I had obtained a quote from reputable company for replacing driveway- estimate was $33,000(yes, it's a large driveway. Mark came out and recommended that instead of replacing it, simply repair couple of places, and then power wash and seal. I agreed and Mark's son Joe, who is building a side business of repairing, washing and sealing did the job. He was great, got the work done quickly, and just as we had agreed. Joe was a pleasure to work with.

He was very nice. I really appreciated that time he spent with me. I would definitely hire him in the future if I needed concrete work done. He looked at it and he said pouring concrete is not going to work, "I can't do this for you, here are the problems". But then instead of just leaving and saying "okay, that is it", he stayed with me for another 20 minutes of his time to talk to me about what I could to instead which is great.

We reviewed and contacted several concrete contractors on Angie's List and my wife and I felt the most comfortable with Mark. He responded to our estimate inquiry quickly and was very upfront and honest with us about the entire process. We originally wanted a stamped concrete patio, but after evaluating our space, Mark suggested we may not want to introduce an additional texture to our entry way. He was more than happy to give us a stamped patio if that is what we wanted, but he recommended a simple concrete pad ? this was essentially a $1,500 difference in price in our favor. We appreciated his professional opinion and the fact that he was more interested in us being happy with the product than up-selling us to something we may regret. Due to the time of year we had contacted Mark, he informed us that jobs usually were scheduled for 60 days out but since ours was a one-day job, he might be able to squeeze us in sooner. We only waited 30 days and Mark called me at 7 am to see if he could have a crew do our project that day. Mark and his son Joseph arrived around 8am and by 1pm, the old steps and sidewalk were gone and the new patio and step were poured and setting. We went with Mark's suggestion and got the concrete pad and are very happy with it. We have been landscaping around the area and Mark was 100% right, it ties in perfectly with what we already have. I cannot recommend Mark enough. We are very pleased and my wife appreciated how Mark explained everything to her and made sure she was comfortable and aware of every aspect of the job before he proceeded on anything.

In October 2012 we obtained multiple estimates from contractors we found on Angie's List. Mark was by far the most helpful in determining what needed to be done and the timing. His estimate was very reasonable compared to several of the other quotes. The weather turned bad soon after we selected Mark. Rather than take a chance on installing the driveway when it would not have adequate time to cure or could possibly suffer from salt damage, Mark recommended that we wait until the spring before pouring the new concrete. We took Mark's recommendation and are glad we did. Mark kept in constant touch with us during the winter and spring months. As soon as the weather broke Mark scheduled the job in April 2013. The crew was on time and efficient. They cleaned up at the end of each day. The job was completed on time and in budget. We could not be happier. We've had several people in the neighborhood stop and ask who did our driveway and sidewalks because they made such a huge improvement in the curb appeal of the house. We would rate Mark Rodgers Construction an A+

Mark Rodgers and his company are a pleasure to deal with! They were prompt, courteous at all times, and Mark personally took the time to explain the whole process to me. I couldn't be happier with his work. Our new driveway is beautiful! When he was removing the old driveway, he discovered that corners had been cut when it was installed. Mark explained that he would need to do additional excavation work and lay new gravel to get it ready. I figured there would be an increased cost associated with the extra work. Mark didn't charge me one penny more than the original estimate! I was amazed! In all my dealings with home service and repair people, I've never met anyone with more honesty and integrity than Mark Rodgers. I would use him again in a heartbeat, and anyone that reads this testimonial would be foolish to not call him for an estimate on their work!

Joseph removed the walk, leveled the surface, and put the forms in. They took care of the city inspection. Although they were not able to re-pour the walk immediately due to weather, they got to it as soon as the weather permitted. They keep in excellent contact.

Mark came to evaluate our current situation of a partially removed patio relating to basement water issues. He did give us an estimate for a new concrete patio, but did not recommend that we even put in a new patio, given our circumstances. Mark is a quality professional who shared his expertise while not profiting in any way from us for his time and knowledge. Refreshing.

Despite an awful stretch of weather which delayed our driveway we couldn't be happier with Mark and his work. The driveway is flawless and is built to last. Mark is a consummate professional and communicates effectively throughout the entire process. We started quickly with the job and the old blacktop was ripped out in a day and the site was prepped. Unfortunately over the course of the next 10 days we had a very bad stretch of weather. To his credit Mark stayed patient rather than trying to rush the job. I suspect other providers may have tried to pour the drive in bad conditions and we wouldn't be happy with the result. Once we finally caught a break in the weather the pour went flawlessly - even though our 6 year old decided to walk on the freshly broomed concrete - which they quickly fixed :-) Mark and his son couldn't be any more professional. They are top notch in this business and we would recommend them to anyone looking for QUALITY concrete work. Thanks!

Mark Rodgers was extremely prompt in responding to my call for an estimate. He came to the home and measured the job and spent a good deal of time explaining how he would do the job, his experience and credentials, suggestions and answering all of our questions. Although I was extremely impressed, I initially chose another contractor that was less expensive for this part of the work and was going to do additional work also . It ended up that the other work couldn't be done where I live and I cancelled with that contractor. Even though I had already told Rodgers I was going with another contractor I called and spoke with Mrs. Rodgers about going ahead with their quote which she said was no problem and as originally planned since it was a small job (big job to me) he would work it in withing the next 30 days. She later called me back and said he could start next afternoon after another job. Area was dug up and framed and poured concrete the following day. Everything was cleaned up afterward. Originally he was going to haul away the dirt that was removed but I asked if it could be left to fill in areas that were getting low around the foundation of the house and garage. They used wheel barrel to put the dirt in place which lessened our need to move and spread it. All the work was done my Mark Rodgers and his son. Very excellent experience and I would not hesitate to use them again.

