Did not finish project on schedule and only completed about 80-85% of the project before falling off the face of the map. Contractor also failed to clean up after doing drywall work and flooring leaving a filthy mess behind. Would definitely not recommend.

Jim did a great job on my bathroom renovation. He replaced the bath, tiling and put in a new floor, vanity, cabinet, light and painted. The cost for his services were much better than any other estimate I got. I was so pleased with the end result! I would definitely recommend him.

Jim and Doug deserve the highest marks for their ability, meticulous attention to detail, interest in doing the very best job and their advice on how to do the job in the most cost-effective way. In addition, they are great people with wonderful senses of humor. They did a great job of cleaning up each day before they went home and controlling the usual construction mess so that we could continue to live as normally as possible. Not only do we recommend JMAC Home Services but we will not hesitate to hire them in the future.

Jim and Doug did a nice job and my wife and I am very happy with the results. Jim was very flexible with what we wanted. The only downside to the job was containing the dust from going through the house which was everywhere but we understand it is a dirty job with cutting the slab to install the plumbing.

what started out well became a series of missed deadlines, incomplete consulting, steering us toward his suppliers who we're very expensive and railing against my desire to purchase products online. Then just walking away from the job before real work got underway.

Jim did an excellent job on our bathroom remodel. We have a whole new bathroom and we're thrilled with the end result! Jim was very patient with us as we made our choices. We had a family emergency while we were planning this project and he put everything on hold for us. He gave us a good estimate of how long the project would take and he worked on our bathroom (not going to other jobs) until it was finished. He and his helper were very friendly, helpful and trustworthy. He cleaned up every night and was back the next morning. He solved some problems that come with our older home and took the problems in stride. He made great suggestions and steered us in the right direction on some important decisions. We highly recommend JMAC Home Services and would hire him again for any other projects that we would undertake.

We are very pleased with the work done by Jim and Doug. They are both very personable and professional. They are fun to have around and even put up with our very rambunctious puppy. The new shower is a thing of beauty. Doug even lined up the grout lines in the niches to match the grout lines of the rest of the wall. They cleaned up before leaving every day. We highly recommend them. When our neighbors water heater broke, they had a new one installed within a few hours.

Jim installed a beautiful ceramic kitchen tile backsplash for us - we selected the tile and Jim recommended grout colors and molding styles. Our newly installed backsplash runs along the bottom portion of our kitchen window and frames it nicely. Everything was done on time and there was no mess for me to clean up. Jim and his team were very professional and courteous - I highly recommend them for any tiling needs. I will call on him again for future home improvement projects.

Jim is so great to work with, I plan on hiring him to do another job soon! This project couldn't have gone smoother. Jim (and Doug) worked in my condo while I was at work over a course of 3-4 days. Jim is meticulous, professional, neat, and friendly; which are all things I really value in a contractor or handyman. I highly recommend him!

It took 2 1/2 weeks to complete. Jim and his team were courteous, professional and fun. I'm very pleased with the results. He was very respectful of our house, covering carpet with drop cloths, vacuuming tile dust and recommended a tile company to purchase what was needed and offered suggestions. I have already recommended his services to 3 people, one already hired him to tile the kitchen.

The owner and his assistant were very courteous and took the time to cover flooring and furniture near the work areas. The first bathroom they encountered a shut off valve behind the tub which they capped off. The second bathroom when they removed the tub surround there was damp wood and mold which extended to the sheeting on the house . The moldy wood was sprayed and removed. New material was installed including new OSB,house wrap,2 x 4's and drywall. This was a totally unexpected water leak. They repaired everything and finished the bathroom remodel in a timely manner. The job site was cleaned up every night .I would recommend this company for anyone needing a remodel.

JMAC Home Services renovated our full bathroom. I gutted the bathroom down to the studs. JMAC took it from there. They updated the entire bathroom which included updating/adding new shutoff valves, installing new tub, drywall, ceramic wall tile around the tub/shower, ceramic floor tile, the vanity, vanity top, faucets, vanity mirror, light fixture, light/exhaust fan with timer, toilet, baseboard, and door. Working with Jim and Doug was a great experience. They did excellent work and were easy to work with. They showed up as planned and were in communication throughout the entire process. Our bathroom had a small closet with a door between the shower and the wall. The closet was very small, dark, and hard to access. Doug recommended we remove the door to open up the closet making it easier to access. It was a great suggestion! It took about 2 1/2 weeks to complete the bathroom start to finish. We were very happy with the finished product. We already have plans for JMAC to update another bathroom.

