A Treemendous Design

Excellent! The entire crew was very professional and personable. The job was delayed for a day or so due to rain but the team was very communicative about the time and expectations. I had a few additional requests when the team arrived and there was no hesitation on their part to help. I would absolutely hire this company again.

We worked with Steve at A Treemendous Design LLC. We were so impressed with Steve's professionalism. He was fast with responses to questions and patient with us as we discussed our ideas for a patio. He provided us with a design idea that fit exactly what we were looking for. Ultimately we were not able to use A Treemendous Design for our project but were impressed with their professionalism and expertise. Steve truly listed to what we were looking for and what kind of budget we were working with to provide us with his ideas on how the pieces could all fit together.

After waiting 2 month for less than a days worth of work, We weren't happy with the results. It's not horrible, it just coudl be better. prior to the service date, we called to change the location of a step and the plant placement was not re-configured to accommodate. Also, the mulch was not built up as discussed. Also, for the price, the size of the shrubs should have been bigger; they are so small. When we called to let them know we were not happy with the work, we were told he would be back a few days later. He gave my husband a date. He never showed. My husband left a few messages and weeks passed before we received a return call. The call included lots of excuses. It still is not fixed 7 days later. We are less than pleased and would not recommend this company.

I am extremely pleased with their responsiveness, the quality of their work and their pricing. I have had some changes in what I've wanted done and they have gone out of their way to meet my needs.

After our dogs destroyed the grass in our backyard we contacted A Treemendous Design to see what could be done to restore our lawn. After a great consultation session discussing our options we decided to lay sod in the backyard, remove some plants we did not like, fix our existing beds, create a new bed and reseed a portion of our front yard. A Treemendous Design came out and did a great job. The new backyard looks great, the sod appears to be of high quality and the front yard was seeded and covered with sod. Overall they exceeded our expectations and our yard looks great. On a plus side once they finished the work Derek even emailed us pictures of the completed work so we could see it (as we were not at home) and provided a watering guide on how to water the new yard. So far we have not had any issues with any of the work done.

They came when they wanted to come. I requested them on a specific day of the week and they said, no they couldn't do that. They were kind of rude about it. Maybe they should have more concern for their customers. I don't who we'll use this year. There's a possibility that we might use them.

I was out of town when they cut the trees down. They did a good job contacting me, letting me know they were on their way. I paid them by check when I returned from out of town. They were very easy to deal with and I didn't feel pressured. Great company!

Steve was more than helpful and very responsive to our needs. He visited several times and incorporated our desires into his plan. This was not true of another landscaper who did not listen to us and came up with a total redesign of our yard. We are very pleased with what was done for us. Between adding new beds, planting new plants and replanting existing plants, and adding the retaining it looked like a lot of work. Hopefully we can work together again.

A Treemendous Design provided poor service quality. - They used old, brown sod clearly leftover from another job. - They did not level the ground before installing the sod. - They left gaps of bare ground that they should have covered with sod. I asked them to come back to inspect the grass health and level the ground. They returned and partially leveled the ground. Regarding the health of the grass, they emailed me a "watering instructions" brochure. Perhaps they could just install healthy grass in the first place. The installed grass still does not look great, over two months later.

Consistently does a good job. Responsive to feedback and preferences. Office staff is easy to work with for questions and clarifications.

