I didn't end up having the repairs done yet but my fence is starting to tilt. I contacted several companies and Capitol Fence is the only one that came out within 1-2 days to give an estimate on repairs. Their pricing seemed competitive. They were very friendly and I really appreciated the effort (especially since they weren't the ones who put the fence in to begin with)!

They worked well. They dealt with my crazy neighbor well. My only complaint is that they didn't seem to want to warranty their work or return to my home to investigate issues after the job was complete. During the job, they were professional and courteous.

Great work and very professional. We plan on hiring them again to extend the fence they installed.

Originally gave us quotes for various options and referrals we could check out. material was ordered as soon as deposit was received and did installation day after material received. Quote and installation ran smoothly with no issues. Would recommend them to all.

When you call you have to leave a message and he usually calls you back in a day or so. He comes out to give an estimate within a week of your calling. I think within 6 weeks he was installing the fence. His workers were polite and cleaned up after themselves and he came to check on the job himself. Work was completed fairly quickly and we were pleased with the job.

The project was a 5'/6' wooden fence with 3 gates. I'd like to start by saying, I do not like writing reviews that are not positive, but unfortunately, sometimes it just has to be done, or angies list would not be an honest platform. All in all I wished I had walked around my neighborhood, looked at other peoples fences, and chosen the contractor based on visible existing work, so I could see what I would be getting. Let me just say that the owner was open to fixing all mistakes, but it got the point where I had to just stop with asking to fix things. Also the quality is not something I expect from a company that focuses on fences. Also let me say, I feel bad that one of the guys building the fence had a death in the family mid-project. Would our experience had been different had that not happened? I don't know. Some examples of things gone wrong: We had a written agreement that went over the plan for the fence. That plan was not followed, resulting in some redoing work such as: -We requested to have 3 poles go higher than the fence line so we could put solar light caps on (a good suggestion from the owner). However, that was not done. The fix was adding about another 2 feet of wooden pole, with 'trim' added to hide the mistake (see photo). -We requested the one gate to have a certain kind of lock, only to come home and find the wrong lock installed. They said it was because the lock we requested could not be installed on a gate that swung in. Understandable, However, this is something where the contractors should call the house owner, explain the situation, then decide on action. Not just install something the owner didn't ask for. -We requested there to be a dip in the back gate for security purposes so we could see over it before we went to our cars. This was not done. So they had to redo the gate. Other things I am disappointed in: -the nails used are rusting already and the fence has been up barely a month. -There quality of wood is not good. Sure we chose to build with the lowest quality wood, but i wouldn't expect that to mean there should already be cracks in every pole (which will soon dry rot due to water I'm sure). Our neighbors fences were made from the same material, are over 15 years old and don't have cracks like this). See photo. -There are also pieces of wood with chunks taken out (see photo) And other wood that looks like it is being setup to break already (see photos) Sadly, I'm sure we will be redoing this fence in the near future. I wish i hadn't had this experience and am sadly disappointed :(

Price was great. Bob was very responsive. Came up with creative design.

Went really well. Called other A list providers on Angie's list and they wouldn't even come out for an estimate b/c it was such a small job. Bob came out the next day and was able to complete the job in less than two weeks.

There was no attention to detail put into this fence. The boards instead of being measured, lines drawn and then cut, they were put up and then chopped off with a chain saw. I realize some of that needs to be done, particularly with the 4x4's, but doing it to the flat boards just makes it look like a mess. This method makes them different lengths, the cuts uneven and many boards are splintered. The fence looks like one that could have been put up by anyone, definitely not by a professional. I wish I could share pictures. Very unhappy.

Fantastic job! I've even received compliments from my neighbors. The fence is EXACTLY what I wanted. Mr. Hulvey, the driver that delivered the fence materials and the crew that built the fence were very professional but also personable. Everyone involved make sure I was aware of what was going on. The crew cleaned up so well that you won't even know they were there. I thought this procedure would take weeks but the job from start to finish took only days. I have nothing but praise for this company and highly recommend them. Should I ever decide to add more fencing they will be the one I call.

I emailed for an estimate and was promptly called and scheduled for the following day. Robert Hulvey was punctual and courteous and provided a quote on the spot. My quote was approximately 155 linear feet of aluminum fence with two gates - no custom work, or obstacles to contend with. I was quoted 6k - double the cost of 3 of the 5 quotes I have received. Very good service initially but I will go with a different contractor.

Super job. The crew of 3 worked hard, even thru the rain and they were very pleasant and respectful. Estimate, fencing ideas, service, time of completion was great.

