I can't say enough good things about my experience with Ohio Basement Authority! My sister called me after receiving an outrageous quote from another basement company. We were both interested in encapsulating our crawl space. Not only was the other companies quote astronomical it came from a very pushy salesman. She asked around and heard great things about Ohio Basement Authority. Travis, their inspector came to her house and not only was she blown away by his knowledge but the quote was a fraction of the other guy. I had him come give me a quote a few days later. Travis spent a lot of time inspecting my basement and educating me on the options they provided. He was patient with me and in no way pushy. I chose to have a new sump pump installed and to have my crawl space done. Dave and Devin came to do the installation and they could not have been more professional and friendly. I was treated as though I was a family member. They even put up with my overly friendly dog! Devin went to work right away while Dave spoke to me about what exactly they were doing. They were respectful of my home and I couldn't be happier with the end result. They truly went above and beyond! I will be using this company again for insulation and a radon system. I only wish more companies could be as honest, kind and professional as this one!

The Ohio Basement Authority team called before they arrived and arrived promptly. The crew was ready for work and began promptly. They kept the dust to a minimum and cleaned up after them selves both days. The project took two days as they explained before I signed any contract. There professionalism was appreciated and they kept me informed of their progress and I inspected their work as they went along. From start to finish, the job went very well. The initial consultation was very detailed and informative. The guys that were on site during the job (Martin, Josue and Josiah) were very courteous and professional. At the end of each day, Martin would walk me through the progress and asked if I had any questions. We had a drain installed around the perimeter of the basement and "drains" coming down from the windows to catch the water overflow. We had a new sump pump installed and carbon fiber reinforcements put on 2 of our 4 bowed walls. I would definitely recommend them to anyone needed this type of work.

Each was friendly and provided a quote. Then I tried to follow up 4 times (over a month period) to have the work done and the receptionist always said they would have Aaron call me back. He never did and the work was never done. They clearly were ignoring the work. Don’t waste your time waiting around for a quote, if they find other work the like better they won’t call you back.

Workers Valentin, Jesus, and Every have a definite work ethic!!! Went right to work keeping the area clean and tidy. They left no mess. They were in and out in a timely way!!

Provided information for cleaning up our 2 crawlspaces on initial appointment. Provided manual and estimate. On the day of installation the crew arrived on time and cleaned up well when they were done. We are very pleased with what they did in our basement.

6/20/18 had a nice salesman show up named Zeke to evaluate everything that would need done to stop a very minor but annoying leak in my basement. The previous owners did a great job of masking the problem, but he was very knowledgable about what we needed to do and like a good salesman tried to upsell a lot of other unnecessary items along with it bringing the total close to $10k or more. I opted out of some, as they would've been nice, but ultimately not needed. 8/29/18 install day: Two vehicles show up with 3 total workers. At some point though, only two remained throughout the day. They worked their ***** off and got everything done in one day though! It was remarkable. I offered them water as it was hotter than Hades. Upon reviewing the work after they left, some spray foam had landed on some of my appliances. Dust had covered a ton of items in my basement. Luckily they did cover some furniture in plastic, just not everything... So cleanup was a mess for my wife and I. I had to call them within a week or so because I noticed a small drip coming out of my wall about 4' high and thought, "well this shouldn't be happening." Called them early Sept 2018 to set up a time for a tech to come and review the work... They were to come today 9/26/18 at approx. 10am. At 10:45a called and they said "Wes" will be coming at 2pm. I cancelled two doctor appointments just to be there for his arrival, only to be told they were coming at 2pm... I'm starting to question the lifetime warranty of this system now... They preached to me early that we aren't "some Chuck in a truck, fly by night crew." Well I'm formally disagreeing so far.

