In mid-November, I noticed an outside crack in the crawl space outside wall. I contacted Ohio Basement Authority (OBA) to have it inspected. An inspection appointment was set up. Travis arrived on time for the appointment and inspected the crawl space, the basement, and the area in the garage adjacent to the crawl space. Travis asked if we had any sticking doors or windows or any cracks in the dry wall. We showed him the areas where we had these problems. He reported that the only problem related to the crawl space wall crack was in the outside wall of the crawl space and was due to settlement which they would be able to fix with pier supports to stabilize the foundation. We included the Keep Crawlspace Warm & Dry package since the insulation and the plastic sheeting for the radon system would need to be removed during the construction work. This package would result in a better appearance of the area following the work. Travis estimated the work would be about 2 to 4 days in duration. We were contacted by OBA the next day to schedule a time for the work. January 2, 2018. In mid-December, OBA called and told us they had a cancellation and could do our work earlier, but those dates didn’t work for us. On January 2, Ryan, the project foreman, called before arriving to let us know they were on the way. They arrived on time and he introduced us to his team of Nate and another coworker (sorry that I don’t remember his name). They rolled out plastic sheeting and taped it down so they wouldn’t mess up the floors as they went in & out. The first day they removed the old wall insulation, dug out the gravel in the crawl space to work on the footers and installed the nine Push Piers. They did a good job of cleaning things up before they left for the day. Ryan kept us informed of the work progress and let us know that they would be able to complete the work on the next day. On the second day, Ryan and Nate, stabilized the foundation with the piers, replaced the gravel backfill in the crawl space, put up the SilverGlo wall insulation, Spray Foam, the Drainage Matting and the CleanSpace vapor barrier for our Radon system. They did a very good job of cleaning up after they were done and asked us several times if we were completely satisfied with their cleanup, which we were. The crawl space now looks like a NASA clean room! We are very satisfied with the work by Ryan and his team. They set a very high bar for all contractors by their exceptional work, good attitudes and friendliness.

Ohio Basement Authority was the only company I called and probably the only company I would trust with my basement based on their commercials and literature mailed to my home but most importantly the reviews from lots of satisfied customers. Three hours were spent with us during the initial consultation. Everything was explained in detail and all questions answered. We never felt pressured but when all facts were put in front of us, it’s pretty clear what needs to be done. Denial only gets you so far. A “reminder” email was sent out the Friday before the job was to begin. As if we could possibly forget what we’d been working towards for the past 6 wks—great time to clean your basement ;) The morning of the “big day”, Mike (foreman) called to let us know they were on their way and would arrive by 0730. I appreciated this because we weren’t expecting them before 0800. Introductions were made as soon as I opened the door. Mike allowed as much time as we needed to answer any questions and explain once again what would be done and a general timeline. Once we had our last minute questions answered, they hit the ground running. Plastic was put in the foyer and down the basement stairs to collect as much dust/dirt as possible. All our belongings were covered with plastic and the furnace was turned off to avoid dust from getting upstairs. The crew was very considerate of the homeowner during this entire process by trying to keep the basement door closed at all times to limit the noise/dust. The house does get cold (this job was done in December), not so much because of the furnace being turned off, but because they are carrying in/out heavy loads of cement/gravel and need to leave the door wide open as they do it. When I saw how hard they were working and the loads they carry, an open door didn’t bother me one bit. At the end of the first day, I was told what to expect the following day. The job was finished by 11:30am on day two. At the end of the project, the plastic was all removed, the foyer floor dry mopped and doors/handles wiped off. At this point, Mike showed me the finished basement and reviewed the workings of the new sump pump. The entire project was not nearly as bad as I had envisioned but it does leave a lot of very very fine dust in the basement to clean up afterward. Don’t get me wrong, the crew left the workspace spotless but there is no way they can remove 100% of this dust. It needs to be vacuumed over and over again to get it all. These guys are hard working, polite, considerate, personable and I would not hesitate to hire this company again. ***The only suggestion I would make to Ohio Basement Authority is, after day one, it would be a nice touch to lay clean plastic over the dirty plastic (foyer) so the homeowner doesn’t track dust throughout their home that evening.

Though we had to wait a while for their estimator to come, we found that he was willing to understand what we wanted and propose a solution specifically fitting our needs. The installers were on time, clean and fast. They knew their job and did it.

Went great the guys that did the work were outstanding, professional, polite. They made sure that I was fully aware of all they were doing and what to look for in the future. Cleaned up area worked in, just an outstanding outcome.

