Mike, Lori, and the crew were very responsive, answering our phone calls and emails promptly from the first request for quote all the way through the installation. The salesman came out to our house to explain the product and measure all the windows and door we wanted to replace. He had a few suggestions for changes we might want to make, like replacing a triple casement with a double to let in more light and change some small double casements to single, awning style windows. We went with his suggestions, and had the window over the kitchen sink bumped out a little to create a knick-knack shelf over the sink - it looks great and so much bigger looking than the double casement that was there originally! He was able to bring out sample windows of both the brand he originally quoted us as well as a similar, but slightly cheaper option. After we placed the order, there was about a six week wait for manufacturing. The installation took 2 days, and Mike was onsite both days, with a crew of about 4 people total. They did a great job putting the new windows in and were able to replace the original wood trim around the outside of the window for most of the windows. For the openings where they had to replace the trim, it is a near exact match. Everything seems to open and close smoothly, and we've been through a few good rainstorms at date of review with no leaks, which seems like a good sign. The crew cleaned up after themselves and took away all the old windows. Overall it went really smoothly and I'm so glad we decided to do the whole house at once. Radiant Windows did a great job start to finish and I would use them again.
Description of Work: Replaced all the windows in our house, plus the patio sliding door. Total of one patio door, two fixed windows (garage) and 10 casement/awning windows + 1 half-circle window.

The Radiant Windows team is wonderful, as are the Sunrise Windows that they installed. The Radiant Windows team arrived on time, worked professionally and efficiently and had no problems dealing with my two dogs. They are a well-run team. They were courteous and friendly. Mike Shadoan, the owner, was on site at the start and worked part of the first day. Upon completion each day, they cleaned up everything throughout the house and outside. I have nothing but praise for this team and this company.Thank you very much, Radiant Windows. The Sunrise Windows are airtight and beautiful and they have been perfectly installed. Likewise for the ThermaTru doors. If you are interviewing potential window replacement companies, you should definitely meet with Radiant Windows.
Description of Work: Install 12 replacement windows for inefficient original (1978) Andersen wood casement windows. All but one window were double hung PVC replacement windows. The final window was a PVC casement window. They also installed a new main front door and a new "people door" alongside the garage door.

This company provided excellent service from day 1. Always on time, called to confirm, arrived on time during the day of install. I didn't even have to run the sweeper after they left; they cleaned up all their mess - and took all the old materials, windows, and door with them. I had NO clean up; which I really appreciate.

This company is a great company to deal with. Mark, the salesman who came out was friendly, knowledgeable, and worked very hard to find a product that would meet our needs. There was no high-pressure sales pitch. He answered all of all questions in an honest and professional manner. The Sunrise vinyl windows that he showed us were beautiful and of very high quality. We actually had purchased them, and paid half for the deposit; but then cancelled the order, because the color didn't match. We would have purchased them, had they been able to match the colors and decor of our house. Unfortunately, they're not able to be stained, and the color options did not meet our needs. Mark and the owner, Mike worked very hard to try and find a product we could use. They explored many different window manufacturers and options, but nothing worked for us. Mike cheerfully refunded our deposit, along with a very nice note. Both Mike and Mark are professionals who put honesty and customer service at the top of their list. They want the customer to be happy, even if the customer isn't purchasing their product. There's no doubt in my mind, that had we gone with this company, they would have provided an outstanding product, quality installation, and guaranteed customer satisfaction.
Description of Work: The provider came out to give an estimate on full tear-out replacement windows. We have 31 windows in an English tudor style house. The outside needed to be a dark brown and the inside needed to have a dark stain to match the existing woodwork.

Thank you so much for the kind words even though we couldn't find the right product combination for your home. Even though the Sunrise brand offers 6 different prefinished woodgrain stain colors, they just weren't accurate enough to your home and like I said before in our meetings, "We don't try for 95% satisfaction. We strive for 100% satisfaction and beyond! We are always trying to exceed our customers' expectations." Again, thank you for the opportunity you gave to us! Excellent experience from start to finish. Mark, the saleman, was professional, knew the product he was selling inside and out and didn't pressure me into buying. After having received other estimates, I decided to go with Radiant. Mike, the owner, came out to measure the project and offer his suggestions on styles/finishes. How many other company owners do their own measuring? It's obvious he is serious about his craft and the services he provides. He provided me with an accurate install date and kept me updated as the installation date drew near. Radiant was able to work the install around my busy schedule so I didn't have to take extra time off work. The installation crew was on time, pleasant and very professional. They were efficient, cleaned up after themselves and even showed me how to operate all of my new windows/doors when the job was complete. Should I ever need additional window/door service, I'll be calling Radiant first. I couldn't be happier with my new doors/windows!

Let's start with the beginning Their salesman (Mark Capitoni) was very easy to deal with. He showed up on time and was very thorough. At least from our point of view, that is. It appears he wasn't as thorough when it came to explaining to Radiant how involved the job would be, because the install went quite a bit longer than his original estimate, a mild annoyance for us, but Radiant's owner was understandably less than thrilled. The price was one of the higher bids we got. We opted to use them despite this due to the quality of their reviews. When it came time to pick up the deposit check, Mark was again bang on time. He said we'd be called to set up a detailed measurement appointment. A month later, no call. I rattled Mark's cage and eventually got our appointment. The owner came out to do the measurements and discuss details. The install, itself, went well, other than the extra time (I think they ended up doubling their time on site, from Mark's original estimate). We had metal pan windows, which are a nightmare to remove, and there were a couple tricky areas they had to work around. All work was done very well. No complaints on installation craftsmanship at all. The installers were very easy to deal with, and cleaned up the install debris well. Radiant had recommended a siding contractor that we chose to use, and we'd asked Radiant to contact this guy and communicate schedules and install details, to avoid conflicts between the two trades. This fell through the cracks, unfortunately, causing lots of scheduling problems further on with that install. I'm not blaming Radiant for those problems, however, if that loop had been closed that process probably would've gone smoother.

