They started right after Labor Day last year (September 8, 2010), they disassembled my deck and took down the Florida room(September 9, 2010) and they started digging around the basement on October 4, 2010. October 5, 2010 it flooded because it was pouring rain. October 6, 2010 they poured concrete in the rain. They put a heat cover over the forms because it was still sopping wet and not drying at all. October 11, 2010 they poured gravel and they dug the sump pump pit. They also started the block wall on the 11th of October. October 12, 2010 they cut the whole of the existing basement wall for the addition. October 13, 2010 they came and were ready to pour the basement floor and everything seems to be going well. On October 14, 2010 it is pouring rain again and rain is pouring into the old basement through a doorway. So I had called the contractor and he said he was in Pennsylvania and said he could not come deal with the water in the basement. My old basement flooded and we waited 5 hours for someone to come out to help with it. He finally showed up like 6 hours later and put a pump in temporarily to help control the water. October 20, 2010 they came to start building the addition above the basement. They are starting to disassemble my kitchen on October 20, 2010 which they gave me a one day notice to clean cabinets out and everything. October 21, 2010 they are dissembling the family room and kitchen and taking back wall of the house out. October 21, 2010 the eye beam came in to be put on the addition. There was still too much wetness in the yard they could not get a crane in the yard, they came the next day, October 22, 2010, they bought a longer crane in. October 24, 2010 the existing windows went in and plywood as well. October 26, 2010 they came to dig the foundation of the porch out so they could make it bigger. They poured the footer for that. The next day they put the block foundation in for the porch. On October 31, 2010 my porch was still a mess so no Halloween for us. November 11, 2010 they put insulation in the ceiling and the next day they put the front porch in. They left my forms up all year (just taken down this week) for the sidewalk. The form never took, it cracked and changed colors and there was never even a step going from the sidewalk to the front porch. November 16, 2010 it rained and my new basement started leaking on all three walls and there was standing water. November 18, 2010 they are doing the drywall in the new addition. November 29, 2010 they are taking out the old kitchen floor, the next day, the new floor is getting put in. December 2- 5, 2010 they started with siding on the outside of our house. December 12- 17, 2011 my cupboards stared going in and then appliances stated coming in. After the holiday, they started cutting a form for the island. December 30, 2010 the island went in. In January, the kitchen sink area is put in and he started work on sink and other kitchen work. January 14 the fire place goes in. Janurary 27, 2011 the finally put the sliding glass door in. They splashed grout everywhere when putting the backslash in. Two months after they poured the basement floor, there was a 36 foot crack in the basement floor. February 24, 2011 it rained and the basement flooded again and the floor cracks also. March I had the floor people come again because they did not level the floor from the old part to the new part, it was about 1 inch to 1.5 inches difference. They took up 13 tiles to replace the damage and level the floor. I had to do some repairs after he was gone because there were some holes around the light fixture and the backslash. April 7, 2011 the sliding door was not working properly, they had to replace it, a brand new center panel. When he did that it was freezing cold, and he had the door in and our and in and out and in and out. And there was a huge gouge in the tile floor, so the floor had to be replaced again. In April, it rained again and the yard was flooded again. Then in June they started the chimney outside. They came back to regrade the yard because it was terrible from all the rain. June 17, 2011 they came to re stain the panel of the door and he takes a call and steps outside and then he comes back in and finishes. Turns out there is a huge stain on my deck of golden oak. He came back with some deck cleaner and he tried to clean it. It did not clean up so now I have a stained deck (in one area). He stated he would have to replace the wood. My husband ended up fixing that. They broke the drain tile in the backyard and my husband had to fix that as well. July 20, 2011 we were getting new cement, driveway, sidewalk and garage floor. When they took out the garage floor so did the foundation so the whole foundation was cracked. They slapped cement over it to repair it. July 28, 2011 it poured again the backyard is flooded and the basement is still leaking. August 4, 2011 the house foundation is dug up again and filled with stone. After that they put in some additional drains out to the back of the lot. They then re- sealed the top of the basement walls to stop it from leaking. Then in September, the contractor came to put dry lock on the walls of basement. After that dried , he pained the floor and filled the huge crack and painted over that. The new cement guy took out the sidewalk and driveway to start repairing that. Then they grated the driveway and put a drain in as well. September 25, I took it upon myself to grade my own sidewalk. I was tired of waiting because I had a party on the beginning of November. My contractor stated the cement guy could not go further with out payment, I told the contractor to pay the cement guy because I had already paid him. He said he could not pay him he had no money so I told him I would pay directly if he re signed my contract stating I did not owe him anymore money. He did change my contractor on my copy, he just wrote over what it originally said. That's the last I heard of him. I do not want him here anymore. Every time he comes he messes something up. I know he has lied to me, he had not paid the plumber or the wood guy in full yet.
Description of Work: I signed a contract with him in July of last year with a promise the work would be done by Thanksgiving of last year for a 12 by 36 additional onto the house including the basement.
