Did not use their services.
Description of Work: I called Cruikshank Plumbing with a problem, but was told that they could not be out to my house until Friday,, the 9th. They did however, recommend W & W Plumbing, LLC. Even though we did not use their services, I thought it was nice and very professional for them to recommend someone else who could take care of our problems much sooner.

Their service was excellent! They did an outstanding job! The estimator was one of the family, whose name was David Cruikshank. He was very business-like, and he know exactly what he was doing. He sent an online appraisal and estimate via email. It was very exact and easy to read. And then, they sent a plumber whose name is Michael. He was on time, and he did a great work. He cleaned up after himself, and he has finished before the day that they actually estimated him to be done. He did a great work!
Description of Work: We used Cruikshank Plumbing for plumbing service. We got a quote from them, and we hired them.

Randy was fantastic! He fixed a problem that two other plumbers couldn't correctly identify. He was prompt, courteous, highly skilled, and the price was more than fair. I'm ecstatic.

THEY DID NOTHING CAUSE THEY DO NOT FOLLOW UP!
Description of Work: Came and looked at replacing our water heater with a tankless unit. Young man came over, before we left for vacation, gave a look at our issue, made high level review of where the exhaust would vent and the unit would hang. Said he would get a quote over the next week (while we were on vacation). Never received a quote.

It went great! Randy took care of each problem. The toilet was especially difficult since the floor was in bad shape. He is a great person to solve your plumbing issues.
Description of Work: I purchased a house which had been empty for over a year. Kitchen and bath sinks were stopped up. Disposal didn't work. Laundry faucets leaked, vanity faucets leaked. Shut off valves leaked. Toilet didn't shut off. Cruikshank took care of it all.

Mark was professional throughout the entire process. I called him Friday, July 5th, after receiving his number from a neighbor. I learned he had completed similar work in our neighborhood and was highly recommended. It was after hours and I wasn't sure if the problem was an emergency so I called his cell phone. I left a message and Mark called back within 5 minutes. I explained that there was a leaking curb stop at the base of my driveway, the city had been out and verified it is my responsibility to have it fixed, and I was ensure if this was an emergency. Mark set my mind at ease, explained what was going on. Mark provided me a rough estimate over the phone and advised he could come out next week and complete the work. Mark made the call to get the underground lines marked, made the arrangements with the city for the inspection, and completed the work in a timely manner. We had a couple of tricky spots in the yard to maneuver around, but I could tell Mark was a seasoned veteran. The only part of the yard affected by the work was the trench needed to remedy the problem. Mark also found that there was a leak on the cities side as well. Without hesitation, he called the city and got a crew to perform the work. Even though there was another crew working, Mark continued to focus on his task. Mark was knowledge and friendly. The entire time he was working, my 2 year old son watched him run the Bobcat. I am sure Mark is used to the customer watching, but he was sure to acknowledge his little fan with a smile or a wave. I hope that I don't ever have any plumbing issues again, but should I need somebody, I would not even need to go to Angie's list to research companies. I will just call Cruikshank! Thanks Mark!

My hot water tank was leaking for several days in the basement before I discovered the leak, and by that time, my basement floor was flooded. I turned off the water to the tank, although it continued to drip out. That was on a Sunday, and I called Cruikshank Plumbing first thing Monday morning. I talked to Verna, and she could not have been more helpful. They were scheduling for Wednesday, but she was able to add me to that day's list, although she said she couldn't tell me a time since I would be at the end of the day. I didn't have any problem with this, since I was just glad they could come that day. Verna called me back a few hours later to tell me that they had someone who could come right then. He showed up when I expected him and was professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He discovered that he needed a part, so he had to leave for a few minutes while the tank was draining. When he came back, he realized that he didn't have the correct tank on his truck. Now, this was actually my fault - I was confused about what type of tank I had, and had given Verna incorrect information. He had to drive back to the office and get the correct tank, but continued to be courteous and friendly, never once making me feel dumb for my mistake. I don't think he would have pointed out that it was my fault if I hadn't realized it myself. He replaced the tank, and gave me a few suggestions for cleaning up the water in the basement. I was charged the quoted price, even though he had to make the trip back to get a different tank due to my mistake. I will definitely call Cruikshank the next time I need to have any plumbing work completed.

Randy and Michael came on time and got right to work. They installed the new water heater. They also put a shut-off valve on the new water heater to make it easy for me to shut off the water to the water heater without having to turn off the water to the entire house. They also unclogged a toilet in one bathroom. The price I paid also includes $75 for a permit fee required by the City of Columbus.
Description of Work: Cruikshank Plumbing installed a new hot water heater for me. I first called them when the old water heater started to leak at the bottom. I set up an appointment to come in 2 days. All of a sudden it started to pour out in a wide stream. I had to turn off the water supply to the house as I did not know how to turn it off at just the water heater. Early next morning I called to ask if they could come the same day. They rearranged their schedule to come the same day so that I would not have to be without water for another 24 hours.

The price was reasonable. It was a good experience. They were out here twice because they didn’t have the right equipment and they had to come back in two weeks. They called ahead and told me he was coming out, he was very nice on the phone and he was real knowledgeable. They were professional and they were very detailed on how they would repair it.

