Patio Doctor

We are so happy with Chris, the Patio Doctor, for all the work he did to bring our patio back to life!! It needed several repairs done, the walkway completely reset, and everything cleaned, sanded, and sealed. It was a big job and I was so impressed with Patio Doctor every step of the way. He was prompt, stuck to the quote, and even through in a couple extras for us :-) It looks so good and we can't wait to use it!! Would highly recommend!

Chris fixed only what needed to be fixed, and it looks like a brand new patio now. He was punctual, and finished on time and on budget.

The process went smoothly from the estimate to the final step. Chris is meticulous in his attention to detail. He spent a long time with us going thru the estimate from listening to what we wanted to accomplish in the repair to his great suggestions. Chris wants the customer to understand the process from start to finish and how to maintain paver patio in the future. He was on site when he said he would be and kept to the schedule. Whole process went smoothly. We couldn't be happier and Chris made sure we know we can call any time with concerns or questions. Our patio looks amazing and new again!

I contracted with Chris to perform repairs to the paver walkway at the front of our home in November of 2014. The pavers were coming loose from the step, water was ponding in the middle and the pavers were separating in several areas. Chis stated that whoever did the original installation did not install the proper edging causing the settling and shifting. He originally quoted me a price of $850. After starting the work, he right away came up with additional work that he claims he did not know needed done until after he started the job. Since he had already started tearing up the walkway, I had little choice. He completed the work and ended up charging me $950 for the work. Well, it looked good for the first few months. In the spring, the edging that Chris installed starting raising up along the edges of the pavers to the point that they were sticking up over the pavers. Also the pavers along one of the edges rose up and became a trip hazard. Also the sand filler started coming out from between the pavers (which we were assured would not happen with his work). I contacted Chris to come out and fix the issues. He said he would be out in a few days to take care of it. Several weeks went by with no contact from Chris. I called him back and asked when he was going to come out and take care of the problems. He said that I had never paid him all of the money he was owed for the work and that he would not warranty the work. I told him I paid him the full amount we agreed to and asked if I still owed him money why he never tried to collect it. He has not responded to any further communication and has refused to fix the issues.

First up, I think it's important to note that Chris showed up for the estimate on time, he returned my calls/responded to my emails in a timely manner, he showed up to do the work when he said he was going to and came back everyday until the job was finished. In addition, he paid attention to detail and took pride in his work. I appreciate these qualities. Chris reworked the pavers and natural stone work around the perimeter and stabilized the patio. Then he pressure washed the entire area, resanded and sealed the patio. In the planning stages I was a bit skeptical about spending the additional money to seal the patio but Chris assured me it was the way to go to keep moss and weeds from growing and to restore the look of the pavers. I have to say he was spot on. It looks like a new patio. Worth every penny. The photos of sealed patios make the pavers look shiny and unnatural but it doesn't look at all that way on my patio. As an additional note, two days after Chris finished his work and my patio looked like it did after I first installed it 7 years ago, I accidently dropped a can of beige paint in the middle of my patio. My heart sunk and I started to panic. I thought this was a complete disaster! I called Chris who talked me off the ledge and told me to keep working at it. The sealer kept the paint from seeping into the sand and pavers. I was able to remove all of the paint without leaving a stain. It took plenty of time, scrubbing, and patience but all the paint came up.

The Patio Doctor came out on very short notice and around my schedule. They did all the repairs and now the patio looks like new and no more loose or uneven pavers.

We called The Patio Doctor for help with our patio after a and quot;contractorand quot; applied a sealer that turned 75% of the brick pavers black. The pavers looked as if a mold was covering them, and moss and weeds were growing among the pavers. They looked terrible! We had not used the patio in over two years because it looked so bad. Chris and Janeen from The Patio Doctor promised us that they would restore our patio to like-new condition. They power washed our entire patio with 4000 lbs. of water pressure! Every bit of moss, weeds, and black mold was washed away! The next day they returned and put fresh sand between all the pavers, then sealed the entire patio. They even offered to reset some of the pavers that had been loosened by the roots of a tree growing nearby. The transformation of our patio is amazing! It looks just beautiful now. The Patio Doctor also power washed our front walkway which had some rust-colored stains in the concrete. Those stains, too, were simply washed away. We are so pleased with The Patio Doctor that we will hire them again to do another project for us in the future. Thank you, Angie's List, for referring us to The Patio Doctor! We could not be happier with their work.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! Sadly, Chris Gatto could not build the steps to specifications, and he communicated in a non-professional, combative, and borderline threatening manner. Step lighting was not replaced. He complained about the fact that our check was from PNC, and not the bank he banked at. Other complaints included, the distance in which he drove to and from the job site, cost of gas, and working in the heat all day. Chris works with only one other individual, a young man. If you have anything more than the simplest patio fixes, I would seriously consider a more knowledgeable, experienced, client friendly person..

I had a great experience and would recommend him in the future.

He didn't come the day he had to and he didn't call, which I didn't appreciate. It took longer than what I anticipated for a small job. I am unsure if I will use them again in the future.

I had told Chris that after he had finished my back patio in 2010 that in the spring of 2011 that I wanted to replace my front walk and step off my front door. Chris called in early March to tell me the season was about to begin and that he would be over when i was ready and we could review what I wanted to do and spend. Two days later we had reviewed the project and had set a start date at the end of April. Cold and massive rain didn't stop the scheduled start date and digging and jack hammering began. Within the time frame that Chris said the project would be completed it was, even with some of the poorest weather i've seen during this time of year. Great job to Chris and David, you work well together and do a great job. Thanks again. Mark Dragoo
