Description of Work: My 8 year old never-been-serviced 2 cycle Toro snowblower wouldn't start (or break down and fit in my car) and I got SMS's name off Angie's List. Sal came over in about 2 hours and got it back tuned and fixed within 24 hours. It's running like a champ. The pick up and drop off service cost $65 and the tune-up and fix $80. He was punctual and seems trustworthy. I thought I might need new blades but he said the old ones looked fine.

Description of Work: Our lawn mower was in need of a tune-up and some repairs. Sal is a real professional and knows what he's doing. This is a good time of year (with huge piles of snow everywhere) to get a mower serviced, and ours was ready the next day!! We feel the price was fair and the service was excellent. Very Pleased!

Description of Work: This is the second time in one year we used SMS. The first time I called Sal picked up our MTD snowblower in the middle of a snowstorm. He had it back the next day because my husband has a heart condition and I can only clear the snow. The snowblower is 17 years old and he said it was worth fixing. It looked brand new, ran as if brand new and saved me about $300 to buy a new one. At the end of the summer we loaded the lawn mower into the car for a tune up. Sal told my husband that it still ran well and would cut the grass but the self-propelled gears were pretty much gone. It was very reasonable to get it tuned up and the balds sharpened. Again turn around time was excellent.

+ -1 moreSnowblower broke down (would not start) on a Sunday morning. I began attempting to contact repair shops and SMS was the only listing to answer the phone. Sal advised that the machine was more than worth repairing despite its age and indicated he could pick it up that afternoon. He had the repairs completed the next afternoon and was able to drop the machine off less than 24 hours after picking it up. His repairs and tune up left me with a machine that works better than it did when he picked it up. Considering the cost of a new machine of anything even approaching the same quality, the money Sal's work saved me more than paid for my Angie's list membership. Since another family member has the same snowblower that is definitely in need of at least a tune up, we'll be contacting SMS again.
Description of Work: Pulley repair, maintenance, skid replacement for a 30+ year old Ariens 2 stage snowblower.
