Perrysburg Asphalt

They do okay and I recommend them to others. Their work is fine and the price was competitive.

They were prompt with the estimate, because of weather and previous jobs, it was about 5 weeks before the work was started. And that was OK. They took out the old driveway, and called to tell us it would be a few days before they could put the new asphalt down because the driveway base was too soft. In the meantime, they said go ahead and park in the driveway on the stones. Here is where the problems started. The entrance to the driveway between the street and the sidewalk is about 12 x 5 feet. They had removed the old asphalt from this area, but they didn't put any stones down there. I knocked the heat shield off my muffler trying to pull into the driveway. Now, that was my own fault, I should have known it was too deep. I called Perrysburg Asphalt and told them the access from the street to the driveway was too deep, we couldn't pull our cars in. I called them on Friday morning. They said they would bring a load of stones out that afternoon, or saturday morning. Saturday afternoon a truck delivering my new doors got stuck in the entrance to the driveway. My neighbor brought over some pieces of wood, and we got the delivery truck unstuck. I called all weekend about that stone, only talked to an answering machine. On monday, I finally talked to a real person. He had forgotten about the stone. Whoops! They brought it monday afternoon. It was 3 weeks after that before Perrysburg Asphalt was able to put the new asphalt in. They said the base was still too soft, and they would keep checking every few days. Overall, I can't say the experience was a nightmare, but it was a big inconvenience. And it seemed like they had other more important things to do than my driveway.

It did not go well at all. Driveway was resealed 7/27, but cracks were not filled. I called and rescheduled another appointment for them to come out and fill the cracks. They came out 8/12 to fill in cracks, but did not reseal the driveway again. So, now I have a patchwork looking driveway with shiny asphalt filler in spots and matte black resealer on the rest of the driveway-- looks really homemade. I wrote a letter to the company explaining my dissatisfaction with their work and why. A couple days later, a woman in the office called to ask "What specifically was wrong with the driveway". That was the last straw. I explained that my letter was specific and if she didn't understand, I would not do business with them again. She was pleasant and I was pleasant. I thanked her for calling and hung up.

The cracks were not filled. They did not even sweep the leaves or twigs off the driveway before sealing. They went right over them. The owner said he would fill the cracks, but it wasn't done. I called to tell him that but he didn't seem to remember. Then I got a call from his office about someone coming out to look at the cracks and get back to me. They didn't.

Job went very well, no major problems.

I was very satisfied and they did an excellent job.
