Husney’s Landscape & Irrigation

Working with Jim and the staff was such a pleasant experience. The project crew, Blake, Jacob, Alex and Bob were very punctual and professional. They did a fantastic job!! Would definitely use them again!!

They were very professional and did a great job on the pond. The sprinkler system worked the best it has in the last two years this was the first year Husney worked on it . I was very pleased.

The system has been working great since he did the work. He even suggested something we could do ourselves at a lower cost than if he had done it. I think we had more problems than he had anticipated, but he stuck with the job until it was done.

Both jobs went very well. Written estimates were comprehensive and provided in a timely manner. We received prior notification of service calls and crews arrived at the times promised. The work was done accurately and in the timeframes provided. Crews were respectful of our property, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.

They were very responsive. They came back when I noticed weeds coming up and pulled them. The finished product looked great. I will use them again when needed.

awesome - the yard is beautiful and low maintenance

Mark came right on time and in his hour service call (he only needed a half hour) was able to review at least half of the irrigation system. All four of the valves need to be replaced, the manifold needs to be rebuilt and a blowout port installed. Additionally, our control center was original (1990) to the house and it needs to be replaced. I have already scheduled the work to be done. Once that work is done I'll give a complete review as the entire system couldn't be tested because of the valves and old control center.

I have been using this company for years. They are honest, professional and always provide excellent service.

Dan explained everything to me in detail, as he went through each step. That was very helpful. My husband recently passed away, so learning these systems is all new to me. He was patient and understanding. I will be using Husneys to set up and shut off my system from now on. Very pleased with their service and professionalism.

I really enjoyed working with Jeff and his team on design ideas for our outdoor living space. The entire team is friendly yet professional , responsive, and very talented. They spent a considerable amount of time discussing my ideas for the space and offering wonderful suggestions for problem areas. They provided a well designed plan incorporating both my ideas and their suggestions. In addition to the standard "birds eye" view they also provide a ground level rendering of the plan using photos of the actual area. I found this extremely helpful in visualizing the plan and how it would actually flow. The only downside was that the initial cost of implementing the design plan was considerably higher than what I had anticipated however Jeff was more than willing to work with me to figure out options to bring the costs more into line with what I had budgeted . We have not yet implemented the design however we plan to begin work on the project in spring 2016. I have full faith that Husney's will provide the quality, workmanship and high standards I expect. I can't wait to work with them to complete our project! I would highly recommend

The shrubs were gorgeous and are growing well in their new sites. The lawn has grown in full and healthy. The workers are friendly, knowledgeable, take pride in their work and leave the work area clean. Their work is always of the highest quality. We've used Husney's services for over 20 years and always return to them. Their price is probably a bit higher than other companies but they are well worth it.

Always excellent service provided. Staff is always very professional and caters to the customers requests. I highly recommend this company for all your irrigation needs!

In mid August our landscaper noticed a very wet area in our back yard lawn and suggested that we have someone come out to check it out. So I called Husney who does our start up and shut down services and who installed our system. The gentleman who came out (Mark) checked all the areas being watered and looked for leak or some other malfunction and he found that our rain sensor was not working correctly and that there is an area in our yard that is clay and this cause the wet area. He adjusted the timer for the amount of time that area was being watered and repaired the rain sensor. This is the first time have had Husney out for any service at all with the exception of the start up and shut down services. The fee that they charged was minimal for their travel time and time spent at our house. I should also note that the fees for start up and shut down services have not changed for the past six years. We use Husney with complete satisfaction and will use them as long as we are in a house.

They removed tree stump grinding debris, brought in topsoil to repair that area and also to level out a larger area, and planted new grass and a spruce tree. The grass germinated fully and on schedule and looks even better this spring. The tree came through the winter in good shape and has lots of new growth. Based on multiple estimates their pricing was competitive.

They are very good. The workers are very good. There were two guys that came. They were very prompt and knowledgeable. Gail, in the office, was very good about getting everything in line.

This company doesn't run an honest business. They rip customers off with unfair practices. I called the service provider to fix a leak in my sprinkler system. The service tech showed up and performed maintenance work on the system, pointed up some additional leaks and fixed those leaks. For some 'mysterious' reason, the original leak that prompted my call to the company could not be replicated. He charged me $200 for his 'maintenance' work and asked me to avoid using my sprinklers for 24 hours. When I turned the sprinklers on the next day, the original leak popped up. I called the company back and they sent another service tech to repair the problem and promptly charged me another $85 for the service call. I am done using them. Please stay away from this company.

This company is top of the line. Everyone, from office staff to Dan, Art and Marc is friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. They arrive on time and get straight to work. They take their time and do the job professionally and it is always done correctly. We are lucky to have discovered them.

