Jesse at Landscape Design Solutions visited my home, and spent considerable time walking the property with me to discuss options for a complete rebuild of my backyard landscaping. I requested the removal of various 30+ year-old plantings including arborvitae, honey-suckle hedge, a vegetable garden and flower bed. Jesse recommended various new options to create color and texture during all seasons of the year. He answered all my questions and said I would receive a complete plan via email. When the plan arrived, it included labeled scale drawings and a detailed breakdown of pricing. After reviewing the plan with my out-of-town children, I decided to request a few changes, which I discussed with Jesse via telephone. Jesse then prepared a revised plan for my final approval. Based on Jesse's recommendation regarding the weather, we agreed it would make sense to clear the site first, but hold installation of the plantings until fall. This would also make it possible for a separate contractor to remove and replace a perimeter fence entangled by the existing shrubbery. Jesse scheduled the site clearing crew to accomplish the work in a single day. When finished, the crew had cleared and leveled the entire perimeter of the yard, preparing it for the fence removal, and for planting in the fall. Based on Jesse's creative landscape plan, and quality work to-date, I have every confidence the fall planting will result in a job well-executed from start to finish. I have additional landscaping and brickwork in the side yard and front yard I hope to complete over the next few years, and will certainly consider using Landscape Design Solutions, LLC for future work.

Well we purchased this Big Deal in the spring and the company was overloaded with business that he couldn't come out for a few weeks and then took 2 more months to get the design. I appreciate the help in plant selections or suggestions but a 3 month turn around is way too long. I probably won't be using them if it takes this long to do business.

We were impressed with Jesse's professionalism, courtesy and his landscape plan. We are going to use Landscape Design Solutions later this summer and fall to replace a fence, remove overgrown plantings and renew our landscape.

After meeting with Jacob and ultimately received the purchased landscape design, which took some time as I guess many others had done the same, I found it odd that he would not provide a quote at the same time they provided the design. Instead, they said they would provide a quote upon request, and made odd comments like "we do not make any changes to the designs unless we are performing the work". In any case, we did get back to them with a modified plan and asked them if they would like to quote. Their first response was that they would only quote if we would accept doing the work further out in time, to which we agreed. Weeks went by with no further response until finally they sent a note saying they wanted to quote but lost the plan. We sent them a new one and after a week they responded with a detailed explanation as to why they would not be quoting the job. They said they would not "subject themselves to" certain requests we made, like making sure the quality of the plants/trees were good before they installed them. Instead of simply saying "no thank you", or respond with a quote adding stipulations/modifications to the quote which they could accept or even calling us up to discuss it, they sent a rather condescending and what I took as a rather angry response. Ok, I get the fact that they can choose the jobs they want to do, but this exchange was quite unprofessional. They may be great a what they do, but getting a proposal out of them is like pulling teeth and they would benefit greatly with a little more professionalism when dealing with potential customers. In this case, there is no question that less would have been much, much more.

The representative was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. However, he did not seem anxious to actually do any of the landscape work. He suggested that I contact other companies to plant trees, overseed the lawn or do masonry work. . He did suggest that he would be glad to submit a proposal to plant shrubs and flowers round my front porch. I got the distinct impression they were not really interested in doing anything but providing a plan I understand that the " big deal" was to provide a landscape plan,which they did complete.

They came out last May 7th and discuss about what our plans were for our yard basically on what we kind of want to do and have this little process on what type of flowers we like, colors and I wanted kind of low maintenance item added to our yard. They got right back with me shortly after I purchased the big deal and they were on time when they said they would come. He kind of analyze those in our front yard for now because that’s where wanted to go beyond and what we could replace or change to add better to kind of fits the house. Then they just basically did up a whole scale drawing with all the different flowers that would work filling our yard. They came out with a plan that we actually like that would basically work.

Our experience was absolutely terrible. The Angie’s Deal was $49, and they did not charge more than that. The estimate was pretty bad. It was very inadequate. They just kind of said a ton of stuff, and $1 amount for all these different service. So, there was really no working out of a particular area 3:39-3:43. It was more like half of the entire yard. This is what it would be for the whole half or something like that. It was very vague. The estimate actually did not include some of the items that were supposed to be done as well like materials that he would need. They promised us to be done by this date, and then we contacted them I think about a week after that date, and they told us that they will have it done that weekend. Two weeks later, they still have not done it. So, we had to contact them again. It was basically a month overdue. 5:35-5:38.

We are not going to use them for the landscaping. They came out to our home and look at fixtures and they gave us a really nice plan and the quote for everything. It was little more than what we were able to pay, but it was not just extraordinarily high. I think we are just going to do the work ourselves with that plan. I would use them in the future.

They came out about 4 to 6 week ago and have been putting us off on the completion of the work. They told us when they came to look at our existing landscaping that they had had a large response to the offer on Angie's list and it might be a few weeks before they would have the work completed. As to whether I would use them again. That depends on the design when we see it.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal purchase that I made. 2:33-2:40 and I'm not a flower person. The way to start it around my house, they were telling me what flowers that can be placed where and the mulch that we'll pick and it's going to 3:04-3:08 of what they recommended around the house. They were great, it's just that this is a busy season and they haven't gotten back with me with that. Once I get this, I won't need them anymore.

Cannot fully review as I have not received the plan or costs as of 5 June. Not sure yet on future use, but you don't provide any other options than Y/N

Overall good experience. Very professional.