I have used Jim in the past and he always does excellent work. I thought the disposal was a goner, but he assured me it could be repaired instead of replaced. He scheduled the visit promptly and repaired the disposal as promised. As always, Jim was professional, friendly and courteous. He has done major and minor repairs for me in the past from replacing a ceiling in a family room to unclogging a backed up bathtub and his work is always first rate. I would highly recommend him.

We got an estimate for a total bath remodel over 1 year ago, but due to a series of unforeseen circumstances, we never had the work done. When we were finally able to proceed, we called Jim, left a message, and he returned our call promptly. Fortunately he had saved the original estimate that he had given us and agreed to do the work, although he was not available until February 2015. Jim and Doug started in early February. They tore everything out--toilet, shower, vanity, baseboards, mirror, medicine cabinet, storage cabinet, and tile flooring. They updated the electrical wiring and insulated before they replaced the shower--they relocated the fan and vented it to the outside--repaired the holes in the ceiling and walls and primed the walls--relocated the light fixture--tiled and grouted the floor--replaced the toilet--painted and replaced the baseboards--did some necessary plumbing repairs and then installed a new vanity. We didn't get the mirrored medicine cabinet until after they finished, but they came back a few days later and installed it for us. Jim always kept us up to date and patiently answered all our questions. He and Doug were a pleasure to do business with. Their work was careful and meticulous and I would definitely hire them again.

I'm completely happy with the work done - it looks beautiful. I would definitely call on Mr. McGilvray for additional projects in the future.

Jim has many years of experience with all aspects of renovation and repair. He is careful and makes sure that everything is done correctly. When encountering difficulties (especially found in older homes), he is creative in coming up with solutions. Jim is always good natured and treats his assistant with encouragement and praise.

I called many contractors. Most did not even call back. Jim called back promptly, set up a date to look at the basement windows and arrived when he said he would. He was very nice. He took the info he needed and said he would get back to me with an estimate. He never called back and he never sent an estimate. I only hire those that follow thru even on the simplest of tasks...as it shows how the work will go from start to finish.

Called provider regarding remodeling my bathroom. Received a call back sounded like the owner of the company was on the job which is fine after talking for about 15mins about the project i was told he would call me the following week to take measurements and get an estimate because he would be in my area. Never got a call back he could of been really busy but still it's no excuse to ignore a future lead at the very least provider could of called to set a future date. I run a computer repair business on the side of my 2 other jobs and as busy i am i would never do this to a potential customer it makes one wonder "if this person were to come work on my computer or home or whatever will they show up and finish the work?"

Very professional, kept us updated every step of the way. Easy to work with, no hidden surprises. Would definitely use again. Cleaned up every day even though we were not staying there during the construction.

Overall, we were pleased with the service that JMAC provided. We got several estimates and theirs was exactly the same as some of the others, so we felt comfortable with the cost of the job. Jim and Doug were on the job together and were conscientious and even fun to have around. They worked very hard, did not ever slack off, and were responsive to requests. The weather was unpleasantly warm and humid and they continued work at full speed in spite of the unavoidably uncomfortable conditions in the basement. They also cleaned up the job site every night to the best of their ability. Drywalling is messy and they tried hard to contain the dust and respect our property. They used drop cloths and plastic sheeting. While Jim and Doug provided excellent service, there were two areas we think could have been improved: (1) we were not fans of the electrician who installed the lighting. We found his attitude to be the opposite of the always positive, helpful tone we experienced with Jim and Doug. This electrician caused some minor damage to furniture in the room and denied it. Further, he cut a hole in the laundry room wall to pull wires and neither patched it nor called it to our attention so we could ask Jim or Doug to fix it. We requested that this electrician not return to our home and so Jim willingly completed the finish work for us. (2.) Although Jim and Doug are excellent drywall installers and we are delighted with the smooth surface of the new ceiling, we have noticed some areas where the paint is slightly thin and not as even as we would have preferred. We noticed these areas after the job was completed and the workmen left. We did not request any repainting after the job. The repainting we did request during the job was done quickly and graciously. As stated at the beginning, this was a positive experience and we are happy with the results. Our ceiling looks great and the room is very improved. We would confidently hire JMAC/Jim again and would recommend him to friends.
