+ 0 moreTreemendous had been doing our landscaping for about 1.5 years. In the fall, after not hearing from them to schedule to fall cleaning of the beds etc. we went with another company. Treemendous came out within a few days without calling, proceeded to do some work, then billed us for the entire clean-up (which had already been done). After complaining, the first response was to request that we pay for the entire "quoted" amount, but after on-going disputes, the company relented and reduced their fee to a smaller amount. In addition, the Spring 2010 service was to include reseeding an area in the front lawn, put in new shrubs, and filling a depression in the front bed (all repairs made to correct digging related to the exterior water main line). The depression is still there, the holly plants they planted appear dead, and the grass seeding had as many weeds as it did grass. Overall, the experience declined over the course of our time with this company. The company does good work mulching and cleaning beds, but the customer service, other types of work, communication, and follow-up, are not the best.
Description of Work: In 2010, they were to clean and edge the beds, trim the plants, mulch, repair a depression in the front flower bed, and reseed an area of grass in the front yard.

+ 0 moreA Treemendous Design did a great job on a large landscape design plan we had already developed for part of our 6 acre site. They were very good on price. They were personable, trustworthy and had positive attitudes. The crew was hard working and eager to make things right. Steve Beck and his staff were receptive to requests for changes and alterations. They were able to meet our deadlines. I have and will continue to recommend them to folks looking for landscape installation services, big and small.
Description of Work: A Treemendous Design installed hardscapes and softscapes as part of a large landscape design plan. They cut and installed a great patio with fire pit and sculpted a large oval bed tiered with large stones and lots of plants. They prepped a huge area of land under trees for hundreds of plants, planting them for us. They lined our long driveway with stones to manage water runoff down a hill.

+ 0 moreWell, I just did that above, not much else to stay, except we were well informed the whole time, the crew was very nice and polite. They gave suggestions, helped replant our own perennials, and made sure the job was done right. They worked hard and were pleasant to be around, they cleaned up their messes and were efficient and professional.
Description of Work: Steve Beck, with Treemendous Design came out in May to give me an estimate, and spent an hour with me discussing what we'd like, sharing his ideas, showing me pictures of previous work that matched what we wanted, and really was friendly and professional. Overall, we had a remodeling of a once ornamental pond, and transformed it into a stepper patio with firepit. We added an additional bed across the back of our house, added trees and bushes for privacy and color, and added edging and mulching of our playground area. When the large 6 to 8 man crew came they worked like clockwork, taking the pond out, placing the prior rocks down by our easement drainage areas, leveled this area and began work on removing sod bringing in topsoil and adding a bed along our house exterior. They worked hard and completed the project in 2 working days. They returned this past Monday to complete the playground area and staked the trees. There were slight additional expenses but everything was discussed and Steve himself was on hand to talk it over and worked with the men to create the firepit to our liking. Overall we love our new remodeled patio and have added a large area of relaxing space. No more looking at a muddy, algea filled pond. We have beautiful arborvitae, a weeping cherry, and some other great bushes, plus they incorporated our existing perennials and divided them to get more for our money. We are very pleased.

They are very responsive via email and phone if you need anything or have any questions, and the crew that comes to our house every week is both quick and efficient. We've already received several compliments about our yard, and Treemendous deserves all the credit.
Description of Work: We fielded many, many estimates for landscaping, and decided to go with Treemendous. They had the best prices and didn't charge us a bunch of extra money for having a fence and gate that requires them to use a smaller mower in the backyard.

+ -1 moreIt went great! They got started a day or two late, but Steve let me know leading up to the planned date that for various reasons they would be a little late. His crew was very courteous and worked quickly and efficiently. We had gotten two quotes from other companies and they came in at roughly twice the cost of Steve - Steve seemed more than happy to work with my budget, not his. He delivered a great looking end product at a price we could afford. Additionally, I had asked him what it would cost to build a stone wall - he indicated based upon the wall that I had built, I would save about $500 by doing it myself. Again, his honesty was greatly appreciated.
Description of Work: I had personally replanted all of the flowers beds in the front of our home several times over the last couple of years; many plants did not take or the appearance was not what I wanted. Steve came and gave me a quote for pulling down the beds, re-edging and replanting everything in the front. His crew planted roughly 25 new items and kept a couple of existing items we liked (they even planted a couple of things we picked up at Home Depot). He also cut in a new flower bed around our 9 white pines on the back of our property.

The guys performing the work accidentally cut into my electric dog fence, but immediately fixed the problem. I also contracted for grass cutting. Same standard. Excellence. I will definitely use this company again.

Description of Work: I first contacted them to do a spring clean up - mulching, edging and weeding. They responded quickly with the estimate but then it was difficult. I sent the signed contract in immediately but then heard nothing. I stated on the contract we would pay by VISA and he said great. It also said on Angies List that they accepted credit cards. Not so. But they did not tell us until after we asked for an estimate on a patio as well. Cindi called us and said he only does estimates during the week - during the day. Kind of hard when you work. She very reluctantly said he would be out at 6 pm one week later. Then after all this we finally got an email that they do not accept credit cards. I felt they just did not want our business.

+ -1 moreSteve came out an did our estimate. He really listened to what we wanted to do, and devised a plan on how to execute it while giving us ideas and the benefit of his years of experience. We never felt pressured to do more than what we had the budget for, and we did not experience any surprise 'add ons'. The work was immediately scheduled, and the crew came out and worked for several hours on our project. The crew was respectful, courteous, and did an exceptional job. The final cost was exactly what was estimated. If you are looking for cheap landscaping, Treemendous is not it. If you are looking for a reputable company that does a quality job that you will be happy about, then look no further!
Description of Work: Total clean up and overhaul of neglected landscaping at our place of business, including: edging, weeding, pruning, tree trimming, plant removals/additions, plant relocation and mulching.

When we met the second time to go over the design and discuss options there was no pressure to allow them to do the work or to add on extra things that would drive the cost up. As a matter of fact, I was so impressed that I requested a few additions.
Description of Work: Initial contact was made on a design for landscape. The price was so reasonable that I had A Treemendous Design Landscape install the entire design. Areas with substantial weeds were killed and all old landscaping was removed and all new plants including shrubs and trees was installed in two days.