He was very knowledgeable and discussed the different levels of service, from the minumum of plant location and bed design,to actually making the beds and doing the planting, to rock scaping and more. The plans he sent me were very detailed and more than I expected. He also gave me tips about the plants I alreay have and how to improve my curb appeal easily and quickly. I would definitely use this company for more when I get the funds to do so.

It worked out well, nice guy, he did what he said we would do and I was happy. I spent at least half an hour talking to him. He really went out of his way to understand what we like so he would give us something that would work. You could tell right away he knew what he was talking about.

Landscape Design Solutions showed up on time and even worked during the coldest portion of this winter to complete our hardscape! We're totally happy with our results! We have a great landscaper and some new friends!

They visited my house and drew up a design which I like very much. They submitted a detailed quote if they were to complete the plantings. The design person was very knowledgeable and after a couple changes I will meet with him to begin phase one of the work.

Prompt. Showed up and talked with me about what we are hoping to accomplish. Sent drawings and estimates back within a few days. Even suggested some other businesses who could handle some of the project that they could not.

The Big Deal was " $49 for Complete Landscape Design Consultation Including Scale Drawings!" I promptly sent an email after purchasing this Angie's Big Deal to arrange a time for the consultation and gave detailed information about what I was looking for. The next day I received a generic response e-mail asking the exact same information I had already sent. They then responded and a consultation time was set. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time April 19, 2013. Upon arrival he asked me the same information that I had already sent in the email. I told him I needed a plan for my yard with the type of plants and where to plant them because I could do the work, I just needed his help with design. The deal had said it was for a landscaping plan for the entire yard but it quickly became apparent that was not in his plan. I had several areas I showed him (around my barn, fence, back yard) and he kept wanting to stay around the perimeter of the house, even stating he was just going to do around the porch and the deck. He did not even enter myback yard. I gave them a C because at this point my son opened one of the doors and my dogs got out, ran down the street and I had to go get them. He stayed and took measurements while I was chasing my dogs. I brought one dog back to the house and he was leaving, which was fine, but I never heard from them again. No follow up questions about my yard, no landscape plan has been sent. UPDATE: I was contacted by Angies List today and was given the plan directly from Angies List. I was told it was sent to the wrong e-mail address. I had already corresponded with the company twice with no problems. The person who came to my home did not state the quality of the design was different since I would be doing the work myself or that he would only be designing around the deck. My understanding was that it would include the front of the house and the deck. In addition, if I had been given a choice I would not have picked the area behind my house to be designed-it would have been the front of my house (the area that everybody sees every day). Nowhere does it say in the deal that you only get a decent plan if you are going to have them install the plants, and the person who responded obviously does not care what the deal states- he is just going to do what he wants. I did still pay this person $50 to come to my home and do a landscaping plan, he did not valiantly donate his time as he would make it seem. I'm not sure why the person who responded to this review felt the need to discuss my dogs...this man was at my house for a business appointment, I did not expect him to help me find my dogs, that is not his job. I did not expect him to delay his schedule because my dogs got out, but a follow up call or email to finalize plans would have been nice since I was otherwise disposed when he was at my house. The bottom line is this company took my money and did what they felt I should get for it, not what was stated on the deal, and are acting very angry that I am not happy with this judging from their response. I like to get what I am told I am paying for, I'm so sorry my expectations are so high. If I had known how I was going to be treated I NEVER would have spent the money. Unfortunately, the way these deals are set up the businesses can do whatever they want with your money already in their pocket.

Outstanding work...better than anticipated!

Jacob, met with me to discuss landscaping goals for the front of our home. Our goals included creating a walking path to our front door and replacing and updating the shrubs, trees, and plants for better curb appeal year-round. He created a plan and contacted me within 2 weeks to set up a meeting for reviewing the plan. Jacob was very patient with us, as our schedule was crazy and we were unable to meet with him for about 8 weeks! We finally met and my husband and I were pleased with his design. He listened to our needs and is completing cost estimates using a variety of options for materials and work so that we can make choices in line with our budget. We are awaiting his estimates to decide how to proceed.

The company did give me a timely estimate; however, I did not use the service. I received a timely email with an estimate and a layout of the proposed landscaping. The only reason I did not use the company was that I realized I (rather than the company) did not have a clear idea of what I actually wanted in landscaping. I had not done enough research on "the look" I wanted. The company seemed professional and I would call them again once I had a better idea of what I wanted.

I liked them; they did fine and were on time. I had a couple of issues with the place without the rocks so they came out and fixed that. Their pricing was a little high.

Jacob came to the house and listened to my wants and gave suggestions. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He also gave suggestions for the existing lawn and what I could buy and apply myself without trying to sell me something. He e-mailed me the estimate a couple weeks later. The estimate was a fair price for the labor and materials. I will more than likely have his company do the project.

The company owner met with us and did a walk around of our current landscaping. He measured the landscaping areas and asked us questions about what we thought we would like the new landscaping to look like. He answered all of our questions and said he would provide us with design drawing in the next several weeks. We are awaiting the drawings.

We initially had scheduling problems due to unforseen circumstances, which were easily worked out. Mr. Basnett came to the house and reviewed the current landscaping. He made several recommendations and suggestions. A few weeks later a written document was emailed to me with the recommendations and suggestions, and the approximate cost to implement the recommendations. We are currently reviewing the document.
