Expert Garage Doors

We have two single garage doors, each with their own openers, and one had started having issues. You had to stand in the garage and hold the button down in order to get it to close and the controller in the car could open the door but not close it. My husband is pretty handy and did some research and replaced the infrared sensors, but we were still having the same problem. I found Expert Garage Doors through Angie's List. Making an appointment was easy (something I've learned to not take for granted in year three of a top to bottom renovation and dozens of contractors) -- they're very professional. My husband met the guy at the house and he didn't give us any grief at all for trying to fix the problem ourselves -- even told my husband he had tried the right things. After a lot of prodding and poking, they figured out that the mother board in the opener itself had gone bad. He explained our options -- replacing the mother board for about $250 or just replacing the system for $400. Since the overall system was getting old, we went for the full system. He didn't have one with him so we had to make a second appointment to have it installed, but were able to arrange to give him access to the garage while we were at work and he made the change and then locked up everything securely when he left. Overall, it was a very positive experience and we would not hesitate to use them again.

For something that affects you every day like garage doors, it's silly to wait on maintenance. This is our second time using Expert Garage Doors. Corey came within the designated time, did all the work in what I thought was very, very cold weather (it was probably in the 20s that day), explained everything that he did and what the charges were. He included a repeat customer discount. He was personable, professional, and efficient. They are our go-to garage door company!

I found Expert Garage Doors through a Google search. I picked them because their website was the only professional one I found for a local company. I arranged the appointment through email with Angela which went well. We picked a date when the weather looked good, seeing how its the middle of winter, and Corey showed up on time on what turned out to be a great day. I thought the broken spring had caused my opener to go bad as well, but Corey was honest about it being fine, just needing new springs. He worked quickly, then showed everything he had done and showed that the weather stripping had been improperly installed, causing it to knock on the door as it goes up and down. He asked if I wanted to move it, or he could for an extra half hour charge so I went ahead and had him do it. The price seemed very fair to me, so overall I was very happy with my service.

They did a great job. They were very experienced.

They do a great job of working with landlords for rental homes! I call and give instructions on what I need done and they make arrangements with the tenant to get access and perform the work without me needed to go to the property. Have used them multiple times and will continue to do so.

The manual pull cord that hangs from the garage door opener got caught inside the sliding door of our minivan. As I backed out of the garage the rope began to pull the door closed. I didn't realize what was happening until I heard a crunch sound as the door was making contact with the top of the van. Afterward the door looked undamaged but did not seem to be operating as smoothly as before and it also sounded noiser than we remembered. We bought the Big Deal on Angie's list from Expert Garage Doors. Their technician came out promply and accessed the situation. He showed me where two of the rollers were completely off of the track...somehow we didn't notice this ourselves. The door was also buckeling slightly outward at the bottom. As per the Big Deal he replaced the rollers and did some general maintenance on the opener. He also spent quite a bit of time bolting the door down so that it would no longer buckle at the bottom (this was not included in the price of the Big Deal but I was not charged any extra for the repair). The technician probably spent over an hour and half working on my garage door. I was very satisfied and would definitely hire them again or recommend them to others.

He did an excellent job. The door has worked well since. In fact I wish I could find someone as good to fix my garage door in our house in South Carolina!

I took advantage of an Angie's List Garage Door Tune-Up special by Expert Garage Doors. This service was pre-paid through the Angie's List website. Russ Corey contacted me to schedule/confirm the appointment. He showed up on time, was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He took the time to explain what he was going to do, and informed me of his findings, what adjustments were made, and what his tips/recommendations were. Russ gave me a receipt with all this information on it, including the Warranty information (1 year parts/90 days labor for service/repairs). Our garage doors worked wonderfully after this service. We would definitely call Expert Garage Doors again. My apologies for not submitting this review in a more timely manner.

Wow! This is an excellent company. After completing the opener installation, Russ thoroughly explained the new opener (warranty, maintained schedule, cleaning, operation, etc). He was prompt, courteous and knowledgable. Since the installation we have called for other services such as a seal replacement and a broken coil and have not been disappointed by the quality of customer service or work performed. Angie in the office returns calls promptly, is very courteous and schedules appointments in a very reasonable amount of time. I would highly recommend this company.

I had Mr. Corey to perform some maintenance work to my old garage door and at that time, I was so impressed with his work and honest personality. Therefore, I decided to replace a new garage door with the company. Shortly later, he sent me the estimate with several choices to choose from. While I was visiting their web site, I noticed that they had a special on garage door openers. Since my door was going to be brand new so I asked him to install the new opener as well. I ordered a door and was finished with my preferences. On the appointment day, he arrived promptly as scheduled and started to work right away. He worked hard from beginning to the end and completely cleaned up the mess. My old garage door was a bad shape because I run into it accidentally two years ago so that the garage door's frame got damaged little as the result. He even fixed that part for me and the garage door closes perfectly. I am very pleased and will use the company again, but it would be too silly to run into the new door to get the opportunity again though. Thanks for the superb job!

Our garage door stopped working so I contacted Expert Garage Doors. I spoke to Russ and we set up a date and time that was convenient for us. He was prompt and finished the job the same day for a fair price. I would highly recommend this company for any garage door repair & plan on using them for any future issues.

I was having trouble getting my door to open especially after I bumped into it. I was expecting him to try and get me to order a new door and/or door opener. He did make recommendations due to the fact both are so old but did not force. He did a tune-up, replaced a door hinge and installed safety cables on my springs. Did a good job, very nice.

I called the company because they had positive reviews on Angie's List. I was pleasantly surprised that they could come the next day (another company could not come for over a week), The garage door would not open by itself. Russ quickly found that the teeth on a gear in the door opener were sheared off and the gear needed to be replaced. He made the repairs and also explained to me that it was worth it to repair the opener as opposed to buying a new system which some companies would have tried to sell me.

The whole experience was very efficient and easy. Russ came at the arranged time, installed the new belt-drive opener, did annual maintenance on the door, and explained to me how to use the keypad and remotes, etc. I am very pleased with how quiet the new opener is compared to my old one. I wish I had done this sooner. I am very pleased with the service I received and the product.

Called for an estimate for new garage door. Receptionist on phone was very pleasant. Scheduled service for new garage door within the week. They showed up on time and quickly installed new door. Works like a charm and is very quiet. Easy to use as well. I would use this company in the future.

Called and needed a repair immediately as I needed to get out of my garage. Russ returned call promptly and arrived the same day. He made the repair on the one garage that needed repair and even went beyond by making a service call on the other. Garage door works beautifully! Great service and excellent customer care.