Highly recommended. The Saturday after I contacted Capitol Fence, owner Robert Hulvey came to my home, listened to my ideas, custom-designed my fence, and gave me a highly-competitive written estimate. Mr. Hulvey was knowledgable about building codes and what could be done in my area. I was pleasantly surprised to find I could afford the fence I wanted. Within three weeks of first contacting the company, I had a beautiful new fence. Work area was left clean. Mr.Hulvey returned to inspect the work and make sure I was satisfied.

I was given Capitol Fence's name by another friend who used them. I have received estimates from at least 8 other companies and they were by far the most reasonable. However, I also wanted high quality and got just that. My neighbors had a fence put up last year and spent double what we spent and came to see our fence and said that they wished they had used Capitol as they had issues with their company from the beginning. I was very happy with the experience and the work that they did!

It was a bad week, and I came home to find that the corner of my fence, near my gate had collapsed. I have two dogs who easily could have gotten out through the hole that was created by the damage. Bob came out quickly and repaired the fence and the gate. It really put my mind at ease.

Capitol Fence provided a quote immediately after I requested it. The price was quite reasonable and lower than competing quotes. (We received one lower quote, but that person didn't have a web site, BBB presence, AL presence, and we couldn't be sure who he was or whether he was bonded or insured.) We were told they were scheduling work about 1 week ahead. There was a 6 day delay to this schedule, due to delays from the manufacturer, but we were nevertheless satisfied with the overall schedule of completion. The workers came and within a short time they were done. The workmanship was good, and the new fence looks great. The old fence was realigned and adjusted. The workers were polite and the workplace was clean when they left. We were very pleased with our interactions with this company would definitely recommend them to others.

I was given an estimate the day I initially called!! The repair personnel were very punctual, respectful and did a great job.The work included fixing the section that had come undone, and they had to remove a warped post completely and replace it with a new one. In addition, they were able to fix one post that was beginning to warp - without replacing it. They were also careful not to damage any of the vines growing on the fence. Would definitely use them again and will recommend to friends.

We had a great experience with Capitol. They were the first company out of three to give us a quote and they set the bar very high for everyone else in terms of friendliness, responsiveness and professionalism. They were not the cheapest quote (but only more pricey than the cheapest by $80), but I felt the most comfortable with them because of the reasons above. And we were not disappointed with the work. I got the initial quote on a Thursday and then asked for a second, slightly altered quote early the next week so that I could compare it more properly to the other quotes that had come in. Bob, the owner, personally delivered the new quote and called to follow up the next day (but in a helpful, not pestering, way). Once we signed the contract they came out the very next day and had the new fence completed in two days. The team who built the fence (two nice guys who did beautiful work) worked very hard and put in full days both days. We couldn't be happier with our new fence!

I had called several companies. No one was interested in doing a small job. Capitol Fencing came to the rescue. They replaced all damaged boards. They answer my questions about the condition of the fence. They were very nice and professional. The boards like great.

The owner, Robert Hulvey, came to my condo one day after I called to view the site and make a preliminary list of materials needed. He was personable, knowledgeable and truly concerned that we construct fencing ensuring the safety of the dogs. He also was aware of the need to meet condo association/property management standards. His suggestions and plans for the fence reflected his understanding and experience with this type of construction. He researched locally and on the web for the ideal fence material that would fit my needs. He gave me a written estimate and that became the final bill, no added costs. I paid one-half of the cost at the beginning, the rest due after construction and approval. When the special order arrived, my fence was in place the following day. The two workers were polite, professional, and competent. They worked non-stop and finished the job in less than four hours. Mr. Hulvey visited the site near the final stage of construction and we finished our paperwork. I had one question after construction and had an answer within 24 hours. The scalloped-narrow picket vinyl fence looks great, the dogs are safe and I am sure management will be pleased. I highly recommend this company and the people associated with them.

The owner was extremely responsive in giving me a quote. His price was on the high end of the quotes that I received, and he was willing to adjust the price to align with other quotes. He also worked with me to arrange the work to suit my schedule. However, the crew did not arrive until 6:30pm of the agreed upon date, and I had taken vacation to be home for the work. The crew was young and a little immature, but they handled themselves ok. They reschedule for the following week. I was not home when the work was done. Only a small section of fence was completed on their first day of work; the rest was completed the second day. Overall, the quality of the work was acceptable. I gave a lower rating here due to the following details: Scrap pieces of wire used to attached the wire fabric were left on my lawn. They are sharp and pose a hazard. Mulch and dirt that was removed to string the mesh properly were not put back in their original location. Instead, I had small trenches to refill. Some of the existing fence posts were spray painted silver to improve their appearance (with my agreement). However, there was overspray on my garage siding. If I were to use this company again, I would give more specific instructions and oversee the work personally to ensure that my standards were met.