We had water in our basement and Roto Rooter was original contact to evaluate the situation. We were informed that our sewer main was fractured and needed repair. We received their estimate and then looked for counter offers. Ohio Basement Authority came with the best quote for the work. Once service was scheduled, and then rescheduled due to the need for different equipment the crew arrived. They wanted to run a camera back down the main line to locate the damaged section and location of the line. After they ran the line we were told the sewer line was fine, no significant damage was located and they advised us to not continue with the job. We were clearly relieved to not have to pay for this repair. Then we were provided with a bill for $2,120. They charged us more than half the original estimate to come out and do nothing. This seems like a failure to properly plan and evaluate on their end. We were told the cost of equipment rental and the crews time needed to be compensated. I can understand this logic, but the cost associated seems as through they should have run the line prior to the work to evaluate the need and the overall difficulty of the job. Doing this the day of the job, leaving, and charging me for half the original quote seems ludicrous.

Ohio Basement Authority installed an interior waterproofing system in our basement, as well as a new sump pump, and 4 carbon fiber braces on one of our basement walls. While the waterproofing system and sump pump have been working wonderfully, there were some issues with getting them installed. In May, Jiovanni came out to our house to give us a quote and explain how the waterproofing system worked. He was, and has been throughout this entire process, extremely nice, courteous, and professional. However, he made some “promises” regarding our project that the foreman, on the day of the install, explained to us were physically impossible. Jiovanni told us that we could install the waterproofing system without installing a new sump pump, and just connect the system to our already-existing sump pump. He also told us that they could install the waterproof system around the steel I-beams in our basement without affecting the integrity of those beams, and further, he told us that this would be a 1-day project. When the day of our project installation came around, we met the foreman for our project – Rich. He also was, and has been throughout this whole process, very kind, courteous, and professional. However, after taking a look around our basement, he essentially told us that it would be physically impossible for them to connect the waterproofing system to our current sump pump, as this pump was at a higher elevation than the rest of the basement (our home is almost 100 years old, and the concrete floor in our basement has shifted over time). Further, he told us the waterproofing system couldn’t go around the steel I-beams (thus, they couldn’t put the system right up against those walls), and that it would be a 2-day project, not a 1-day project. I had only scheduled to take off 1 day of work, so not only were my husband and I scrambling to figure out which of us could take off work the following day, but we hadn’t planned on purchasing a new sump pump. After talking with Rich, he called his supervisor and they agreed to install a new sump pump free of charge. While I really appreciated this, it just shouldn’t have happened in the first place. After the crew finished the project in 2 days, there were a number of days where either my husband or myself had to take time off work for the electrician to come and put in a designated outlet for the sump pump, or for the city to complete their final inspection (as OBA had to pull a permit for this). While I completely understand the need for all of this, I wish that Jiovanni had either been up front about the logistics of the project, or felt comfortable saying, “I don’t know the answer to that” and getting back to us with an answer. I understand that the salesmen/women don’t have the years of experience that the foremen do, but that is what caused most of the problems for us. Overall, the crew did an excellent job. They were extremely clean and respected my home/our property, and were very professional in all my interactions with them. It’s been about a month since the waterproofing system/sump pump were installed, and we have had no water in our basement, even with some of the recent heavy rains (which is so unusual for us!). After the city completed their final inspection and our project had officially ended, one of the supervisors with the company, Jeff, reached out to me to see how everything went. I voiced my concerns with him about all of the miscommunications along the way, and he was extremely understanding and apologetic. I also told him how professional, responsive, and attentive both Jiovanni and Rich were, as they both were quick to solve any of the issues that arose, which I greatly appreciated. Despite the miscommunication, I would absolutely recommend Ohio Basement Authority, and plan on hiring them again for other needs that we want to address.

Once we got over scheduling challenges (project was rescheduled a few times due to rain which is understandable, or a higher priority job), everything went really well. Ryan and crew arrived on time as planned and did an excellent job fixing the issue. After digging an area of the driveway, it was clear that the drainage line had crossed diagonally underneath the brick driveway. Replacing it would have required removing most of the bricks on a sloped driveway to reach the crushed pipe. Ryan, creatively, proposed installing a new line on the side of the driveway requiring only a narrow strip of bricks to be removed and reinstalled. Ryan and crew were hardworking, competent, creative, caring, and thorough. After completion of the work, they tested the new drainage line which all worked very well. All in all, working with Francis who provided the initial diagnosis and estimates and Ryan and team who did the project was pleasant and a good experience. I will utilize this company again.

