Mark Rodgers Construction

Mark had some great suggestions for making the new ramp/sidewalk more visually appealing. They worked really hard to tear out the old concrete. It took them 2 days to tear out the old concrete and frame up the new sidewalk. They kept the site very clean. I was impressed with the quality of their work and their professionalism.

Went excellent. He had to tear up the old floor and the apron to put a new one in. He did an excellent job. He was punctual, gave us an estimate one week and was out the next. He was responsive to our phone calls and always let us know when he would be at our home.

Mark Rodgers promptly gave an estimate with reasonable prices. Mark scheduled and started the job within a week of being hired. The job required removing the concrete from the old porches and pouring the new porches. Since the job was a winter job the weather dictated when the job was completed. Mark and his crew did an excellent job and cleaned up afterward.

They were absolutely magnificent! I would absolutely hire them again.

He did a very nice job at a fair price. He was a delightful guy to work with.

Anne Rodgers was very courteous in our initial phone conversations, as was Mark when he came by to give us an estimate. We wanted to combine pavers and concrete to make our rather wide (3 garage bays) driveway more interesting. Mark made helpful suggestions about how to integrate the pavers, taking into account the curved street and angled stone retaining walls that flanked the driveway. A handout that Mark provided with the written estimate clearly communicated what we needed to do to protect our investment in his work (when we could walk/drive/park on the driveway after pouring, when/how to reseal the driveway, etc.) Though weather and other factors delayed the start of our project, Mark and Anne kept in contact so we knew what to expect. Once work began, the crew worked diligently and cleaned up after each phase. The result is very attractive and an enormous improvement to our property. Overall, we are very happy with Mark and his company's work.

It didn't, they never got back with me.

The driveway cut was straight and thorough. The sidewalk turned out to be a much harder job than Mark had anticipated. To minimize damage to the brick wall, Mark and his son ripped most of the concrete out by hand. They were very careful about preserving the wall. As they got further into the job, they realized that the sidewalk was composed of much more concrete than just 6-8 inches deep. Even though it was many more hours of work than Mark had expected (it took a whole day), he stuck to his estimate. They also had to work around a tree pruning team of 10 men and 4 trucks. They did a fantastic job and I'd refer them again and again.

Workers were courteous and industrious. Three days total. Framed and graveled day one. The second day they poured, and then stopped by on the third day to make the saw cuts. Site was left clean.

I contacted Anne Rodgers at the office and scheduled an appointment for an estimate. Mark checked out the situation and contacted me with an estimate. He gave me a start date of approximately 9/13/07. Before that date arrived, Mark called to say that he would be able to start my work before 9/13, but it was not a good date for me. The work started 9/13, as originally planned. They tore out the porch and discovered the wood foundation of the house behind the porch was greatly deteriorated. Therefore, they advised I have the foundation replaced and call them when the repair was finished. I arranged for the foundation to be replaced, then contacted Mark Rodgers when it was ready for the concrete pour. Anne tried to schedule for the concrete pour, but ran into a shortage of workers. I understood their situation and was happy to wait a few days longer. The porch was poured about a week after the wood repair was done. They did a great job, and cleaned up well.

They ripped out the curb then keep postponing the job for larger jobs. Finally after threatening to hire another company they finished the job.

I talked to Mark's wife Anne on a Thursday and she said they were scheduling for November, but since it was a small job they could fit us in Monday or we could wait until Nov. They tore out the asphalt on Monday and poured the concrete Tues. We were surprised to get it done so quickly. They were very professional and did an excellent job. I would certainly hire them again.

After placing a call to this company, I promptly received a call back that same day by Anne requesting that I meet Mark on-site that Saturday for an estimate. We met and discussed the project and I received a cost estimate that day. Anne sent over their terms and conditions of the work to be performed and they were agreeable so we contracted with them over three other bidders. Fortunately even with short notice they were able to accomodate our deadlines. My father and I have been around construction for a while and we have not seen a crew work as efficiently as Mark's in a long time. They demolished the reinforced slab BY HAND with sledgehammer instead of hydraulic breakers, and for the duration of their work kept the surrounding areas immaculate. At one point we found our expectations to be different than Mark's and he changed the course of his plans to accomodate us. We are left with a beautiful slab and are glad to have met such a great family and contractor for the future.

