Ohio Basement Authority

We live in a house that was built in 1925 and have been battling water in our unfinished basement every time we would get several days of moderate to heavy rain. Even when the weather was good, the basement always seemed kind of damp. With all of the rain this year, we finally decided it was time to do something. We weren't looking to finish our basement, just create a reliable, dry storage and work space. We got three estimates from major basement waterproofing companies in Columbus and we were able to get the biggest bang for our buck with Ohio Basement Authority. Cory was great - he listened carefully to my goals and only suggested stuff we needed to meet those goals -- nothing more. When it was time to do the work, the crew couldn't have been better. We had heard stories from some of our neighbors about their experiences with this kind of job ranging from uncomfortable to downright awful. However, Ohio Basement Authority was great - these guys were very respectful of our space, tried to keep dust to a minimum, maintained good communication and had the work done quickly and efficiently. We had a minor issue with our discharge line after they were done and they came out to repair it on the same day. We've had numerous people work on our house over the past few years and these guys would be right up at the top. The efficacy of their solution is still TBD (still waiting on a big rain), but we already notice a huge difference in the air in our basement (much drier - no more musty smell, etc.) The quality of the materials (underground drainage system, sump pump) seem to be of good quality as well.

They did a very good job, led by Foreman Mike McDonald. It was a very hot day but he and his assistant stayed right with it and got the job done very much to our satisfaction. They made sure the concrete was level and took care as to not apply too much poly-foam to crack or damage the area attached to the pool. They cleaned up afterward and and explained what they did and why to my satisfaction. I am glad we went with Ohio Basement Authority for our lift and level needs!

My sump pump was not working...It probably hasn't worked since the house was built. I don't have problems in my basement...but If I have a broken sump pump....I needed to replace it with a working one. They did the job...replaced the pump...I assume it's working...we don't seem to get water in our sump drain but if it appears...hopefully, the sump pump will remove it!

Brendan was our inspector and he came out and gave us an assessment of the situation and recommended solution. Old school plumb bob hanging from the joist to show how much the wall was out of plumb - no fancy trickery here. He gave us a quote and kept in touch at my request as we weren't quite ready to have the work done. Today was work day. Jose and another crew member showed up for this 'half day' work around 8:45am and were done around 11:30 after having installed 9 supports as planned. We had cleared around the wall per their instructions in advance. They covered the floor in from the outdoors and installed a plastic wall to catch any dust. In the end (and after working the outdoor portion in pouring rain), the work was done efficiently, and with extreme care to not make a huge mess. I expected at least a thin coat of dust on stuff in the basement, but I don't even see that. Nice Job, Jose!

providers were on time and professional. They had difficulty sanding the areas because of the latex paint on the walls. They walled off their areas as well as possible but there is a fine dust on everything in the basement (I tried to remove as much as I could). It was a full day job and seems to have been done well; now it is up to me to put the place back together. I would have put covers on more things left in the basement had I known of the dust but, overall, they did an excellent job. It is not the kind of thing you want to spend your money on.

They were prompt, explained the process, answered questions, and got the work done in a timely fashion. The only tiny issue we had was the slight difference between the pictures (in a very nice, thick booklet they provided) and the actual strap installation. They picture showed all straps completely to the floor when all of ours weren't, and the picture showed a different type of top anchor. The installation gentleman took the time to explain the installation and variance to us. There was also a slight snafu on the end billing because we changed the number of straps from 14 to 11 a day after speaking with Corey. No problem in straightening it out, though. Corey contacted us promptly and fixed everything. Overall, the experience was as pleasant as home repairs can be, and the issues minor -- both explained and fixed. The only reason we gave a B on quality was because of these minor issues. If an A- would have been available, that's what I would have chosen.

from the first meeting with receptionist to meeting with sales rep and getting estimate and financing through the end of the job, everyone was prompt, courteous, KNOWLEDGEABLE and professional. do use them for basement/foundation work. everything is guaranteed for --like--almost forever!!

