They had to put a hole in the adjacent wall to provide an access to the old pipes. The joint had been corroded and couldn?t flow, so they replaced that all. It?s an Amish family, I think it is and they?re pretty good. We are going to be calling them back here to do some more work eventually. The gentleman was very experience and it was his own business. He was very knowledgeable about diagnosing the problem for us. He did a good job of having to create a hole in the wall that was in a downstairs room, and putting a nice access panel on it, that was able to be hidden behind a mirror. You can?t see that it?s there unless you needed to get back there to do any work. It looks very nice though.

They were very professional, good people. The price was very fair. He swapped out the units within a couple hours.

One of our outdoor faucets sprung a leak and needed immediate fixing. Plumber we had used for several years told us it might be 10 days before they could come and fix it. Turned to Angie's List and found too many with top ratings to choose from, so looked at my homeowner's association list of preferred service contractors and found Plain City Plumbing. Looked them up on Angie's List and found they had an A rating, but not a super service award, despite the fact their member reviews were outstanding. More about Angie's rating criteria later. When I phoned the company, a very friendly and professional office manager named Sarah answered.and was immediately able to tell me when Plain City could respond on a worst-case basis, but they would make every effort to get to my home sooner if any of their jobs took less time than scheduled to complete. Today, the owner Henry Schlabach arrived and immediately assessed the problem and got right to work to repair the problem. He also gave me important advice on how to protect the faucet during the winter months, while also assessing a gas leak problem in one of the burners on our outdoor grill system. Thanks to him, we are able to safely use the main grill while deciding whether or not to repair or replace a side burner. Henry is a very experienced plumber. But much more importantly, he is an extremely honest businessman. I suspect one of the so-called Super Service Award plumbers might have seen a good opportunity to take advantage of someone like me who knows nothing about plumbing nor gas leaks. I search hard to find service firms who are reliable and excel at their business, but more importantly have a high level of integrity. I am confident I found such a firm and Plain City Plumbing will be the one I turn to for all our future needs. Finally, as to the Angie's ratings, I think it is shameful that Plain City has not been given a Super Service award, despite their uniformly high ratings. Three plumbing firms I engaged previously, both for my home and commercial needs, all have this highest award, but my experience with them was less than desirable and I fired every one of them.

Great! Henry and his people are top notch. Very respectful and do great work. We have used them since the house was built and use them to do regular maintenance on all our plumbing needs and gas needs.

We have used Henry for all of our plumbing work for many years. High quality work and very honest and thorough. Respond promptly to emergencies. However, because they are a small company and there are frequent plumbing emergencies, getting non urgent work done can require patience at times. The quality of the work is worth this minor inconvenience.

Their price is a little high, but they use very good products. They are just very good at what they do.

The experiences I have had with Plain City Plumbing are mixed. The customer service with Plain City Plumbing is poor. When you call to schedule; the response you get is "We will call you when we can do it." This is particularly true if the job is small. I have even scheduled to have the job done, and then received a call the morning of canceling the job. When the work is done, I feel PCP does a good job. The biggest complaint I have about workmanship is from my new build in 2003 where I had a Reverse Osmosis system PCP installed. The water from the beginning tasted like chemicals. I was told by PCP that they were sure they installed it correctly (they never looked at it), and I replaced the filter at my cost. I continued to call asking PCP to come out and look at the system. They basically acted like I was crazy. My husband, who is very handy, installed a new RO system, and the taste and smell went away, which tells me they installed a defective system.

He came and looked at the tank and said he could not fix it because it was one of those proprietary models that needed to be redone. I check and found that it was what had to be done and they were honest about it. They came the next day and installed the new water heater in a day. They did everything the way they said they would do it.

Water was leaking heavily from my kitchen disposal, so that I could not use the sink. Fortunately, it was a double sink so the situation was not urgent. I called to get Henry, who I had used several years earlier, but he was fully scheduled because of the recent very cold weather. His wife said he would try to get out by the end of the week, but she called on Friday to say that it would be Monday morning before he could make it. He came as scheduled and found that the disposal needed to be replaced. He also recommended replacing the waste piping(which I knew to be corroding, and had bought plastic piping for just such a replacement). While removing the disposal, the pipe trap broke in, revealing how close I was to a real mess. Henry completed the job in a timely manner and cleaned up the job site completely afterward.

We had a flood in our home less than four months after we built it that caused substantial monetary damage and we had to re-build it after the flood for seven months. An engineering firm stated that the flood was not caused by a six year old leaving a faucet running but that there was an issue with the trap alignment connected to the sink. We continued to have water leakage from the ceiling months after the initial flood. Leaks from the second bath, leaks in basement, hot water tank leaks, problem after problem, issues with so many items, I do not know where to begin. Company will not respond to concerns or problems, never call you back, terrible customer service. Absolutely incompetent and I would never recommend this company nor would I use them again!

He is the most inexpensive plumber I have ever used. He is dependable and he never has to fix anything twice, which I love about him. He's wonderful.

I highly recommend this company. Mr. Schlaback was very professional and did an outstanding job. Since I had three plumbing repairs at one time I was concerned about getting them all fixed, as I work full time outside the home.
