Description of Work: I called this company because I had an issue with one of my outlets. It was late afternoon and an electrician responded within the hour. He inspected the outlet and assured me it was operational and safe. I had a light fixture that needed to be replaced and he took care of that as well. He was very knowledgable and thorough in explaining any details I might need to know regarding both issues.

 + -1 moreThe owner, Dave and his staff are all professional, courteous, prompt, and experienced , The work we had done was done quickly, and Dave went beyond and above the first time we used him. He arrived very quickly very early on a Saturday morning when he found out that we had no power. He was quick to diagnose the problem and quick to get it resolved. His charges are very much in line with other companies we used in the past. We would now use him for any electrical issue, With a compny like his, we don't need to worry about looking for any other company. He is without a doubt, the best electrician we have ever used.
Description of Work: Dave has done work for us several times this year. He came on a Sat. morning at 7:30 himself to help us with a power outage in our home ohly. He quickly found that the main circuit breaker had gone out and he had it replaced by early afternoon. In the meantine he brought us a generator to use for the refrigerators to keep them on. He also had two electricians here for severl hours installing outside service to our patio fountain.

 + 1 moreThis company, on each project they have completed, they called when they were just about to my home as a courtesy. They have always arrived on time if not a little bit early. They then place booties on their feet as not to track anything into my home. They then consult with us to get a description of what we want completed and they get to work. They have always consulted with us prior to taking any new unauthorized actions. They also do a great job cleaning up after themselves. During our interactions it is obvious that this company truly wants to do a good job. We will continue to call upon them for assistance.
Description of Work: I was introduced to this company by my local lighting design showroom in 2003 and have used them ever since. They've completed multiple projects for us & we are about to call upon them to do another project for us in the next couple of days or at least as soon as our new lighting arrives. In the past, DLC Electrical has installled ceiling fans, flush mount lighting, Chandeliers and completed repair work on our exisiting lighting. All projects were completed timely and in a professional manner. I have never used any other electrical company so I'm unable to comment whether or not their pricing is competive, but I've been so pleased with them I haven't cared to look!

 + 0 moreThe crew replaced the old exterior lights and installed the new interior lights competently and efficiently. They were personable, professional, and remarkably patient with my dithering over where to place the can lights. They were able to accommodate an additional request to convert a single two-switch circuit into two one-switch circuits, which they accomplished without much difficulty (unlike two previous handypersons, who couldn't do the necessary rewiring). They were willing to haul away the old lamp post.

 + -1 moreAbout one week after contacting DLC the owner of the company David Carmendy came out and gave an estimate on the work to be done. We had a previous estimate from another company who said we would most likely have to cut into the drywall in the wall to do the installation. We had just painted the room and did not want to have to patch a newly painted wall. We were pleased when DLC came up with a more creative solution. Due to the back log of work due to the recent storm we had to wait about 3 weeks for DLC to perform the work. On the scheduled day two workers showed up on time and did an excellent job. They were very knowledgeable and very much wanted to do a good job. Since they were installing two chandeliers in a 19 foot ceiling we were very concerned that they installed them correctly and they did. They were very careful working around our furniture and cleaned up thoroughly when done. They even found a minor issue not related to the work being performed and repaired it at no charge. The only minor issue with DLC was the difficulty getting hold of them to set up an appointment for an estimate. Apparently this was due to the high volume of work following the hurricane winds and power outages that passed through central Ohio a few days earlier. Based on my experience I would highly recommend this company.
Description of Work: DLC installed two chandeliers in a very high ceiling, raised a chandelier in another room, installed a whole house breaker, installed a can light, grounded the gas lines.

 + 2 more. Great, they were prompt and got the new dishwasher online quickly. Ryan and Dave and Branden wereall very smart and knew what they were doing. This house is old and big and very complicated with wires running everywhere.I am having them back right away to continue getting my electricals upgraded. When I got the bill in the mail I was hesitant but the prices were great and respectful and also appreciated and I am willing also to pay extra fr someone that you can trust brnging in to your home. Description of Work: These guys are great! I wondered if I should write this review because I need some other work done and I am afraid they will get too popular for me and not have time for me. But then it dawned on me that they will find time and be here some way. They were the ones who got the new dishwasher hooked up after a competitor came and charged a hundred dollars just to talk and then told us the whole breaker box needed replaced and some other stuff. This was bull and Dave here for DLC came right out that afternoon I recall, and took care of the dishwasher with a new junction box (think I am using the right term) under the dishwasher. Dave then coordinated his team and had Andy and Ryan come out the next day and replace a breaker in the pane for the A/C which was loose and did some damage corroding before they fixed it, Ryan came back on a second call a week or so later and got every ceiling light in the house working that was out, and there were about 10 florescent bulb (2 each) light that Ryan fixed. He then fixed some sunken lights that were out in a bedroom closet and another closet and also more in the bathroom. Ryan knows a lot as does Dave, the two I have worked with so far.I also think they are good people (the two I have been around). When the owner of the company is on his back in your house the afternoon you call then you have to respect that integrity. Thanks and I will call you tomorrow for the remaining eectric work I want done in our upgrade here. Jeff Humphrey

They fixed it and did not charge us for it. They were very nice. The quality of their work was really high too. We are planning to use them again in the future.

 + 0 moreProfessional. Prompt. Cleaned up. My only complaint was that were in my house 45 minutes and charged me for 2 hours. Still a bargain. However, after bragging them up to my wife and family regarding the "in and out" in 45 minutes, it was shock to get the bill for 2 hours.
Description of Work: Our 4th bedroom didn't have overhead lighting. The installed a ceiling box, a fan brace and wired the new box to an existing switch.

 + -1 moreVery professional. I called the office to make an appointment to fix just the bedroom outlets and left a message. I was called back the same day and the work was scheduled. The electrician was on time, courteous, and offered to take a look at the attic fan while he was there instead me having to reschedule another call. I would definitely recommend DLC for electrical work.
Description of Work: All electrical outlets except one in a bedroom were no longer working. DLC inspected each one and found several wires that were coming loose. The electrician reconnected all outlets, attaching the wires to the outlet screws instead of using the quick attach. Also, our attic power vent was no longer working. After an inspection, it was determined that the fan itself was OK but the controller box was not working. It was replaced.

 + -1 moreWhen I called the person in the office was able to immediately access our records from a small job they had performed for us in the spring. They set up an appointment for early the next week and arranged for one of the electricians who lives close to us to be here first thing in the morning. Brian was here five minutes early, spread a tarp to catch any pieces that might fall to the floor, replaced the fixture and was on his way in a half-hour's time. The electrician remembered us from one previous time, was courteous and friendly as well as efficient. We feel very confident that we have found a new electric company to rely of for our electric needs!
Description of Work: DLC replaced a kitchen fixture which had broken after years of service. It involved removing the old fixture and replacing with a new one. While he was here, Brian helped us locate one more daylight bulb as he had noticed that we had one that was not working properly and he helped replace a bulb that had broken in the socket in another fixture.

They've installed puck lighting underneath our kitchen cabinets, installed pendant lights from a cathedral ceiling, grounded our gas line, put dimmer switches in, figured out why the lamp post light wasn't working when the builder's association couldn't, etc. We've had both Dave and Sean do this work, and they are both meticulous, e g, they use a level to determine if the switch plates are on evenly. We have so much confidence in them; they can figure out any electrical problems we may have and fix it to code. And for all the time spent at our home, their services are very reasonably priced.
