It was an urgent situation for us as elderly mother could not use downstairs bathroom and kitchen drains did not work. We truly appreciate their responsiveness and hard work.

+ 0 moreIt went well. The entire system was drained and the air was purged from the system. A new expansion tank was installed along with a water intake value and a bleeder value on top of the expansion tank.. Heat was restored to the cold zone ad system is operating again normally.

+ -1 moreThey were able to come out the day after I called. This was not an emergency but and inconvenience. The kitchen clog was just loose debris that became dislodged that I could have fixed had I known what the problem was (I guess that's why you pay a professional.) The bath spigot needed a part replaced that they did not have on their truck. They went and purchased the part, came back and replaced it. I thought the cost was a little on the high side but at the end of the day they fixed my problems.

+ -1 moreThe installers were on time and very competent. The new water heater works and looks great. I was originally quoted a much cheaper price, until I told the scheduler what kind of water heater I was replacing. She couldn't explain to me why I needed the more expensive model. Edake's quote was about $400 more than the other quotes I received. But, I was familiar with their company as they have done other jobs for me. That is why I still chose their business.

+ 2 moreI have used E. Dake for all of my plumbing and HVAC needs since 2001. They have installed a zone system in my house to make my A/C and heat work more efficiently and effectively, have replaced my hot water heater and performed innumerable plumbing repairs including replacing burst, frozen pipes, replacing cracked pipes, and unclogging drains when they need it. I have never had a bad experience with any of their technicians in all of those years. I find their prices to be fair and their workers professional, clean, and timely. They're pretty popular in this area so scheduling can sometimes be tricky but they are worth the wait.
Description of Work: Right before leaving for work, my furnace suddenly began to make loud and alarming booming noises which shook the entire house. I immediately shut it down and called E. Dake and scheduled them for my next day off. When the techs arrived that day, it was difficult to get the furnace to reproduce the noise but they persisted until they were able to hear the sound for themselves. Turns out the furnace needed to reach a certain temperature in order for it to make that sound which took awhile since it had been shut off for three days. Luckily, they were willing to give me the benefit of the doubt and wait it out. I suspect other contractors would have written me off as a crank call and left long before the furnace acted up again. From there, they were able to determine that a circuit board was failing and needed to be replaced. It took a few days for that particular board to come in from their supplier but they were able to get my furnace up and running shortly after replacing it and my furnace is now purring like a kitten once again.

When asked about getting a battery backup sump pump he tells me of a different system and that I probably do not need it at this time. Just wait till I get the basement finished.