Our back yard has a complex layout. Dan Husney designed a perfect system with two zones for the grass and four zones for planting beds, each with sufficient nozzles to do the job. Rob, their man who did my front yard in the past, was as usual, fully professional and competent.. The work was completed in a day, tested the next and then Rob returned to school me in preparing a schedule of watering. They also ran a long underground line so that I could have a spigot near the garage. They built a handsome support for it, with a copper top. We were entirely satisfied with the work done, the professionalism of the team, and their own enthusiasm for the work they do.

The landscaping and construstion were bid separately. The landscaping side desgined the landscape and walkway. Mr. Husney listened to my concerns about deer destruction and chose plants that were highly resistant to deer foraging. On the construction side, they told me where I could look at and get paver samples so that I could choose the pavers that worked for my job. The landscaping and construction were completed in July, as promised. They returned in late August to reseed the areas of lawn that needed to be replaced after the landscaping was completed. They were prompt and polite. The landscape lead, Jim, instructed me on the care and feeding of the new plants, and he even called back in October to check on how things were fairing. Everything looks great and I have received many compliments. I am looking forward to seeing my new plants in the spring!

It was excellent from their office to Dan himself. I couldn't ask for a more personable and helpful team. They followed through on their promises and did a phenomenal job. I would highly recommend their company for any type of work. I appreciate the Husney's Team.

Husney's did landscaping work for me and all of their employees were knowledgeable and very polite. They called the same night to make sure that I was satisfied with the work and in the time since their service,they have stopped at my home twice just to check up on whether or not I was still satisfied. I would highly recommend this company to anyone wanting good work,and even better customer service. Thank you husney's.

We found them through Angie's List a couple of years ago. They have excellent service. He made us aware of some problems that needed to be fixed that we weren't aware of. They did a good job. Their price seemed a little bit above average but it's worth it.

These guys are top notch. As with everything I have had done with this company, I could not be more pleased. Jeff initially drew up the design for my front and back and part of the back included the patio that was installed. Dan and Rob came out for that portion and this reflects that work. The design included a very intricate pattern which took quite a bit of planning before they could ever hope to start the work. Dan and Rob brought me samples to the house so that I could pick the stone that I wanted to use for both the patio and the steps that would come out from the house. The prep work that was done showed me that no corners are cut to just get the job done. It's all about the details with these guys. The steps will be there for eternity and if a tornado ever comes through, the house may go, but those steps won't budge. They really thought of everything even to how much room to have at the top of the steps to make it as easy as possible to exit the house without having to worry about turning around to close the door. Rob and all the guys that did the work were very prompt, courteous and a pleasure to have at my home. I had another patio done prior to finding Husney's so I have something to compare both in terms or finished product and in the work that went into it and this was heads above the rest. Pricing also was very reasonable considering the size of this patio. This goes almost across the entire back of the house and has separate seating areas. They also added lines for lighting if I would want to add that at a later date. As I said, they thought of everything. You need not look further if you want quality work and guys that really know what they are doing and really take pride in their work.

I wrote another review last year on my initial meeting with Jeff but had not had the work done yet. I wanted to follow up with this review on how the work was actually completed. They are also scheduled to return to do my back yard this year but this is on the work that was completed last year in the front of the house. A separate review was done for the patio portion of the job. The front had to be re-landscaped since the previous "landscaper" really was not. The difference is like night and day. I could not believe the transformation in my front yard last year and nothing was even grown in. This year, now that I can see the finished product is nothing less that amazing. Jeff had done a design and I could see what it would look like on paper, but it's not the same as when you see it for the first time in real life. I also have something to compare to in terms of how the plants have grown as compared to how the plants grew from the original plantings done by the other guy. One would think that these plants have been here forever from the way they are flourishing. It's taken three years for some of the original plants and some still aren't doing well. The preparation of the soil is a big factor!! I have that yard that people admire when walking by and the yard I always wanted to have. I will also caution anyone considering having work done, do not deal with anyone who does not do a design FIRST!! I made that mistake, TWICE. I really started to believe that no one did that, even though I thought that should be part of the planning stage. It will be well worth your time and additional cost to get that so you know what you are getting. If they can't give you that, they aren't landscapers, they are just people that put in plants. There is a big difference. If you are going to invest your money, do it once and you will save in the long run. I have had my stuff done twice before finding Jeff. I am now looking forward to having the back completed and quite a bit of that had to be redone as well, both because it was not done well in the first place and also because the plants were not prepped properly and have been struggling ever since to establish themselves only to lose their battle. Jeff knows his plants and is very patient about sharing his knowledge. I have also worked with Renee, who is a peach, and if she doesn't know the answer, she will look it up and get right back to you. Everyone that has been to my house has been prompt, courteous and just a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them for all your yard needs. I had a red maple in front that had been previously planted, that I was hating because it was so lopsided, but Jim pruned and shaped it last year so that now it looks like a totally different tree. It's actually round now and growing in beautifully. You cannot go wrong with this group. I am beyond pleased with all the work done and would use nobody else, EVER.