The original drain pipe that went from the downspouts and sump pump to the street had long time collapsed and every time it rained, we had a pool of water in our side yard. Since Ohio Basement Authority had done another project for us and we were really pleased with their service, we contracted them again. Rich and his two-men crew did a fantastic job in one afternoon. We were particularly pleased with the fact that Rich personally dug very carefully around the utilities cables, especially the Internet cable. The three cables were buried just a few inches below the surface. It would be easy to hit and cut the cables, but no worries. Rich did a superb job! All three men were very easy and pleasant to deal with. My husband and I very much appreciate their work. We requested quality and we got it! We highly recommend this company.

Overall it went very well! Work was completed on time and any minor problems were resolved immediately.

It went well. It took a while to schedule. But, they arrived on time and the work took 1-1/2 to 2 hours as they promised. They cleaned up after themselves. Despite torrential rains after the repair, we have not seen any water.

Ohio Basement Authority was great to deal with. A real human being answered the phone, they scheduled an estimator to come out within a week, they emailed me confirmation of the appointment and priority-mailed me an information packet that included a book, references, and information about the company and the estimator. When I called to cancel (we signed a contract with a company that was able to send an estimator out sooner) the fellow who answered the phone was super nice, and he followed up with an email confirming the cancellation. Very impressive!

New drainage system and sump pump installed. steel bracket placed to shore up basement wall. workers were on time, friendly, very conscientious as to clean up, and totally professional.

I picked them because of what they did so the price didn't concern me. The drain is working great this morning while it's raining. The work was great, however, mine was for an exterior drain and they tend to work more for drains around your house but mine was for the house to the street. Although they did good work, I would not recommend them. I would say you need to look for another company if you need exterior work. They have a system that goes around your house.

Excellent. Called to get work done timely and stayed until the job was completed. Nate Klingenberger completed the basement wall and drain work, reviewing each step with us to make certain we understood what he was doing and were happy with the entire job. Mike and his assistant did the work on the concrete steps. Explained everything and did an excellent job of doing a complete clean-up and made sure we were satisfied with the job.

It went better than I expected. The work was done before it would have been a much more involved and costly repair. It was not nearly as expensive as we had feared. Also, it was a much less messy job and the crew finished in about 4 hours. They cleaned up well before leaving.

This was a long excruciating process from beginning to end. The piping was done as planned and resulted in a working sewer line. However, our back yard was a mess for well over a year. We were not prepared for the mess that we and our neighbors had to endure d/t yard torn up, fences removed, and the weeks it took before the ground settled enough for them to come back and level it off. Our yard was left with no top soil and more rocks than one can imagine. Only after this could the fences be replaced. We paid to have the rocks removed, covered the bare lawn with bags of top soil, and then had to wait another year before it could be spit-seeded.

Everything from making the appointment to the final payment went smoothly. Everyone that I had contact with at Ohio Basement Authority was extremely courteous and professional. The sales representative took his time to explain the process of what they were going to do and answered all of my questions. The installers were on time, friendly, and did the work exactly as the sales rep. stated. The work I needed done was costly but well worth it.

Very well. Upon calling Basement Authority we almost immediately received a return call and an appointment was scheduled with their sales person,Zeke Fowler. Mr Fowler arrived on the date and time scheduled. He provided us with information about Basement Authority, what products they offer , options as to solutions regarding our flooding problem. He gave us quores that same day. We asked to be given additional time to make a decision and Mr Fowler honored our request. He didn't pressure us at all. When we ultimately decided to use Basement Authority our project was scheduled for about 10 days out. Both days of the install the Basement Authority workers arrived on time,went promptly to work and accomplished their work in a very professional manner. When the job was completed the crew leader Ryan and his team Nate,Andy,Anthony and Nick cleaned up the area to our satisfaction. We will be using Basement Authority again for stage 2 of our project.

They were professional, organized and on time. A drainage system had to be installed in an area where the floor meets the wall, requiring them to remove some walls. I feel that they could have avoided one of the walls that they removed and could have done a nicer job of it. A few days after they finished the job, we had a tremendous amount of rain. I was very glad I had the work done!

It works! No water in the basement after large recent storms. That's most important. People were very friendly and courteous. However, there was a disconnect with the inspector which was called a miscommunication. I can't help but think that I had to pay to have two laborers sit in a truck in front of our house for about 3 hours. There was dust from jack-hammering the concrete floor, but they curtained off the area well and little dust came into the house. I had a lot of work cleaning up the floor afterwards. While it was not specifically stated in our contract, I would have thought they would sweep the floor. There was also a misconnect between the front office and the laborers. Front office called to get my opinion of the work thinking they were already done. This was on a Thursday, but they worked Wednesday and Friday. Nobody called me to get my opinion after the work was finally completed.

Outstanding work from first initial contact to job completion. David Wirtz was an excellent inspector/salesperson. Santos and his crew (Pedro and Jose) arrived early and completed the work (installed a Smart Jack and a dehumidifier) in expert and timely fashion. Clean up was immaculate. Everyone was courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to hire this company again if needed. Excellent! Thank you.