We used A Treemendous Design for an overhaul of our backyard. After completing an addition/renovation at our home, the backyard was torn up and mostly just dirt and weeds. A Treemendous Design was one of two companies we had give us estimates. Derek came out within a few days of me calling the company and also got us our estimate within a few days of meeting with us. He spent a lot of time walking the property with me, listening to my requests and also making suggestions. We appreciated that Derek was willing to accommodate our specific requests. What I appreciated most about working with A Treemendous Design was Derek's patience with my many questions and timely communication with me. Since we had some perennials that we wanted to save, Derek kept me in the loop about timing of the project so that we could transplant those plants a day or two before they started work. At my request, he also came out to our property an additional time the week before the project so that we could clarify which plants and trees we wanted to save and which could be cleared out with the weeds. I don't think that is a standard part of the process but we were very appreciative of that since we weren't able to be present when the work was actually being done. Meeting with Derek the week before allowed us to really solidify the plan and feel comfortable that it would be done correctly. We were also very pleased with the work that the crew did. The end result was exactly as we had envisioned and discussed with Derek. The majority of the work was done in one day, with the crew just having to come back for a short time the second day to finish things up. Derek was very accessible to us throughout the process via email, phone, and text. Since I was at work on the day the crew did the project, Derek even texted me photos of what they had completed and gave me an update on what was finished and what needed to be done the following day. If we are ever in need of landscaping services again, we'll definitely give A Treemendous Design a call.

Steve came out and put a new hardscape in on the front driveway. Also added a new flower bed with natural stones.. On the side of my house we have a steep hill so Steve put in 3 natural steps with flag sone for our trash and recycling to go on. Then he bury down our downspout and sump pump drain in the ground so it looks nicer... Also received new grass in front and side yard, lots of work to keep watering but the results are impressive..

Initial work was completed in August 2013. Work was done in a timely manner, but we had a small miscommunication about what areas of the flowerbeds were to get landscape cloth between the dirt and mulch. Steve made it right, however. I was initially happy with the work, which was done in the late summer, but the following spring, one of the perennials did not come back and the paver edging had popped back up in several places along the walkway. I contacted Steve in April 2014. He said his crews were behind, but he would get back to me to fix the problems. He contacted me in late May 2014, apologizing for the delay and reassuring me he had not forgotten me. Heard nothing until July, when I contacted him again. He said he thought it had been taken care of. I assured him it had not. Two weeks later, two of his workers showed up while I was working in the yard. They didn't greet me and when I approached them, they seemed annoyed. They then stuck a half-dead plant in the ground where the old plant had been, started stomping and hammering down the parts of the plastic paver edging that had popped up until it was even with the ground again, and left. I was expecting them to dig back up the areas where the edging had popped up and re-lay it properly, but they were gone before I could say anything to them. (I literally went into the house as they were starting to work on the paver edging to get them some water bottles since it was a hot day, and when I came out, their truck was gone.) As I suspected, the new perennial died and the hammered-down edging popped right back up this spring. I don't want to go thru the hassle of calling Steve again and asking him to make it right, but this all would've been prevented (and my review more glowing) if his workers had just taken the time to re-do the job properly when they came back out. For such a good start, I'm quite disappointed in the lack of attention and quality in the follow-up work.

I am handicapped and I can no longer do yard work so it was important for me To have contract a company that gives me peace of mind I needed to know I dealing with an honest and sincere company, They are HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL the crew was well managed they were quick without cutting corners They did everything they said they would do. Excellent cleaning out the overgrown beds, weeding control, mulching I have used there services over the past 4 years with a no problems. My lawn is cut on schedule and always looks great. The office manager Carol is WONDERFUL she is ALWAYS WILLING to help And get your request a speedy response.

We have a new build and ran into difficulties getting builder, Coppertree, to finish the job right. We had standing water and Coppertree told us it was our problem to resolve. We needed a final grade, sod, landscaping, beds cut out, and mulch. We found the right company to get things taken care of!!! This was a fairly big job and we worked primarily with Steve Beck. He was simply outstanding! After several calls to other companies and getting the run around and being told one thing and have another happen, it was refreshing to finally work with a company that is responsible. Not only is Treemendous responsible, they treat customers as though they were family and do exactly what they say they are going to do. This is a first rate firm that has highly dedicated employees that want to do the right things. The employees here are really hard workers. The crew is largely an American crew, they re highly committed to customer satisfaction and simply do great work. If you have called other companies and have been dissapointed by lack of response, follow thru, or just plain have had quality issues, Treemendous is the company to call. They are HIGHLY dependable, do what they say are going to do and are very trustworthy. They inform you of their schedule, show up when they say they will, and do exactly what's expected (if not more). These guys do things right.......do not call anybody else....you will be dissapointed if you do. These guys are simply awesome and we're so lucky to have found them. Look no further....this is the company you should choose. We had no affiliation nor had we even heard of them before finding them here on Angies List. Trust the list and the countless other customers that have given these guys and "A", nobody deserves it more!