I originally purchased their Angie's special Sump Pump inspection & maintenance package for $49. Upon inspection, the original battery backup pump (installed 15 years ago was not working or repairable). After discussing various options, I decided to have them install a new system that included a new regular pump combined with a battery back up unit. Brian removed the old equipment (some of which was salvageable for possible future use in another separate sump in the basement), then installed the new unit. Inspection and the new equipment install was completed in about 2.5 hours. Their tech Brian was very personable and friendly, shared his recommendations without being "pushy", cleaned up after himself, and did a very good job overall. I will definitely use them again.

We have a new home, only one year old that sits on a hill with a ravine in the rear. We were concerned that the condition/stability of the foundation. Jason was great. He clearly explained everything he was doing and provided us good info on what the condition of our foundation was. He offered options on what to look for in the next few years. He was very knowledgeable and did not push us into doing any work at this time. In the future, should we need foundation repair we will certainly use Ohio Basement Authority.

The crew arrived at the time they said. They were very polite and professional. The total installation took about a half a day. Everything works great, and the loud sump noise is now gone

We are very pleased with the results of the installation of the Clean Space product. While our crawl space was relatively dry compared to many crawl spaces, it had begun to get much more damp over the 26 year lifetime of our home. Now we have a moisture barrier on the walls and floor, so there is no dampness at all. In addition, the product is bright white, and we have gained a nice storage area that is clean, dry, and warm. We believe that we have solved the problems associated our crawl space, and while the product was expensive, we feel it was very worth-while. The installation process was very smooth. The installer was polite, and careful as he moved through our home to get to the crawl space door. He did everything that I asked him to do during the installation, and explained precautions we should take (such as not puncturing the floor with sharp objects, or not storing objects too close to the walls of the crawl space). While the process usually takes two days to install Clean Space, our installation was completed in one day because our crawl space was not as nasty as many crawl spaces are. We like that the lifetime warranty is backed by a nationwide network, Basement Systems. This means that if the local company is no longer in business, any warranty claim can still be dealt with. Since it is not uncommon for basement repair companies to come and go, we felt it prudent to go with a company that is part of a larger network. In addition, their sales materials were clear, and the sales representative was informative and helpful.

It went very well. We knew a large area of the floor wasn't level by about 1 1/4" because a wall wasn't load bearing that probably should have been, but the sales person did not add that service to the price. Instead, he made a note of it for the workers to look into. After the project had begun, I was given an explanation of what needed to be done to raise the floor and given a price. They quickly adjusted their plans to pour the concrete and install the smart jacks before finishing the encapsulation. They finished in two days. The floor was raised 1/2", which is guaranteed to stay that way, but we are responsible for raising the floor further every three months until it is level, if possible. The floor feels more solid and it is noticeably more level. They also did the necessary things to do the job, like rerouting the drier vent and rerouting a duct. The encapsulation is working as expected. The crawl space is now room temperature and the above room's floor is also room temperature.

They were just excellent. It is unbelievable how fast they worked. They showed up on time and always communicated well. We recommended their services to our neighbor.

Saw ground watered gravel, where 1 pump put in on outside corner of house. Wet while everything else is dry. Called, he did something, but still wet.ps your site said I was too late to reply at the time.

It was great. I worked with them. They're open to my suggestions about what should go. They did a really good job and it's been working great for the last six months. I had no water problems.

They were excellent. They fixed a wall that was caving in and fixed some downspouts. They did exactly what they promised and they did an excellent job. They were very personable and knew what they were doing. They explained everything before it was done.

I had one small problem and I think I need to call them back because the concrete that they put down has some little fine cracks in it. I have been satisfied up to that point. They did water proofing in my basement. The interaction with them was very good.

Very well; manager made arrangements to meet us at the house when we'd be back in town, to make sure everything was done appropriately. When one issue arose, he sent a crew back over to fix the issue - and they arrived within several hours to make the fix! Crew was very courteous, prompt, and professional.

Jason arrived on time and started by listening to my concerns. He was highly knowledgable and took the extra time to explain how and why every crack in my basement occurred. I was afraid I would need extensive foundation work (or at least some) but that was not the case. He explained that they are not like a lot of other companies that use scare tactics but instead honestly explained why I didn't really need work. There was some slight bowing to the other walls that was within tolerance but to be safe I asked for a quote so down the line I can make sure no walls move at all. The quote for thirteen state of the art carbon fiber beams with a lifetime warranty was surprisingly good so I will definitely be moving forward with those eventually.
