The serviceman from Mr. Appliance was very polite, punctual and willing to work with my schedule; however I truly wish he'd depended on his own knowledge and not on the advice of GE tech support via phone and the fact that it took 4 different appointments to rectify the problem. I would rate Mr. Appliance an A, but add in the lousy GE tech support , the price, and the amount of time it took to fix the problem brought the overall rating down.
Description of Work: First appointment: freezer not keeping things cold enough and icemaker on GE Profile fridge didn't work; serviceman checked evaporator coil (okay); evaporator fan not running; he contacted GE tech support; tested volts at evaporator fan; replaced control board [$310]. Second appointment: Unit not making ice; checked evaporator coil - bad frost pattern; tap line low on freon; looked for leaks and could not find any; charged unit cooling well; couldn't find leak, no warranty on freon charge [$94]. Third appointment: fridge still not making ice; checked freezer temp; called GE tech support; cycled ice maker; tested voltage; replaced ice maker [$112]. Fourth appointment: Serviceman did not charge for this follow-up.

I am very happy with the service that I received. The technician was prompt and pleasant. He took the time to explain what had happened and what needed done to correct the issue. I even asked advice on the next refrigerator.
Description of Work: The icemaker in our refrigerator stopped functioning. I contacted another appliance repair company and, because the refrigerator is a Samsung, they referred me to Mr. Appliance. After I contacted them the technician was able to come out the next day. After looking into the problem it was discovered that a part needed ordered. It was ordered and within a few days we received a call that the part was in. The technician was very through and explained the problem and the steps needed to repair it. I would definately call Mr. Appliance again.

Curt Barger, the owner, kept me up-to-date with the warranty repair process on my Samsung refrigerator/freezer. Jim, the service technician, was very knowledgeable about the issues with my refrigerator/freezer and honest with me, too. Each answering service person I spoke with was pleasant and helpful. I experienced great service throughout a difficult time. I contacted Mr. Appliance two days before they were scheduled to come out, as I wanted to change the time window. I spoke with Curt Barger, the owner, who was very accommodating. When the refrigerator stopped cooling the next day, I called to see if they had had a cancellation, so our service could be moved up by one day. Edward took the message and told me they’d call me back to let me know if they had an opening. Unfortunately, they didn’t. But, again I was impressed that they were willing to see if they could work me in and that Curt was the one to call and apologize that they couldn’t. In talking with Curt, I could tell he wished the technician had availability that day. Jim, the service technician came out during the timeframe scheduled. He parked on the street and wore shoe coverings in my home, both of which showed respect for my property. Jim took the time needed to carefully diagnose the problem and talk me through the repair process. A part was ordered and Jim returned to do the repair once it arrived. Unfortunately, the part had been redesigned and wouldn’t work properly in our refrigerator/freezer. Jim called his Samsung contact and described the situation. The engineer requested another part be ordered. Unfortunately, it wouldn’t work in our unit either. As mentioned above, throughout this process, Curt kept me up-to-date with the warranty repair process. I appreciated Jim’s repair knowledge and honesty. And, each answering service person I spoke with was pleasant and helpful. A great service experience throughout a trying time.
Description of Work: I am very impressed with them! Samsung refrigerator /freezer, purchased September, 2011, started making a high pitched sound and then stopped cooling the freezer. Called Samsung, since unit was under warranty. Samsung assigned repair to Mr. Appliance.

My refrigerator/freezer had a water leak where the line for the ice maker goes into the unit. The service tech found i had a worn out gasket. He replaced it but found that the water dispensing unit would not totally shut off and had developed a leak. Upon further checking the tech found I needed a new water valve. I approved the estimate and a new water valve was installed (after a short wait for the part to come in). Everything with my unit now works fine. The tech new what he was doing and was very friendly and cleaned up after the repair.

Called to get a quote for a part for my laundry washer, could not get to speak to anyone at first for a good 10min. When I finally got some lady an the line and asked for a quote, she transferred me to a non working number, and had to call back again. This time I spoke with some guy who said they did not give quotes over the phone! That they would have to send in their own technician to do a diagnostic at a fee of $69.99, frankly I thought that was outrageous!!

I would like to apologize in advance if you were put on hold for 10 mins with our answering service; they are typically very quick to answer. We use their services when we are either out of the office or on another line. I do not have a record of you calling, are you sure you called our office and not the other office in Canal Winchester? Regardless if you called us or the other office, our corporate policy is to not give quotes over the phone. The reason is simple; there really is no way to know exactly what is wrong with an appliance over the phone. If we gave quotes over the phone and come out and find that it’s a different, more expensive part than that could cause problems. As a future FYI, we do not sell appliance parts. There are several very good appliance part suppliers in town that carry 100’s if not 1000’s of parts.

My washer had a drain problem. I was first impressed with how soon they were able to come out. The office staff was very helpful. They called when they were on the way and that is always helpful. When the repairman arrived he was very courteous and cleaned up any mess that was made in the process. He also gave me tips on how to keep my washer running properly.

Called the big box where we bought the Samsung dryer and the price was higher than I thought it should be. They also tried to sell me a service plan before I made an appointment to come fix my current problem. Since Mr. Appliance listed Samsung as one of the brands that they work on, I called them. Their standard service call price was reasonable. They couldn't get to me for two days, which was okay so I booked the appointment. Jim showed up promptly and was very professional. He took the dryer apart and found the sock that was stuck on a screw in the blower assembly. He removed the sock, put the dryer back together and tested it. I hope I never see these guys again. But, if I do need an appliance fixed they'll be the one I call first. Very Satisfied from phone call to completion!

