Excellent response! He is unable to remove the chips, so we will have to do that, but he was the first to respond to my call and was able to complete the job quickly. He cleaned up the debris in the street after putting his machine back in and overall made this chore painless and easy.

I was very happy with the service and I would highly recommend to anyone.

Contacted Buckeye Stumps through Angie's List on 8/3/15 (Monday). Received a prompt response the same day from Gale stating that if I gave him the measurement of the stump base he could give me a quote without having to come out. I provided the information and was quoted $120 to grind the stump below grade and leave the chips in the hole. He also stated that he could get the job done the within the next few days and that I did not have to be home when the service was done. He would leave an invoice on the door once the work was completed. I approved the job at $120 on 8/4/15 (Tuesday) and he said I was on the schedule for this week. That worked for me! I Came home from work today 8/5/14 (Thursday) and the stump was ground below grade as stated and the invoice was for the exact amount quoted of $120.

I sent email inquiring on an estimate for a stump to be removed. I got a response back in 24 hours with a quote of $60. I emailed back and said I would like to schedule it and needed it done before April 30th. They came out in two days and removed it and put a bill on door. I wrote a check and mailed it to them. It was so easy to work with them. I didn't have to be home and simply mailed payment afterwards. They are very responsive by email and prompt to complete service. The stump was removed as promised with the wood chips put back in hole and covered up. They didn't even damage the grass with their machine.

We obviously did not use this company and would not recommend it to anyone. We went back to Angies List and found Stumps in Time and were very pleased with Dan's professionalism.

Called three times over a 2-3 day period. Told him I lived in the same town where his office is located and that I was an Angie's List member who needed to stumps removed asap. NEVER called me back. Luckily, I found After 4:00 Tree Service. They were fast to reply and fast to complete the work.

The stump was about 150 years old and at least 5-6 ft across. He removed the stump and made it look like there was never a stump there. He was extremely careful.

Gail from Buckeye Stumps was professional and courteous. He showed up the day after I called him and efficiently removed the stump and cleaned up the area. The price was very reasonable. I would use his service again and highly recommend him to others.

Excellent Service. Got a return phone call promptly, scheduled the work in a short timeframe. Crew of 2 came out and removed three stumps. I needed them ground down very low and also had a brand new driveway that was very close. Work was excellent, and they were very carefull of the edges of my driveway. When they were done, it was so clean, you would not know they were there, other than the hole filled w/ dirt and chippings. Stuff was so ground down, I and the neighbor have been using it in our gardens. I will never call anyone else.

Gale was incredibly prompt, courteous and professional. I left a message for him on a Monday, and he called back the same day. He arrived on Tuesday, and left an estimate for us. We had 10 stumps in total that needed to be ground, one of which was the remains of a 65 year old tree, with a stump roughly three feet in diameter, with an EXTENSIVE root system. We contacted two other companies for estimates; one company never showed, and the third quoted us a price twice what Gale did, and wanted us to deconstruct our fence and clear a pathway through city-owned woods next to our lot to allow their equipment access to our yard. Needless to say, I called Gale on Friday to confirm the work. He said he would be out the following week; he was there on Monday, and the job he did was fabulous. Prompt, efficient and clean; you would never know he was there, save for the fact that the stumps were there when we left for work, and gone when we returned home. We have already passed on his card to our neighbors. I hardly ever write reviews, but given the comparison to others out there, Gale is hands-down the best.

Wow! He was here & gone within 20 minutes, probably closer to 15. Gale arrived as promised, ground the stump, cleaned the area, and was gone before my wie could get up after he first rang the door bell.

I was referred to Gale (Buckeye Stumps) by another Angies List tree service (I can't remember their name). I left him a voicemail requesting an estimate on grinding down two stumps in my backyard. He left the estimate in my mailbox within a day or two. His estimate was less than half of some other estimates I had received from other companies. One of the stumps was about 3 feet across and was about 3 feet tall. Other companies wanted to charge me extra because of this, but Gale didn't (or if he did, it didn't increase the price very much). I left Gale another voicemail letting him know I'd like him to hire him for the job. He called me back within a couple hours and we scheduled the job (that was on a Wednesday and the job was scheduled for that Friday). Gale and his son-in-law showed up on Friday to do the job. The stumps were right on my property line (I am putting up a fence, so I had to get rid of the stumps before finishing the fence). My neighbor's house is only about 4 feet from the stumps, so Gale set up some plywood as a shield so the chippings wouldn't go into the neighbor's yard. It didn't take him long to get them ground down. Afterwards, he was kind enough to give me some pointers on renting a stump grinder, which I'll need to do soon for another property I own. Overall a great experience. I'd hire him again. The only negative - and it's a minor thing - is that he doesn't accept credit cards. I would have preferred to pay via credit card, but instead I wrote him a check.

My husband arranged the appointment - but Gale came out one morning, removed the stumps in next to no time and cleaned up everything. We were very pleased. Quick, efficient - very good work. We have recommended him to others and would use again when/if the need arises.

Great experience. My phone call was returned promptly and all questions were addressed thoroughly by the owner. He was happy to answer my list of questions and provide a quote over the phone. It turns out that stump grinding is all he does. The piece of equipment he showed up with was industrial strength. He told me the work he does as a sub-contractor to the big tree service companies dictates this type of machinery. While he was in my neighborhood he took care of three of my neighbors stumps too. It would have been nice to see a little discount on my bill since I told him about the extra opportunities. All of my neighbors were pleased with his work as well. I'd definitely call him out again for any additional work.

I called Gale one day and he came out the next. He gave us a very reasonable estimate and was able to do the work right then on the spot. He worked quickly and efficiently, take care to protect our property and cleaning up well after. We found Gale to be very personable, friendly, and easy to work with. Will certainly call him again.

I called to get a number of estimates from some local companies. Gale from Buckeye Stumps returned my call promptly. I let him know that the stump was close to my house and very close to the electric/cable/phone lines going into my house. I already had them marked off by public utilities. He gave me the quote over the phone. I told him that I would call back after I make a decision. The next morning, I called him and left a message. He called right back and said that he could be out that afternoon to get the job done. He showed up on time. He placed plywood around the house and in front of the utilities boxes. He also placed plywood around so that nothing flies out and hits the neighbors property. He did the job perfectly. He also filled the hole with the mulched stump and cleaned the surrounding area. He did an excellent job and the price cannot be beat. I refered him to my neighbor the next day. My neighbor also had him come out and grind down a stump of a tree on the side of his house. I called this company the first week in January while the weather was relatively mild. A friend had given me his name and said she was very satisfied with him. When I looked at his reports on Angie's List, which were not good, I decided to trust my friend and call him, to evaluate his service. He called me back the evening that I left a message for him. Gale was very polite, quoted a price on the telephone, told me that he grinds the stumps deep into the ground and cleans up all of the sawdust afterwards. I asked him to come and do the work and leave a bill, even though I wouldn't be there. He assured me (it was Monday) that he would be there one day of the current week. The next afternoon when I got home from work, he had removed the stumps, filled the holes with the wood fragments, and done a very thorough job. My experience with this gentleman was excellent in all respects.
