We had a 12 year old cedar deck that needed replacement. We first met Jacob at the spring home and garden show. Our objective was to replace the deck before high school graduation. Our first objective was to do a deck replacement. Our 2nd objective was to utilize our back yard more. We also had a timing deadline to finish the work before a high school graduation. As we continued between the two options, Jacob gave us both options and items to consider. He helped us understand and encouraged an economical option. As we continued, we wanted ideas on how to expand the deck and make it more functional. We had a design session and came up with several ideas that increased the project and budget, but we thought this would greatly help us utilize our yard. In the end, we expanded the deck, added a pergola, paver patio, fire pit and water feature. He was careful to let us know the increase costs up front and the concern of timing to finish based upon a rainy spring season. The project was delayed from rain. We started a little later than we would liked, but as he promised, he went from 1 work crew to 2 and finally 3 to meet our deadline. He was very conscientious through the project and his work crew leader was awesome. Overall, we committed and trusted Jacob's design expertise. We had one of our best back yard summers. Everything came out great. We didn't understand some of the things that would make the design work, but in the end, he was very capable in helping us get there. After the project was finished, we have called Jacob for minor maintenance details and he has been very attentive and helpful.

This was a Big Deal. Jacob came out and we discussed an overall concept. He came back a week later with detailed drawings and what his vision was for the area. We like what he came up with. He then emailed color pictures of the proposed space created with design software which gave us a good feel for how the project would look when completed. We are pleased with the process and results. We will use them to do the landscaping and install the patio.

This company has lots of potential, but failed to deliver. It started with a call to schedule the appointment for onsite measurement and estimate. The sales person knew what he was doing and brought lots of brochure (unilock) and options for fireplace, patio stone, etc. We discussed the scope of my project and expectations for payment (they have financing!!) and project start / completion. This company was in demand, as they had just finished up the estimates from the home & garden show in Columbus. The 1st consultation went very well, but that was the only good part. Being so busy, the rep told us he would need 10-15 days to turn a quote around..but actually took nearly 3 weeks! Finally, The sales rep returned to my home with a visual layout / design, with landscaping and hardscaping. That quote was broken into phases per my request, but had several things we needed to change. The original quote for both phases was over $40,000. The financing made that easier, but still needed some changes to suit our taste and selection of size, etc. These changes would reduce the cost to fit our budget---but the sales person seemed to preoccupied with the fact we wanted written confirmation of a start / end time based on them being so busy. Just wanted to enjoy the patio in same summer as we are paying for it! So apparently these changes and reducing the spend were too much work for them for the project, and despite confirming that we wanted to proceed with the project based on a sample picture we sent to illustrate our design needs, they promptly folded up tent, re-tracted their quote and left us with a lot of wasted time, a design we had no way to build and a feeling that they don't need the business. Must be nice. If you want work done quickly, have a small project or to work with a place that truly is hungry for your business...this is not the place.

We met with one guy and he was very good to work with.

Jesse, the designer, was great from the start. He was easy to talk to and very receptive to our wants and needs. Their 3D images really helped us visualize what the finished project would look like and allowed us to make a few changes before they broke ground on the patio. The installation crew was great and kept a tidy site, which I greatly appreciated. It's been a year since the install and everything still looks great. I just contacted them about a quote to do landscaping in the front of the house next!

They are a superior company. They did a fabulous job. We had an idea written down and they were able to interpret it wonderfully. Jesse VanWalson is the designer and the person to speak to.

I did receive an email from him saying that he would be delayed in getting back to everyone. They were overwelmed with the response to their "Big Deal". I never heard from them again.

We called the company and after they came out and looked at the area, they said that they didn’t need to do a 3-D rendering. They were fine, but they were being honest. We have a landscaped area already -- I was just wanting some landscaping done in the front. They were wanting to rip all the existing landscaping (including a few trees) and put in new items.

I loved working with this provider. We had a small budget (first-time homeowners with a new baby), but they were so willing to provide us with options that met different price points. Our front yard was a mess -- covered in ivy, crumbling retaining walls, big eyesore. However, Landscape Design Solutions were easy to talk to and work with, and very responsive via phone calls and email. We didn't end up hiring them for the landscape work in the front yard because we discovered more plantings than we thought underneath all that ivy. However, we are considering work in our backyard and would definitely contact these guys as a first choice for that work.

We are thoroughly pleased with the end result. First, my wife and I were looking to have installed a backyard entertainment area that would be different than our neighbors' wooden deck configurations. We met with three businesses all who came highly recommended through Angie's List. We outlined what we wanted to see and some of the wants of the project to each person. We also wanted to see an artist sketch of what the end project would look like. We decided to go with Landscape Design Solutions because of the time and effort that Jesse made in taking our requests and putting them to a comprehensive 3-D sketch. He took the time to listen to us and to walk the property of our recently constructed house. It's for those reasons we went with Jesse. After choosing the general stone colors and shape of the project we let Jesse come up with color schemes that would compliment our house. We were/are pleased with his choices. Due to fact that all the stonework had to be ordered, the startup for the project wasn't until mid-September but with excellent weather and painstaking work done by crew leader Charlie and his crew were completed with both the paving and landscaping project in about 10 days. Those days were full of hand cutting of the stone and pavers to make a beautiful design and border for the project. There were few problems, but if there were Charlie and crew were coming up with solutions. One example: we discovered the landing area out the back door was too small so Charlie and crew came up with a solution to enlarge the landing making it safer all without taking away from the design. It was fun to come home at night to see the progress the guys made that day and the cleanliness of the area after the day's work. My wife and I are pleased with the end result and even our friends and neighbors have complemented on the project.

