2 men came to the house and performed the work. The cost was $225. My daughter's refrigerator was not working properly, food was freezing in the refrigerator, and after doing a Internet search I called Appliance Repair Toledo. I believe the man I spoke with was the owner of the company and after explaining the problem he said he could fix it. On the day of our appointment 2 men showed up.about 20 minutes late. It is a bottom freezer and they opened the freezer door and looked inside. Without doing any form of diagnostics they said it needed a new thermistor and it would cost $225. My daughter is a divorcee with 3 kids and needs the refrigerator to work properly so I told them to fix it.they spent about 15 minutes trying to figure out how to get the drawer out and approximately 30 minutes to replace the part. I wrote the check and told them to leave the replaced part. I was told to leave the refrigerator unplugged for 1 hour and then plug it back in and it would work. I waited and plugged it back in. That was on Jan. 13th. This is Feb. 5th and it still does not work. I took the part to a parts store and they said the cost was about $30. I tried to call the guy a couple of times and left a message that I thought his price was unreasonable for a $30 part that probably wasn't the problem to begin with since the refrigerator still does not work. I received no response. After I went to the parts store I tried to call him again and this time he answered.I again told him I thought his price was unreasonable. He became very angry and raised his voice. Apparently the guy at the parts store had called him and left a message that his price was way out of line. The guy at Appliance Repair thought I told the parts store to call him. I did not. The Appliance Repair guy said he was going to go to the parts store and punch the guy in face. He then told me to text him my address and he would send me a partial refund and to never call him again. There is no danger of that happening. As of today I have not received anything. I think I should get a full refund because he didn't fix the problem and I have to hire someone else that actually knows what they are doing to fix it. He took $225 of my money and my daughter still has a refrigerator that doesn't work. My daughter lives from paycheck to paycheck and I am retired but try to help out. Neither one of us has $225 to throw out the window. Maybe it comes under cheating the elderly out of their money.