Estimator crew were very detailed and explained repair they were recommending in detail. Repair crew arrived and introduced themselves, boot covers were used when they came into house. Crew explained the repairs in detail before starting. Walkways were covered with a heavy plastic to protect carpet and wood work. Repairs were completed-everything was completed with attention to detail. Excellent cleanup by repair crew. All debris was removed and taken away by crew. I am very satisfied with this companies employees and their work.

Logan and Paul did an excellent job installing the window, but also working to make sure the excavator did not damage the lawn or greenhouse while digging the hole. They were both friendly and arrived on time as promised.

After Brendan, the inspector/estimator, discussed an overall plan with us, the crew of Ben, Collin, and Jose came for the installation, a large job which included waterproofing (trench and sump pump), some 30 foot pilings, and several wall anchors. They were prompt, courteous, and very willing to explain and discuss the work as they moved along. As our home is older, they ran into some unforeseen issues but always alerted us to any changes that needed to be made before implementation. Ben came up with creative solutions to some tricky problems. The team displayed good craftsmanship and finished on time even while including some work for which they weren't really responsible, but culminated an extremely successful project. These guys really worked hard, nonstop throughout each day – the hardest working crew with which we've ever contracted. I was surprised at how they were able to minimize the interior dust and the disruption of the exterior landscape, and they did a very nice job cleaning up after the work.

The crawl space is divided into two four sections with two of the areas tight and difficult to access. Three were relatively dry but a bit musty smelling. The fourth has standing water. From the start with Drew Black, the inspector and sales consultant through to the job completion with Manuel, Valentin, Jesus, and Arturo I was very satisfied with the level of professionalism and attention to detail. Drew was very good at explaining their system and the various options with imposing any pressure to upscale the project. He was a good listener and I think together we came up the optimum price/performance for my situation. The crew showed up on time and emerged from the truck with smiles on their faces and ready to work. The crew was lead on the first day by Manuel. He had obviously been well informed about the details of my job and was attentive when we did a quick run-through. They offered to remove all of the old insulation out of the floor joist and I readily accepted. I wasn't sure that was going to be part of the deal, but it sure cleaned things up nicely and gives me confidence that I won't have mold/mildew problems with the flooring. Valentin, the regular crew chief, headed up the crew on the second day. He asked several times if I had questions and seemed intent on making sure that I was going to be happy with the work. They did excellent work and conducted themselves in a professional manner. It was nice to hear some occasional singing coming from the crawl space (someone who enjoys what they are doing is likely to do better work).

The whole process from the visit with the sales rep to the final clean-up went without a hitch. The sales rep is knowledgeable and straight forward, with absolutely no pressure. The installation crew led by Mike McDonald was great. Very professional; explained what was going on and some of the reasoning behind everything and they were very respectful of our property and house. Definitely would use Ohio Basement again!

Ohio Basement Authority came out and developed a plan to fix the problem and an appointment was scheduled about 3 weeks out. One of the highest rated providers on Angie's List told us there was nothing he could do to fix the problem and left. OBA showed up as scheduled and the job was probably a little tougher than estimated as a crew was there for about 12 hours. Several days later we had a day of endless rain and water again came through the walls. OBA was right back out and dug up the front and found the problem and fixed it. I couldn't be happier with the results. Highly recommended.

Our initial consultant was very patient and explained how our drainage and sump pumped worked. He determined immediately that our sump pump was the problem and was able to make arrangements for a new one to be installed that day. He also took the time to explain all of our options to help avoid a flooded basement in the future. The installer that came later in the day was also great to work with - he was able to get the sump pump installed quickly and even had a dehumidifier on his truck that he could install at the same time.

