This has been one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a business. I had work done on a crawl space and the replacement and addition of a backup sump pump. The work was scheduled to be completed all at once. On the first scheduled day/time, no one showed up. I texted the scheduling team and after approximately 3 hours it was determined that the technician was not going to be able to make it because he was still working at the previous days job. On the second scheduled day, it was determined that measurements were not accurately taken for the crawl space so that work could not be completed. They were able to install the new sump pump and the backup pump. However, they did not schedule the electrician to install the correct outlet. The third scheduled day no one informed me it was on the schedule. The only reason I knew about it was because the technician actually called to say he was not going to make it. The fourth day the electrician came and installed the outlet. The fifth day the technician could not do the work because the plumber needed to move a pipe had not been scheduled. The sixth day the work was finally completed. After taking so much time off of work, I asked for a discount which I did not receive!!!!! It is very sad because I have used them before and was very happy with the quality of the work. I will not ever use them again and I would recommend anyone who is considering using them to look elsewhere. There are a lot of quality b

My review is about the Cleveland Ohio crew. DO NOT TRUST THESE SCAMMERS!!!! They damaged support beams with their epoxy braces said they would fix, every team was informed of the damage never did fix it, they said they would trim the metal beams to size, they did 1 of the 2 that needed trimmed as to not block the glass block windows. The waterproofing wasn't anywhere close to properly installed. They used white duct tape and tacks with white tarp instead and thought that was acceptable. They also tried to get away with not installing covers over my basement windows on the outside, which were installed improperly after asking about the covers during 3 different contractor visits. When contact has been made with them they ignore our calls and won't return them. Then tell the loan company, Greensky, they spoke with us when our call logs prove otherwise. Greensky is also a scam. They are trying to make us pay for time and materials when the job wasn't done even close to done properly. They only did 2 things right out of our contract a sump pump install, 2 glass block windows, and cement work. Otherwise garbage. The last time works was done was around june/July time frame of 2024. Been unable to contact since.

Signed up to have steel reinforcement beams installed to prevent further shifting in a basement wall. The installer showed up and pushed us to go with carbon fiber instead. He insisted that it would not impact cost or timing--he even showed us pricing that would have been higher with the carbon fiber, despite our originally being told it was a cheaper option. We explained that timing is important and he insisted that the permit change and additional inspection would only take a week, so we agreed and they performed the work. We scheduled drywall repair two weeks from the install date and flooring installation the week after that--work that we need to complete in order to sell the house (our primary residence, but we recently moved). We checked in several times but never received a response (despite being told someone would follow up), but kept at it until we finally managed to learn that no permit change had been submitted. They finally told us it was submitted (two weeks later), but when we checked with the township they said they didn't have it. We are now waiting for the permit to be delivered, and have now been told that it will take four weeks from delivery of the change for approval and another week at least to schedule the inspection. In the meantime we have had to reschedule the drywall and flooring out to indeterminate dates, and we are at least a month and a half out from being able to list the house, with all that means in terms of additional mortgage payments and, in the current rising interest rate environment, housing market risk. Bottom line is that the installer pushed us into a product that was likely easier and more profitable for the company and lied about the timing of the required permit change and never filed the paperwork to have the permit change processed. The customer service is unresponsive and we have repeatedly been told the manager is unavailable--in a meeting or on vacation or some other excuse for calling us back, which they never do. This is costing us real money and exposing us to additional housing market risk, and forced us to reschedule with two other contractors. I would never recommend Ohio Basement Authority.

Kenan T. Came to the house to thoroughly explain what OBA can do and gave me a quote on May 23. I agreed to use the company and gave him a down payment for the work and the work was scheduled for June 22 and 23. But I was notified June 21 to reschedule because of a problem with the permit. After several phone calls to the city permit office by me, work was approved for June 23. Brandon and Jabari did a nice job, others came from OBA to help with the plumbing and inspect the work. There were a few problems after the work was done (no hot water, leak in the faucet that does to the washer) that were addressed by OBA the next day or the next week. I really appreciate OBA and the follow up that they provide to make things right, Jeremiah was very helpful. It is a messy job but they cleaned up the area very nicely after they were finished.

I had the best experience with Ohio Basement Authority and Daryl! I was really worried when I saw a crack forming in my wall upstairs. I called Ohio Basement Authority and they scheduled an inspection for three days later. Daryl was on time and actually walked us through his entire inspection, explaining everything he found and what to look for when it came to potential problems in the future. He did discover the problem, showed us exactly what was happening, and walked through all of our options. He even took the time to walk us through photos of what could happen in the future and other problems he often finds in houses. He was straight forward, honest from the start, and really cared about us and our house. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Brett, Josh, Derrick, and Breyten, were all very courteous, professional and friendly. They made sure everything was covered to protect from dust and did their best to keep the door to the outside closed when they were not going in and out, due to the brisk temperature. The finished product looks very professional and blends in well with the existing structure. This was a very extensive undertaking and I am very impressed they were able to accomplish in just 2 days! I definitely recommend OBA. We had a tiny bit of water accumulate in one corner of the basement after a heavy rain last summer (‘21). Not wanting to ignore the problem, I contacted OBA for a free estimate. Daryl was out soon after and he was extremely professional and courteous. But what I appreciated most of all was his honesty and not pushy. We ended up taking advantage of every service they offer (water proofing, reinforcement of a slightly bowing wall, finishing crawl space, new sump, new outside drain). While I’m never crazy about such a financial commitment, I feel that it was well worth the investment. The actual crew headed by Miguel was just as professional, doing an amazing job. His manager Zach was extremely responsive, working around our availability after the job was mostly finished, to tie up some final details. Go with OBA. You won’t regret it!

Mitchell Spurlock, a Service Technician, came to service/check the sump pump battery backup and system and provided an excellent service. He was very knowledgeable and thorough. He was concise in determining what was needed (a new battery). He promptly replaced the battery and tested and retested the system. Initially I met with Jordan Wilson who walked me through every aspect of the proposed work and the contract. He answered all my concerns and was professional. Jordan was accessible during the various phases of the work. Justin & his crew were responsible for the drain install, the carbon fiber straps and the sump pump. They arrived on time each day and outlined the planned work for the day. They were efficient and professional. David Reid was the lead for the crew that would tear out the basement foundation wall and rebuild the wall. Each day David would explain what work was planned for the day. David’s crew Larry Greathouse and Brad Ferguson were professional and always courteous when answering and explaining their work. They were diligent in managing the debris each day on site and mindful of safety and security.

What a great experience! This is not something anyone looks forward to doing, but Basement Authority made it pain-free. My sales person was Francis Purcell who gave us a ton of information, and answered all of our questions. Our basement team was Matt Huges, Ahmed Francis and Chavaughn Williams. They were on time, hard working (surprisingly quiet for having jack hammers), and they kept us informed every step of the way, including when they would be arriving and leaving, and any issues, however minor, that came up. I can't say enough about our experience. We used them due to we know several people who have, and had the same great experience, and I run across them in the mortgage business, and all experiences have been great as well. You guys know how to run a company!!!