Mark was professional and very easy to work with. He explained what he would do and how it would be done. A couple of days after his visit I was emailed an estimate that was competitive with other companies. Because of the Angie's List rating and reviews I selected Mark to do the job and I am glad I did. The weather delayed when the work could be done. Mark and his son, Joseph, came out when the weather permitted and did a great job.

We had a great experience with Mark Rodgers Construction. We were in the process of seeking out estimates for possible foundation work for our front porch. Mark came out himself to provide the estimate. Turned out that the company deals mainly with concrete, so we wouldn't be getting an estimate or having any work done. That didn't matter though. Mark spent 45 minutes with us, measuring and investigating the issues he saw with the porch (and listening to the information we had received from other contractors). He ultimately provided his take on the situation and gave us a number of a friend in the carpentry business. We couldn't be happier that we mistakenly sought out this company. The service was excellent. The estimate was speedy, and comparable in price to some, less than other's. I asked them to take out the asphalt drive and replace it with concrete. They started the work at the time they promised and finished when they said they would. They left no mess behind and were very helpful in placing PVC piping I had cut for an invisible fence. They were extremely professional and answered all questions very patiently and thoroughly. I highly recommend Mark Rodgers Construction, and I would use them again without a second thought.

Mark and his son,Joe did an excellent job pourin concrete into our crawl spaces. They were both very knowledgable about concrete. They were both very professional and hard working!! You could not even tell that they were working besides having the job completed.They cleaned everything up very well!!! They both went above and beyond what we expected!!! I would highly recommend them and will look forward to working with Mark and Joe again!!!

Mark and his son, Joe, were very professional. They were very timely, had obvious expertise and took great care with not only our property, but the neighbor's property next door to ours. We are very pleased with their service and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone in need of concrete work. We have had one issue with water retention on our new driveway and when we called Mark, to tell him about it, he came out within an hour (on a Saturday), looked at it and said he would do whatever it would take to get it fixed. They cannot do the work over the winter season, but he assured us he would come back in the spring and take care of it. We couldn't ask for anything more.

Great experience overall. I had an estimate from another contractor that was less, but I chose Mark because he seemed very knowledgable and professional. Even though there was a bit of wait, the job was completed very close to the projected date. The workmanship appears to be of high quality. I would recommend him to others (and have already done so).

Although we didn't use Mark, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him. Any business owner who puts his customer's needs ahead of his need to make money is a winner in my book. In this day and age, ethics count for a lot.

Mark and son came out, measured for the pad. Came out on another day--because we were a small job,he fit us in when he couldn't do bigger jobs (because of impending weather, etc). He and his son laid the groundwork for the concrete to be poured. It took a few times because of the weather for the concrete to get poured but Mark would always call and keep me posted. He did the concrete himself and was very neat, making sure to wipe off any mess on the side of the house. Would definitely hire again

Mark communicates very well each step of the way. He did a great job of detailing the initial repairs, and he let me know when he would be free to start the job. Once the old porch was torn out, we ran into a period of several days of heavy rain. Mark had to wait for a dry day to pour the concrete and finish the job. During the delay, he called every morning with an update. I've never had a contractor communicate this well. Once we got a dry day, Mark and his crew finished the job quickly and professionally. Mark works with his son, and they are both courteous, professional and polite. Their work is top-notch, and you couldn't ask for better service.

Great experience. Mark put in a lot of hours working with the city inspectors and arborists to come up with a plan to retain tree, despite the fact that the tree had caused the problem with the old sidewalk. As we live in Clintonville we felt it important to retain the tree. However, we also needed to be good neighbors and repair some badly heaved concrete. I am very appreciative of the way I was kept appraised of the process of working with the city and the willingness to accommodate the large oak tree that forms a canopy over the street. Highly recommend working with Mark Rodgers.

When We first contacted Mark, We had to wait about 6 weeks. That was fine with Us, as We weren't in any hurry, and it demonstrated that a "busy" contractor most likely does good work!! Of course We knew this from past experience!!

As soon as we met Mark and talked to him when he came out to give us an estimate, I knew we would hire his company for the job. Not only was he very knowledgeable, but he provided helpful guidance to us in determining the shape, color and design of the patio. He gave us recommendations based upon his experience, and we are glad we followed them. He gave us the estimate on the same day upon which he visited us. Ann in the office helped us submit the necessary paperwork to our homeowners' association, all while we were on vacation. This was a huge help to us, too. As we got close to the projected start date for the project, Mark kept me informed about his plans so that I was never left wondering when they would start work. Despite unpredictable weather, extreme heat and power outages, his company finished the patio around the time he had projected. The patio itself looks fantastic. We are extremely pleased with it. Mark and his crew put extra effort into making it look good. They even stayed on the work site for an additional hour or so in the extreme heat in order to ensure that they could take proper precautions for the concrete in case it rained. We are very pleased with our experience with Mark and the finished project. We heartily recommend his company.

Mark was $400 higher than competitor, but at $2,700 he and high listing on Angie's list made me think I was going with the best in town.Hot weather delayed the job, but today, 7/9, weather was in the low '80's. Crew of four came in and poured. Worked fast as Mark was using quick set concrete - in my opinion wrong - it did not give them time to fix and finish properly. Went out to inspect the job 1-1/2 in and found they had not matched the brush finish direction in the existing concrete. Pointed this out and they tried to fix. Also did not order enough concrete so they had to go out and buy some bags. All in all a D for performance - Mark refinished areas well, his son Bob not so much. Mark also worked the concrete in with a shovel, Bob just patted it down. Would not recommend them! $2,700 was way too much for the job, had a bid more then several $100 lower, but thought I was paying for professional high quality - not what I got.