We are very happy with the work that Steve and his team completed with our landscaping. Steve has a very good feel for landscape design and did an exceptional job of listening to our ideas and likes and incorporating them into the final design plan. The quoted cost for all of the work was competitive and Steve took extra steps to show all of the detailed costs to show he was not price gouging us. Following us approving the design and quote, Steve worked with the Muirfield Association to receive complete approval for the plan without us having to stress about moving to forward for approval. Steve's team was very hard working and attacked the project from all sides. The overhaul took less time than quoted and they did a great job of cleaning up once everything was done. Following the work, Steve walked us around the landscape beds and took time to educate us on how to take care of everything moving forward. One of the only negative things I can say about Steve and his team is that they need to work on communication. The team was so active and large that at times the workers made minor mistakes because they were ahead of schedule and they did not know all of the details of the plans. I pointed this out to Steve and in all situations and he took time to correct the mistakes and make sure we were happy with the results before the final payment was made. I would recommend a TREEmendous Design to everyone needing landscaping help. While they can improve their communication as a team, Steve has a great mind for design and he has a very hard working team.

We obtained four estimates from Angies list providers for our retaining wall project which included removing a 29 year old dry stacked wall around our pool. Steve came to our home several times to refine the design. A Treemendous Design was the second highest bid but we chose them since their estimate was the most detailed and included an itemized list of the work to be done and materials provided. The work was completed in nine days. We have never seen such a hard working crew. They showed up on time and the site was cleaned up everyday when they finished. Most days there were 10 men working here. They did a great job on our 60 foot long, 42" high retaining wall with six steps and lighting. They also installed pavers in front of the pool house and a flagstone walk to the steps from the deck. They had temporarily relocated many of our hostas before they started and were able to replant them successfully. The lawn was regraded and seeded and all disruption to the lawn, flowers and landscaping was repaired to our, and our neighbors, satisfaction. It now looks better than ever! We couldn't be happier with the results.

It was phenomenal. They’re very efficient. The job is done quickly and neatly. The billing is efficient as well. They’re very friendly when you speak with them on the phone. When you need something extra done, they’re very accommodating.

It went very well. I’ve been using them five years. They are dependable.

It was fine. We’ve used them a couple of times. They are reasonable to deal with, scheduled things to our convenience, and we found them very easy to work with.

Derek came to the house within a couple of days of my initial call. He made notes of what we wanted and made suggestions. We signed the contract and paid 40% up front. The work was scheduled promptly, although it was delayed about a week because of very rainy weather. Derek was very communicative via email. He brought a crew with him on the day promised, and they accomplished the work in about 3 hours. They were polite, careful, and neat. We are very happy with the work. We asked Derek to put us on the list for spring clean-up and mulching.

They did a good job, they always came on time and they kept the grass short. I have no complaints.

It took quite a while (4 -5 weeks) to kill the ivy. The plantings seemed somewhat random; we like plants in drifts, not a random plant here and there. They came back and moved some plants for us. Two years later, we are very pleased with the hostas they planted -- some are huge and beautiful. We have continued to move some plants ourselves. Some are planted too close to others and are being overtaken. Others cannot be seen as the plants in front have grown to be much larger than the plants in the back. The landscaping survived the derrechio and this past winter, with only two bushes succumbing to the extreme heat of two years ago and the extreme cold of last winter.

It's been good. They've done a great job with coming and cleaning up after themselves. They do a great job and then they leave. The most difficult part isn't really their fault but when the weather isn't too good we don't know when they'll be able to come out. The cost of the service for the Summertime is about $300. We don't get mulch in the Summer so it's less than the Spring one.