The project went well. I really liked that our designer, Jesse, actually listened to my ideas and incorporated as much of it as was reasonable into the plan. When everything was dug out and the soil leveled and etc., the new plantings went in very quickly. We're very pleased with how it looks and are anxious to see it next summer after the plants grow and fill in a little bit.

He did a great job. He was on time, considerate of my input into the design and came up with a plan that met the expectations we were looking for. I would recommend and use again.

The service went fine. We had them install a new patio. The staff also pulled out some trees on one side and re planted new trees. They did a nice job. There was always at least a 3 men on the job and completed the service in about 3-4 days. They were pretty flexible between both our schedules and theirs. We were just looking to be home while they did the service. My wife primarily dealt with the technicians. We plan on using the company again for more tree work.

Very nice design for front and side of house landscaping. Professionally done and presented. We are slowly incorporating the ideas.

Well, we asked for minimal bushes etc & his quote/drawing had over 100 plants, it was $49 down the tube.

Jake and Jeff worked fantastic with their crews to produce a high quality product and I look forward to having them do future work soon on the front landscape!

Very good experience. Provided us with a great outline of not just our backyard landscaping project, but took the time to walk our property and point out other maintenance items we needed to consider for the overall health of our landscaping.

The whole experience was wonderful. It took a few weeks to get Jacob out for the designs but the plans were timely and he worked with me to fit in my budget. He had to redraw them a few times on his computer but he never seemed like I was a pain. Although his planting designs were great, I could not afford it so they prepared the flower beds where there were none and then I can plant on my own. I did have them plant a few trees and they were well planted, edged and bigger than I had even requested. Jacob responds to emails usually within a few hours and has called me to keep me informed of weather delays with all the rain and my deadline to have it done for a party. I had a few estimates and Landscape Design Solutions plans were the most innovative with the hardscape design and plant suggestions as well as cost effective. When the work was done they did not leave any mess where the gravel or dirt must have been delivered as well as little things like saving the grass from the patio to put around the edges and at the fence. As the job progressed and some rotten boards were found on my existing deck or they felt it needed more reinforcements, they replaced these items for free --didn't come back and ask for more money to cover it. One of the pavers had been delivered in the wrong color and laid but when I came home from work I sent out and email and it was replaced the next day in the correct color- with apologies. Jeff was the leader on sight and very easy to talk with and kept things moving even in the rain. My neighbors are impressed and I feel it more than met my expectations for appearance and cost! I felt like they were really looking out for my best interests.

Excellent!! Jesse was very attentive to our questions and concerns, ideas and changes thoughout the process. As a result the patio and landscaping turned out exactly as we had hoped. Despite the weather not cooperating, the installation went as smoothly as possible. A couple of things went wrong with the landscape installation but were quickly remedied even after I had already paid them the remaining balance - they still came back to finish the work, One was the nursery had given them the wrong plant which wasn't apparent until the shrubs began to bloom ( obviously not the landscapers fault) The other was one of our cypress trees was planted a foot or two off of where we wanted it. They had no problems with moving the tree and took care of it without any question. While the winter patio install helped to save on some of the cost, it did take a toll on the yard with wet winter we had.. That is another benefit of going with a company that does both the hardscaping and landscaping because they graded the yard, put down more top soil to level out the ruts left from taking the front loader back and forth and reseeded. I do recommend taking your time to go through each of the plantings on the landscape design to see if they are plants you personally like. I have very specific likes and dislikes . Jesse worked with me to determine which of those plants that I really, really wanted would work best and where they would best fit into the design and had no problems making multiple changes to the landscape design before install. The owner Jeff was even out here himself to do some of the work and the workers always cleaned up after themselves before leaving for the day. Jesse is even giving me a care quide that we requested for how to take care of all the plants shrubs and trees in terms of when to prune, fertilize, etc. I may have to remind him as they are very busy and haven't received it yet but I know this company will always come through to completion and do what they say, at least from our experiences thus far. Quality work and knowledgeable, easy to work with, and I think a good value given they really work within your budget and offer solutions to cut costs to still get the look you want without jeopardizing quality. Very very pleased now wish the weather would improve so we can enjoy our new patio and landscaping.

Jacob came, walked around and talked with me to find out what issues needed to be addressed. The plan he sent me later basically was a recap of everything I suggested to him. In essence, all ideas were mine, he contributed none. Since it was a "Super Deal" this was really reasonable, but I am afraid I got what I paid for.

It went well. They seemed to be very knowledgeable. He had specific questions for my walling.

Jacob is very nice and personable. I have a budget that couldn't be met with the design provided and I could not go beyond my budget. Jacob asked that I request this refund.

There were no additional charges beyond the big deal amount. Other than doing the plan, we didn't do anything with them. They provided the plan and that's all we requested of them.
