Window World of the Heartland-Orrville

Everything went as planned. Called to request a quote. Ken Woods came out a few days later, arriving timely. Ken checked out our windows, discussed different options, showed us their products & made recommendations. We found him to be very knowledgeable & professional. He took measurements, which were dead-on, according to the happy installer on Nov 12th. Installer Dan & his helper were efficient, cleaned & removed all debris from property. The windows are beautiful & doing a great job at keeping the house much warmer. We like having such a good warranty on the windows. If we ever lose a screen or break a lock Window World will send a service rep to repair or replace at no charge. The windows were installed in approximately 5 weeks. They could have been installed sooner at about 3 weeks I believe but that was too soon for our timetable. Everyone we spoke with at the office was very personable & helpful. We still have 2 more windows that we did not have replaced as we want them converted to doors. Window World will be able to complete that for us as well when we are ready. Ken has already given us a quote on converting one window to a sliding patio door & another to a 34" door.

This was not a good experience. The installation was great.

The sliding door they sold me was a custom size. They were not familiar with the proper installation of this type of opening, and also did not read the directions. Additionally, the track for the sliding screen was inferior, and broke right after installation. The manufacturer provided a new frame, and ultimately the expertise to get the unit installed correctly. Window World of the Heartland was of little help in resolving our issues. They may be experts at run of the mill windows, but based on their treatment of us, we selected another company to replace our regular windows.

Placed an order for a sliding glass door on Oct.12 2013 was told it was a 4-6 week wait (no problem) at the 7-8 week point I contacted them to see the time frame, was put on hold and after a wait was told they would be there the following Monday between 8-9 am. Husband took a day off work to be there .At 8:45 they called and canceled. Rescheduled for later in the week. This time I took a day off work and again they cancelled. 3rd time and another day of missed work and again they cancelled. 3 days of missed pay and NO door doesn't cut it. Finished with this company. Calling to discuss this with the Owner Manager and demanding our deposit back. Not good service at all. UPDATE....My door was installed this morning it looks and works wonderful, the installers were professional and cleaned up after themselves. Yes, it was a long road that shouldn't have taken so long to travel, but the final result was very good. Would I use this company again? Maybe...There are always circumstances that are out of our control but the time frame was much longer than needed

Scheduled and arrival went smooth. The installers did a great job cleaning up after themselves wouldn't know they were here. Product was the issue. The windows were not properly framed and installed. Some of the windows do not latch due to the installation being improperly measured. Will use Jay's next time. You get what you pay for, cheap windows poorly installed.

This was my first major home improvement since I purchased my house and I was very pleased. The windows took a little while to get in, but they were all custom and there were 7 of them. I heard that Window World will quote you one price and then charge you another, but I think each franchise is different. The one is Orrville was the one I used and they did great. I would highly recommend them!

This is a follow up to a previous review I submitted. At the time of the original review Window World had not yet completed the task. Window was finally replaced with correct sashes and window grids on this date 1/25/2013. Company was originally contacted and original order taken back in September of 2012. Due to various problems on their end it took them 4 months to correctly replace one window. I would never use this franchise again. If it took them this long to replace one window, I shutter to think how long it would take them to do multiple windows. Window World appears to be a type of franchise operation so my review is of the specific franchisee located at the address above. Window itself appears to be of good qualtiy and very closely matches exsisting windows in bedroom. Thru the entire 4 months I never heard once from sales rep that took original order, even after emailing him for assistance. Never responded to my mailing. If you use this specific Window World make sure they understand ASPECTS of the project.

Horrible. First and foremost zero lead testing was done and our home was built in 1967. The guy just looked around and checked "no lead" - makes me nervous now. The product - 16 windows replaced in 2 hours 15 minutes. They arrived late, zero caulking around the frame - just a mess. Unprofessional. All 16 windows have major drafts, the company took months to come out, when they did they said there was nothing they could do because there was insulation around each window. We even had a rep from the company that makes the windows and he was showing the orville manager certain windows that were worse with drrafts than others. That rep said it would certainly be fixed, felt better. Nope, the Orville Ohio office said there was nothing further they could do. The windows are obviously defective, we still don't know which route we want to go, this is something we just can't look the other way. This has been an expensive (winter heating costs) investment. Next time I'm not going with the lowest price (although the difference was only a $1,000). The windows were in quick, should've questioned then. I would never recommend this company to anyone. They refuse to help us and do not stand by their life time warranty. Zero help. Writing this now that winter is here once again - you can smell the air in my home! Not to mention with a young child wondering if my home does have lead!! Very upsetting experience.
