not improve over our four month project. Duane's inability to communicate effectively is a major reason for the poor score.2. Duane made promises/commitments throughout the project and did not live up to those commitments. Duane said he would talk with the City of Dublin and the Homeowners Association. The Homeowners Association and the City would call us and say they hadn't talked with Duane. Duane would say that the permits were approved. The Homeowners Association and the City would call us and say the permits were not approved. Duane would say that he'd paid the permits. The City would would call us and say the permits were not paid. Duane would say that he ordered the product to start the next phase of our project, yet his team would leave halfway through a day because they said Duane didn't order the products they needed for the next phase of the project. Duane's habit of over-promising and under-delivering is another reason for the poor score. The owner of Paverstone, double-booked himself and had to outsource our project to another person. He remained the point person on the project. , the work was not complete by Paverstone. The work was completed by a sub-contractor. (The sub-contractor's name was Chad Clarridge.) He and his team did quality work. So, the work that was completed was completed to our satisfaction. Our project started in November and didn't finish until February. We had our driveway torn up from November through the Christmas holiday. Our project was filled with delays. Some of the delays were weather related. Most of the delays were Paverstone related. Poor labor management. Ineffective product ordering. Poor timeline management. Poor communication. Paverstone even left a half of a skid of pavers on our lawn that we had to return to Columbus Builders Supply. The attempts we made to share our frustration and perhaps remedy the situation and improve our perspective on the project were ignored by Duane. Overall it was a horrible experience. I would not recommend using Paverstone for any project.
Description of Work: We wanted to replace our blacktop driveway with a pavers and build a paver patio with a fire pit. We contacted several companies and received quotes from most of them. One of the companies that submitted a quote was Paverstone. We agreed to an 808 sq. ft. paver driveway for $8,000+ (this included removing the asphalt and re-leveling the existing base). We also agreed to a 435 sq. ft. paver patio with steps to the house, a retention wall, and a fire pit area for $9,000+. The total projected exceeded $17,000. We received a gray paver driveway with a red paver border. We also received a gray paver patio with steps to the house, a retention wall, and a fire pit area.

First contact was in early May with salesman who was personable. He scheduled job for two weeks out and said he would get us samples of stone within three days. He got a signed contract and took $1000 down payment, but contract was not filled out and did not say when other payments were to be due. He was unable to get samples and we lost build date, but were not contacted. After multiple phone calls, in June, we were told the build would begin after Father's Day. We went to their supplier and picked out stone on our own. We got a phone call in mid June from the original salesman, who said they would begin Monday and it would be a three day job. On Friday night, he called to say we had to pay an additional several thousand dollars down before they could buy the stone. As that was not in our contract, we suspected bad business practices. We later were contacted by a "supervisor" Dwayne, who said the salesman was new and had not done things correctly and we had to pay the next installment to get the stone. As we had a special event coming up that week with guests from out of state, we did so and then were told it would be several more weeks if we wanted to use the stone we had selected. So, we ended up with stone that we did not prefer in order to get the mess out of the back yard (old stairs had been removed) and the job done. The patio looks good and the work is acceptable, but we would have gone with another company had we known of the stress and problems regarding the materials, downpayments, and timing of the project. At the end, we met Steve Cox, of Premier Patio & Garden, who said he owned this company. He headed up the installation and he finally got the men to come back to put the finishing touches on the patio. The workers cut a phone line accidently (and informed us of it) and blew out an electrical circuit and cable system and cable phone lines (and did not inform us of it). We think this is a basically good company that had a lot of things go wrong on their end, and we would like for them to have done something for us regarding price discount for all the problems. They declined to do so and we paid in full.
Description of Work: Built stone stairs from back door to patio, reface patio with pavers, build two benches on side of patio.

Everything went very well. We decided not to use this company because their price wasn't something we were interested in.

Response from PAVERSTONE DESIGN GROUP
Please can you remove this person from our report page we have never given this person an estimate ever. We keep records of all our clients and potential clients and this member is one that we have never given an estimate to. Either someone has the wrong company or someone is falsifying information in order to give us a bad grade. Your prompt response to this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Isabel Draughon

Great!
Description of Work: Installed a wonderful paver patio. Had a great experience with the group considering all the bad weather we had week after week. Any issues we had with certain stones were always taken care of. Good communication. Will do business with again someday.

This was an outstanding experience with a contractor. Duane came to our home, discussed what we wanted, and asked how we would be using our new paver patio to entertain. He took all information and designed a beautiful patio and water feature to replace our existing deck. The quality of workmanship is second to none. His workers showed up, did an outstanding job, and left our yard as they found it. We will certainly use them again when we install an in-ground pool that will need a beautiful deck surface. Their company also does paver driveways and walls.