They were fast and easy to get along with. They fixed one of the problems and they had to come back a week later because I was still having problems. They didn't charge me for the second visit. It was warranted for 30 days. I would use them again.

Representative arrived on time and wore booties in the house. Upon arrival, he confirmed problem - my double oven free standing range was not working. Neither oven worked. He gave me a quick opinion, it was probably a and quot;circuit boardand quot; type of problem which was costly. Typically an oven stops working because the ignitor is bad, but it's not common for both oven ignitors to go out at once. He examined the oven and was surprised to find that it really was two bad ignitors. This costs less to fix. Representative was polite and professional and I was pleased that he took the time to diagnose the problem correctly instead of relying on the and quot;normand quot; as far as these issues typically go. Parts were available, so he was able to pick them up and return the same day to complete the repair. I will call Mr. Appliance for any future appliance problems.

He arrived on time and wore booties while in the house, which I appreciated. While he took apart the dishwasher, he explained how to periodically run white vinegar through it to help fight a buildup of hard-water scale; it turns out that I've been doing it wrong for years! He was very polite and personable, and I enjoyed talking to him. The only complaint I can think of is that he apparently smokes, and the cigarette smell lingered long after he left.
Description of Work: My dishwasher wasn't getting the dishes clean. The service provider took the dishwasher apart and checked to make sure all the arms were turning. The only problem he found was an accumulation of residue from hard water. He washed all the parts, reassembled the dishwasher, and ran it for a few minutes.

Had scheduled appointment for service call. Cancelled work meetings and scheduled time off for appointment. Company called and cancelled that morning. I would have given them an 'F', but at least they called in the morning to cancel for the afternoon. Too bad I 'wasted' a day off work.

Description of Work: My 5 year old KitchenAid Gas Range's digital panel would not work and needing replacing. They were quick & responsive for their appointment on a Friday, knew the product, ordered the part and had it to me on the following Monday. Very professional and at a very good price. I would recommend this small company to anyone with large appliance repair needs. Our refrigerator mysteriously stopped cooling one night so we called Mr. Appliance to get it checked out. This husband and wife team offered superb customer service and within 24 hours, Joe was at our house ready to make his inspection. Not only was Joe exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, he had the problem diagnosed (faulty circuit board) and repaired within an hour. It is truly refreshing to work with a craftsman possessing such a great attitude and honest nature. These guys rock.

I got the name of Mr.Appliance from Angie's list and made phone call to get my washing machine serviced. It was making a terrible noise.Made the call on Monday and had service scheduled for following day. They gave me a two hour window and arrived in that time. The repairman took the machine apart and then put it back together and tried to fix it but wasn't able to. It needed a major part and he was honest enough to tell me the cost with parts and labor. Since I could purchase a new machine for that, decided that was the best couse fro me. I paid the bill when he left and it was the cost I was quoted over the phone. Several days after that I received a call from the company wanting to know how things were going and if I needed anything further. Would use their services again if needed.
Description of Work: Serviceman took apart washing machine to determine problem. It could have been fixed but repair and parts would have been as much as new machine costs. He did let me know that I could use the machine if I could stand the noise.

While scheduling with the company the representative told me the service repairman would pick up the likely parts in the morning, call before arrival and gave me an estimated repair total of $160. I provided the make model and mentioned I had the service manual with all of the part numbers for my unit. The repairman called prior to arrival to let me know he was running late and gave me an estimated time of arrival. He made it in just before his previously provided eta, diagnosed the problem and then told me he would have to send someone for the part. The service repairman did not stock any parts for my LG dryer on his truck like the phone rep explained. Mr Appliance sent someone to pickup the part while the service repairman was installing the rigid pipe I had available onsite. Once the part was delivered is was very quickly installed and dryer reassembled. $11 part and nearly $100 labor to install. Dryer works great again - but the phone rep misrepresented the process leading to the work time to be prolonged - and billing was by the hour. Had the parts been on the truck as I was told, this would have been less than a half hour job and a much smaller bill.
Description of Work: My clothes dryer stopped drying altogether, a sensor went out. Mr Appliance replaced the faulty part, installed rigid lint vent piping and restored the unit to working order.

First off, I want to apologize for the delay in getting your dryer fixed but I want to ensure you that the delay had no effect on the final price of the repair. We charge by the task, not by the hour (which is why you don’t see a start/end time on your work order) so the final price that you were given would be the same price if it took 2 hours, 3 hours or even all day! Our task pricing system also allows us to give each customer a quote before starting the repair which we did in your case. We do keep a large number of parts on our trucks however if the tech strongly believes the repair will require a part not in stock than we will pick up the part at our warehouse before arriving. In your case, I believe the tech was not sure which part was in need of replacement until further examination.

Serviceman was prompt, courteous and efficient. It took him about 5 minutes to determine that the washer's transmission had failed. Since the cost of the repair was impractical on a 10 year old applicance, decided to buy new washer. It was worth the cost of service to be able to make that decision.

Took 2 visits. First visit was evaluation of the problem. He replaced the main computer board. The refrigerator brand had had some problems with the comouter board. This didn't solve the problem. Second visit he brought a new blower motor and installed it. The old part had a flap that was stuck open which let cold air contiuously flow into the refrigerator compartment. Problem solved. I was not charged for a second service call.