Had another company service the water heater after it stopped working (A.O. Smith GPSH 200, 50 gals) and they indicated that the Burner Assembly needed to be replaced. I ordered it directly from the manufacturer. When I called the same company after receiving the part for installation they were booked solid for the next few days. I called Cruikshank Plumbing to see if they would do the job and how soon could they do it. The people in the phone were extremely nice and even though they were completely book for the next day, they were able to squeeze me in. They came next day in the morning and completed the assembly of the part plus did some extra cleaning to the burner filter in 45 mins. Michael was very nice and took the time to explain what he was going to do at the beginning and how it went at the end and to my request gave the goods and beds of tank-less heaters as we are thinking in doing the upgrade when this one dyes for sure. Total cost for the service was $91.50 which was cheaper than the quoted price I was given by the 1st company for the installation. I highly recommend Cruikshank Plumbing.

Called Cruikshank when water heater tank sprung a leak. Because of all the rain, they were swamped with sump pump calls and could not come out for 2 days. Answering service did make calls to techs to see if we could be squeezed in since water was flowing. She did call me back not once but twice. The first to tell apologetically no one could come out today and later to see if I was able to get a hold of another plumber that day to help, otherwise she wanted to get me on their schedule in the event an opening came up. She also was able to get me an estimated price of what of expect as well. Used them in the past and will use them in the future.

About 6 hours after I went out of town for work, my wife found our water heater leaking. Luckily, Randy got back to me on their emergency plumber line within 30 minutes on a Sunday Night. The next morning, I had confirmed our appointment and pricing, and the new HWT was installed that afternoon. Very helpful and friendly service all the way around, and I look forward to using them again for the next plumbing project or emergency.

Overall my experience was very good. David showed up on time and assessed my situation. Since I got a quote before I knew how long the line would need to be run, the cost ended up being a lot higher than the estimate, however David explained the situation up front and I was agreeable to the estimate. Overall I thought David did a great job and at the end he walked me through the work he did and make sure my new range was working properly.
Description of Work: I recently moved into a home with an electric stove and wanted to change to a gas stove. I had Cruikshank Plumbing run a gas line to where the new stove was. The installer ran a 40 ft. line from an existing line into the kitchen through my crawl space. In addition, the installer hooked up my new stove.

I had a great experience with Cruikshank Plumbing. Over a weekend, I noticed that our water heater had a small leak. We checked the pressure release valve and that wasn't the cause, so we started doing some research on a replacement water heater. Our heater was 13 years old so we weren't surprised that it needed replaced. We did some research online and at big box stores comparing pricing, models, energy efficiency, etc. I also called around a few plumbing companies on Angie's List. Cruikshank impressed me from the first phone call. When I called to ask about water heaters, Michelle, who took my call was very knowlegable. She was able to give me good information on pricing, the models they used, energy efficiency etc. In fact, Cruikshank was the ONLY company I called that was able to provide comprehensive information to me over the phone. Most companies I called would only give me an estimate if I scheduled a free in home appointment and no other company worked with a specific brand of water heater and had any information on the specific product they used. The company uses Bradford White water heaters and they were able to give me the specific model number of the water heater they would install. Cruikshank said they had the best results using that brand. I talked to friends and did some research online and I agreed that it was a quality product. Cruikshank was able to set up an appointment right away. They actually had an opening for same day installation, although I chose a later date to accommodate my schedule. The installer, Randy, came out at the scheduled time. I was told on the phone that it would take about 2 hours. When Randy arrived, he also said 2-3 hours would be a good estimate. Randy wore protective footwear when coming into the house. He was friendly and professional. He finished the job completely in two hours. He showed me the installed water heater and went over basic settings with me. Randy hauled away our old water heater, cleaned up the area, and did a great job with the install. I couldn't be more pleased with the work. Its only been a day, but so far it seems I'm getting hotter water on a lower temp setting on our new heater. I'm hoping this change will save us some $$ on the gas bill!

Replaced wax ring for toilet and replaced some mounting rings screws for same. Replaced a bath faucet with diverter that I had replaced that was dripping. Did not replace tub spout I requested since he didn't have one on the truck Did not replace cartridge in kithcen faucet I asked be checked but told me our water was bad and recommended replacing entire kitchen faucet. We did not do that since that would have been expensive. It works OK now but will have to be dealt with in the future.

Our water heater developed a slow leak from the bottom, so it knew it was a matter of time.... I found Cruikshank Plumbing on Angie's List. I gave them a call on 2/7/13 to get an estimate on a new 80 gallon electric water heater, they called back later in the day, but I missed the call. I did some research that evening on water heaters, so I had some knowledge when I spoke with them on the morning of 2/8/13. Michelle quoted me a price for a 6yr, 80 gallon "standard" water heater. I told her I had done some research since I had last spoken with her and that I really wanted a Rheem Marathon 85 gallon water heater. She said that it was no problem and that she would get me an estimate and let me know. She called back about 1hr later and said that they could get the one I wanted and install it on 2/12/13. I told her since the old one had a slow leak, that I thought it would "last" until then and to go ahead. Michelle then called the morning (10:23AM) of the installation to let me know that the plumber was on his way. She had told me on 2/8/13 that it would be between 10AM and Noon. Randy from Cruikshank Plumbing arrived about 10:40AM. He introduced himself and put on "booties" over his shoes before entering the house. All in all the job went smooth and I am very pleased with the results. I will definitely use them in future when I need a plumber.

Randy did a terrific job. He was very pleasant and took the time to explain what the best alternative would be for my issue. He recommended a certain spicket that would fit my needs and I would not have any issues going forward. My outside faucet was leaking and it would not turn off. He replaced both outside faucets and installed shut-offs in the basement so if this happens again I will be able to shut-off outside faucets. I was not aware that I did not have shutoffs until he drew it to my attention. The outside spickets he recommended are really awesome. You barely have to use any effort to turn the spickets off. I would recommend this company. If there other repair person is like Randy they would be satisfied. He did a great job. The only negative is that the price was pretty steep in my opinion.