The inspector, Francis, who came to do the inspection and give me an estimate was very professional and was able to thoroughly assess my issue both in my basement and outside. Told me my choices and provided an estimate that was a bit on the high side. However given the importance of the job, quality needed, and comparisons, I agreed to proceed. The job got scheduled a week out. I received a reminder call and the installers came on time with a 20min or so advance call to notify me that they were on the way. They explained what they were going to do, performed the sump pump installation inside and also fixed the pipes outside. They then showed me what the cause of my pipe problem was outside once they dug out the old ones. The job was absolutely well done and would use this company again! Totally worth the price!

I had a problem with flooding in my basement and had no idea where to go for help or where to start but knew it was time to remedy the problem. A quick Google search lead me to Ohio Basement Authority. I submitted a request and received a call and e-mail the next day. The e-mail option worked best for me as I work 12 hour nights and sleep during business hours. They were helpful and set-up an appointment with me for an assessment and estimate quickly. Before the appointment I received information in the mail on what to expect and a picture of who to expect at my door the day of the appointment. You never know these days right? Drew came in was personable, knowledgeable, not only with the services, causes of basement flooding but financially,i.e. best options (business degree) and patient as we looked over the needs of my basement repair and my options. I never felt pressured or uncomfortable. He had pictures and answered any questions I had. I really didn't know what questions to ask though. I decided to commit and Drew was so helpful and respectful with helping me to finance the project needed to fix my basement. I was able to set-up the job for a time that best suited my needs and with time so that I could do some demolition myself to save some money. Rich, foreman and crew, Amilicar and Oscar, were the absolute best! I could not have asked for anyone better. Rich was very personable and knowledgeable and the crew was extremely respectful of my home,mother, dog and night-shift sleep schedule. They left my home better than they found it. Rich gave me his phone number and welcomed me to contact him at anytime with concerns or questions. a promise he lived up on. They worked very hard and long hours and were able to complete my project in 2 days. My only advise to the company was to possibly hang plastic in doorways to confine concrete dust a little better. I have an un-ventilated basement so the dust traveled. The crew made sure to put plastic on the floor and keep the door closed to maintain as much as possible and cleaned the floors upon their departure. Upon Rich's arrival and assessment of the job he brought to my attention some foundation issues that were not mentioned originally. He was completely honest and gave me all of my options to fix the situation and his recommendation and helped to attempt in financing structural support that was needed. I felt no pressure and only comfort in his concern for my home but he was also cognoscente of the cost and ability to come up with the finances immediately. He gave me all my options but also explained they would still do they job without the addition of the structural supports alleviating pressure but also conveying the importance and need of my repairs. He explained everything in detail and was also realistic. I ended up having them place carbon supports on one wall and intend on having them come back to do the other needed wall when I can finance it. During demolition the washer was pushed away and a sink tore out which hid the fact that my washer drained into my sump pump. Upon discovering this I texted Rich and he quickly responded and was able to arrange to come out the next day to address the situation. He added a pipe and hooked everything back up for me. I have had other construction on my home and had many issues that took months to remedy and found trash and other messes that were left by the crew. This crew was not like that at all. They asked before using restroom although I told them they could, they were always polite to me, my mother and my dog. This crew was quiet and showed only the utmost respect. They worked hard the entire time they were in my home and they cleaned up after themselves. I realize these are things expected of crews but somehow this crew exceeded my expectations and I can't find words to convey it. I suppose the fact that they worked hard the entire time, kept lines of communication open, delivered and exceeded upon my expectations and were nice and remedied situations no questions asked, almost immediately, with my needs at the forefront when I feel like it would have been a process with other companies. impressed me. Everything with this company has been easy and fluid and considering I live a nightshifter's life that says a lot. I felt no pressure but only helpfulness and compassion for my needs. I would highly recommend this company and especially Rich's crew with Amilicar and Oscar!
