Heating element went out. SD sent a tech out to do an estimate. We scheduled the repair and then Ralph came and fixed it.
Description of Work: Ralph replaced a heating element. He does good work but price is on the high side.

We bought a house that had a non working spa on the deck. The deck is off the second story of the house with access through the house only. We thought we would have to dismantle the old spa, bit by bit ,to get it off the deck. We never thought we could have a new spa because there didn't seem to be a way to get one through the house. I talked to Ralph from Spas Direct about the possibility of repairing the broken spa. He was interested in seeing the location to see if he could find a solution to getting us a new spa in the old spa location. He came out,at no charge, and figured out that a crane could do the job. We went to the store and ordered our new spa. Four weeks later, the amazing exchange took place. Our old broken spa was removed and our news state of the art spa was put in place by using a crane. It never seemed like an impossible task to Ralph and he did a great job. Thanks.

I was pleased
Description of Work: I had a problem with the heater on my Cal spa and called Spa Direct to fix or replace the heating unit. Ralph showed onetime for the scheduled time and went right to work. He quickly found the problem being a pressure switch which saved a lot of money vs putting a new heating element in it. He checked all the operations to make sure everything was operating correctly. Ralph was very professional and polite as he did he job. I was impressed and will call them for any future work needing done on the spa.

I would stay clear of this company based on service and follow up after the sale. Once they get your money, they are really poor. This experience has lasted for a year. Not just one isolated incident.
Description of Work: After initial installation of the Spa which was so so, we had issues with the eletrician they recommended. WAY over charged. When ever I call the store with issues, such as overheating, kicking the breaker, etc, I usually have to leave a message. Rarely ever getr a call back. I've had to go more than once and just drive to the store. They never show up when they say they will. I'm planning to notify the manufacturer of the poor service and how it reflects poorly on them to have a dealer who does such a bad job at customer service.

Response from Spas Direct Inc
Customer did call our store and requested a service call on Monday Sept 19, 2011. I personally spoke to him and said that we would be out one day that week. No firm appointment was set with him. Since this was more than likely a warranty issue, there would be no need for him to be home since there would be no invoice. The Customer agreed. On that same day and the following days we recieved additional phone calls wanting to know why we have not been to his home to do an inspection. This was covered in the first phone call on Monday. On Wednesday Sept 21, 2011, the manufacturer received eight emails, to include but not limited to complaining of our bad service and what a poor company we were. We were not notified of this until Friday Sept 23, 2011 by the manufacturer. We did in fact do a service call on Thursday Sept 22, 2011 and resolved the issue. Three days after the initial request was made. Our industry average on service appointments is ten business days. This can fluctuate based on demand and peek periods throughout the year. The market rate for the repair would have been $164.95 plus sales tax, not $3,000.00 as was stated. Although all of our customers are important to us, we go in a first come first serve basis unless there is an emergency, which clearly this was not the case. We pride ourselves in providing excellent customer service and it shows by our customer base and length of being in business. With regards to the electrician, we were merely a point of reference for him to find someone quickly to wire his spa. Customer was not under any obligation to contract with him for his services. Once the old spa was removed, it was determined the wiring was not adquate for the new spa that we professionally delivered. Customer was not home at this time. Upon repeated phone calls to us, we encouraged the electrician to refund a portion of his money to satisfy him. The homeowner had the option not to use him if he felt his price was extreme, although it was not. He only complained after the spa was wired and in use. The electrcian has been with us for over ten years and we do not tolerate unprofessional conduct by anyone we refer. PERIOD! The overheating of the spa was a programming issue that was resolved via a phone call. We had walked the customer through to process several times for his comfort level. The spa was only over-heating during the extreme heat in the summer because of his settings that he chose on the spa side. This was not a defect in the spa, nor a reflection on our service. We have provided extensive support to him regarding all of his issues.

After Ralph got the hot tub running again, we discussed the overall condition of the hot tub and the possibility of replacing jets. Before leaving, he gave me a written estimate for the cost of replacing the jets. Ralph was knowledegable, professional and pleasant. If I decide to replace the jets or have any others concerns regarding the hot tub, I will definitely call Spas Direct.
Description of Work: Ralph checked to see why the hot tub was not working. He discovered and remedied the problem, which had to do with water backup dripping on the equipment.

We had a really old hot tub and we considered having them take care of some problems and give us an estimate. They were very timely in giving the estimate. But it was nineteen years old and we decided not to go ahead with it and put that money into something else They were very friendly and they were very arms about to take a look. My husband was a little frustrated because they had not told him that they had turned off something and. so the lines in the hot tub had stopped. The price that they gave us during their first visit was cheaper than some other estimates. We would use them in the future.

I'm in the process of selling my condo, and wanted my hot tub in working order. After not using it for almost a year, I discovered a leak. Having previously used Spas Direct to replace the hot tub cover and repair a leak, I called them again and received instructions over the phone on how to repair it. I went to the store, picked up the parts, and received DETAILED instructions on how to finish the repair. I couldn't get it completely fixed - couldn't line up the parts to put back together, so I called them to come out and repair it. They came out when I wanted and fixed it without needing more parts. Most of the cost above is for the service call, but while the tech was there, he refilled the tub, started it, and let me know that all functions were working. He also let me know that sometime in the future the motor and pump will need to be replaced. Since then I've spoken with Ralph several times about how to best get the tub in tip-top shape and all my options. A great company with a great customer service attitude. They really want to help and know this is the best way to gain and retain customers.