Went well. Responded in a timely manner. Kept us informed of what was happening. We were not happy with the cleanup but the actual sidewalk is nice.

The project turned out exceptionally well. Mark communicated with us several times during the project as we were both working and let us know step by step what was happening. I was impressed with the professionalism of the company and they did a great cleanup of all debris on the site. We were not expecting to have the job done until mid-September but they were able to complete it much sooner than that.

Mark was very responsive and gave me a detailed quote right away. Although it was approx. six weeks between the time I accepted the bid and the time they could get the work done, this was explained to me up front, so it wasn't a surprise. After I received the quote, I has some landscaping work done, including the installation of an irrigation system. They were able to work around the lines for the most part. One elbow going to a sprinkler head was cracked, but that was a minor repair. I have only two negatives. One, a significant portion of my grass was killed as part of this job, but I don't know if that was avoidable. Second, there is a slight dip in the walkway going up to my porch. Mark's son apologized for this, and we ran water on it to make sure it wouldn't pool and create a safety hazard. It is not significant enough to warrant redoing the walkway, but it is a little annoying, and I would have hoped to get a little something more than "I'm sorry" for it.

The man is excellent, very clean neat and timely. He is just plain good. He has his sons working for him, training them to be the same.

Mark did the work himself with one helper. Worked very hard entire time. Slight delay in completion due to sudden April freeze and rainy weather. Very careful to clean up work area at end of each work day. Have received many complements from neighbors on the nice patio and adjacent concrete areas. Would hire Mark Rodgers Construction for any future concrete job we need.

As stated, what I feel primarily lacking is cosmetic, or "finished" quality of some of the places and a couple not-level places. At least up to now, concrete seems to be ok and they did what I wanted. They 2 young men worked very hard to complete this job as I wanted it. A very late start/concrete delivery made it difficult for 2 men to complete the work by dark. I put out trouble light to help them see. I feel this caused the problems/errors in "finish" quality & un-level problems. Be sure enough man power is committed to job. Explained job well, both young men worked hard & very polite. Did best to do job as I wanted. Apparently there was a slight miscalculation in cement needed, caused shortage so a small part of the gutter had to be "borrowed" and then finished next day. I feel "structurally" this job is OK but a couple of places at sidewalk, at house & by apron, the concrete is not level. Also, in a few places the finish left a bit to be desired cosmetically.

He was punctual and did what he said what he said he would. He did great work and we were very pleased with the job.

From the quote to the completion of the job Mark and his crew were professional, paid close attention to detail, and thoroughly answered all my questions. We were delighted with work and would have them do work for us again.

The whole process was smooth as silk!! Mark, his wife Anne and sons where extremely professional and courteous. Anne told me that they where scheduling one month out but because of weather conditions, there where able to start the following week. The process was a 2 day deal; tear out one day and pour the 2nd. Mark and his son did the tear out in chilly, drizzling rain. Because of another job they had scheduled based on weather, they could not do the pour the next day. They left plywood sheets to allow for safe walking up to the front door. They also left the surrounding area spotless. I wasn't able to be there when they did the pour but when I returned from my trip I was extremely happy with the job they did. Mark provided a written plan on maintenance of the new concrete drive. During the whole process, Mark kept me updated on any changes in scheduling that occurred. I wish all contractors and companies where as good as Marks. I HIGHLY recommend them!!!

Everyone in this family-run business know what they are doing, from the business office manager, Anne, to the concrete specialists Mark and his son. They were very professional and prompt. Mark gave us good advice with respect to the pattern, the color, the addition of dirt due to our highly sloped backyard, and more importantly, the load on our foundation had we done a set of heavy stairs in concrete. We followed his advice and are now contracting for the stairs to be replaced in light-weight trex/similar material. Mark also gave us good advice on the finish. He noted that we have a very active 4 year old boy, and recommended a texture that has sand mixed in with the coating to add some roughness and avoid slips. Mark and Anne were careful in explaining the process and the materials used. We had to wait for all the dirt to settle, then for all the rain to stop. It was worth the wait. The patio turned out to be very beautiful.

This is the second time I have used Mark Rodgers Construction. You are always treated professionally whether your job is big or small. They responded promptly to my request for service, offered a very reasonable price for the work, kept me informed about the job status, and followed through. They provide Top-of-the-Line work, and don't consider the job done until you are Satisfied! Fantastic!
