We initially talked to him at a home improvement show, and we really liked him so we got the 1st job done,the 2nd, and the 3rd. He's great. He has never let us down. Description of Work: They came and gave a great estimate. The others contractors that came were high and they just looked and asked question. Off The Wall actually checked small areas and then determined the cost. The total price was for removal in three rooms. One room was the kitchen which has a lot of strange areas. The estimate said it would be done in one day. They arrived at 7:25, agreed time was 7:30, ready to start. My 2:00 they had finished, been paid and departed. The walls look great, each room and everything else was left clean.

Description of Work: stripped wall paper from 2 bathrooms and the wall of one bedroom. The work was done over parts of 2 days. The job was perfectly done. After the first day, other than the paper being off the wall I did know even know someone had been here; no trash or residue. Tools neatly stacked in corner. Very neat and respectful of your home. When job was done, the walls were ready for painting that same day with very, very little patching required. I was told the walls were well prepared with sizing when the wallpaper was put up and this aided with it coming off with very minimal damage. This may not be the case for jobs where the proper preparation was not done prior to hanging the wall paper. Dave can probably tell you at the time of your estimate. I would highly recommend the service and would use them again.

+ -1 moreAfter receiving an estimate from another Angie's list vendor, my husband told me to call and cancel the appointment. Very upset an Angies vendor saying this even though had a and quot;A and quot; rating. Poor professionalism.
Description of Work: when setting up the appointment, for 8/9/14 Dave told me, just to let you know I will be the most expensive from all the contractors. Asked how can you state this when I havent showed you the room and work I wanted a quote? Doesn't matter I will be the most expensive.

+ -1 moreWe are putting our house up for sale soon and were very concerned that these walls be as free from damage as possible so we could paint them. Dave did a great job. He's very knowledgeable, methodical and thorough. We selected him because he knows so much about removing wallpaper - which was demonstrated by the way he did the job. He's not the cheapest, but we believe he's the best.
Description of Work: The major part of the job involved removing wallpaper from the first floor hallway, the stairway to the second level, and the master bedroom. In addition there were borders in two rooms and wallpaper on the lower half og the dining room.

+ -1 moreDavid was wonderful. He thoroughly protected the existing wallpaper and walls and floors before doing his removal of the damaged paper and the paper on the ceiling. The ceiling was not easy to do and required him to be in a very uncomfortable position throughout the work. We needed to have the work performed very quickly so the plasterer could do his work. David agreed to come out on a Saturday to accommodate us. I will definitely hire him again!
Description of Work: He removed wallpaper from walls and also several layers of wallpaper liner that was on a plastered ceiling. The ceiling job was very messy and difficult.

+ -1 moreDavid came to quote and arrived to do the job on time. He also called a few days ahead to confirm, and the evening before. He is a very prompt, organized person. Some of the walls had not been sized before papered, he never complained, just kept working until the job was completed. The areas he worked in were cleaned up before he left. I would highly recommend him to remove wallper. And it was a pleasure having him in our home.

+ -1 moreDavid had previously been sharp with me on the phone when I asked him if he could do the job for a whopping $200 less (master bedroom and bathroom and a smaller kitchen). David gave the doom and gloom approach about how difficult the paper might be to remove. I tried to tell David that I had been over the entire house twice removing this type of paper, it had been primed and sized, and he kept saying that he has to quote it high because of one job that took more time to complete. What a crock. Suddenly David became unavailable for over thirty days as if he was going to punish me or by suggesting that he is really in demand. I suppose David was trying to tell me that he did not want to work with me on price or scheduling. When I hung up the phone I thought this guy really is a hit and run artist on price. When he doesn't hit the home run then he gets rude. David was not a class act when it came down to the overall experience. (Approximate cost was $1200.)
Description of Work: David quoted the work for $1,200. Master bedroom 12' x 14', the master bathroom 3' x 14' and a kitchen 8' x 14'. Left a message and asked him if he could do the job for perhaps $1,000. David called me back and seemed upset at my temerity. First he didn't identify his company or what the call was in regard to. Confused, I said you are going to have to tell me a little more about what this is about. Then he said "you called California, the home office and left a message at 5 in the morning". I asked him if I owed him an apology for calling the wrong number also listed on his quote. He still acted like that was a problem, and said "the quote is the quote", and then he became unavailable to do the work for a month. The funny part of the story is I called another provider on Angie's List and they quoted me 1/3 the price and start next week. They were easy to talk to and didn't have an attitude like David. Apparently David has the attitude that his "fairness" is governed by how busy he is.