Thank you for the review, [member name removed]. I'm glad you are happy with the work we did. The contract was signed on June 12th, the measurement was performed by me 12 days later on June 24th at 4pm, and the installation took 3 days instead of 2 days. It was a tough job, but I'm happy things went as smooth as they did. Thanks again for the business and the review!

These guys were incredibly meticulious with the details, timely, listened very well and understood our attention to detail and design. My husband and I wanted custom ordered shatter proof glass screen doors, along with custom triple locking systems for added security. The owner came out several weeks before the install to take a final look and go over all the details and specifics to insure the end product with be exactly what we wanted. Their level of service was great. From the professional sales/engineer who took the time to listen and answered all our questions. No pressure. He worked amazingly well with us particularly because we are very much into the details, design, custom aspects of what we like. Their craftsmen who impecable. Every details of the additional work work along with the doors were gorgeous. All our neighbors have stopped by and asked us who did the work---and they love the design and doors. We weren't the typical customers, because we requested some custom type glass external doors (which added extra weight concerns since the glass with shatter proof and heavier than normal). My husband researched extensively the type of triple locking system he wanted on all four doors, and they worked with us. Amazing results and beautiful finished product. We couldn't be happier with the service and craftsmanship. Price was also very reasonable given all the extra's we required. We had base lined this price two years prior with another contractor, so we knew what we were looking at----and they were very fair. I only wish they did total interior doors, because I have more work I would have liked for them to do based on the great work they did.
Description of Work: "Modified" our entry way by centering our entry door. Previously it was to the left with a glass panel. Installed a gorgeous entry door with over sized beautiful cedar trim external and oversized oak work around internal frame. Installed custom ordered all glass screen doors. All doors also included custom locking systems for extra security level. Installed door from great room to patio along with custom screen glass door, with custom locking systems.

Mark came out and provided us with a quote that we evaluated against three other Cleveland area companies. If you are in Northwest Ohio, there is a seperate "Radiant Windows" company entry within Angie's List that is this same company. The owner of Radiant Window (LLC) hails from Oak Harbor, Ohio. After completing our evaluations, we can vouch for all the advice and guidance Mark provided us as accurate. As helpful as our salesman Mark was on the sales cycle, the owner Mike was even more helpful when he came out to the house to take the final measurements of all the window openings. Mark was personally not a big fan of the extra "tinting" option provided by an upgrade of "Solar Low-e" over "Low-e". Mike took his time to show us a double hung window sample with the extra "tinting" option (Solar Low-e) so we could compare that to a window with just the base 'Low-e" offering. We were very happy and pleased with the "tinting", as well as hearing from Mike that he could get us a free "Solar Low-e" uprade over "Low-e" with Soft-Lite (due to the volume of windows he has sold). We paid half up front and the remainder was due after the work was completed. If you are looking to choose the absolute lowest quote, then this company may not be for you. We have been burnt far too many times to give such a big and important project to the lowest bidder. For us, Radiant Windows was the right choice. Sunrise and Soft-Lite are widely considered to be the number one and two window manufacturers in the industry. Lori, Mike's sister, consistently staffed the (419) Oak Harbor main office phone. Not only did she coordinate Mike's first visit to measure our windows, but she also communicated the install date to us once it was finalized. You can count on Lori to be a very friendly and competent person to reach out to over the phone. On Thursday 10/17, Dan and Phil arrived with the big box truck and our windows. Joe arrived a short while later with his partner. Joe and his partner began the install of all of the "regular" double hung windows, starting upstairs and working their way (eventually) downstairs. Joe was the coiling expert who was able to complete all of the insulation, trim and caulking from the outside while his partner was able to install the windows from the inside out (once the old original windows were sawzalled out). Laying out the drop clothes were the first order of business to begin the day. Meanwhile, Dan worked on the bay window replacement while Phil worked on the French Door replacement (with a sliding door). Since the bay and sliding door were located next to each other, both Dan and Phil were able to help each other out whenever an extra set of eyes or hands were needed. By the end of the day, all 13 windows were completely replaced. Both the bay window and the sliding door were installed as well. Unfortunately, the trim work on the outside of the bay window was not completed above the bay on the outside of the house. This was not surprising to us since the original project was estimated to take two days. In addition, my wife and I both noticed an imperfection in the stain of the bay window. Given the tight scheduling of the installers, I placed a call to the main office and left a message for Mike, the owner, to call me back. Since I had known that Mike had personally done stain work, and I know his personal attention to detail, I asked if he might be able to come out from Oak Harbor (Northwest Ohio) to our home (Northeast Ohio) on that Friday 10/18. Mike agreed to come out. Before 9am, Mike was at our house and began what ended up to be a full days work. After sanding the base of the bay window, Mike successfully stained the bay to our satisfaction. He then proceeded to apply four coats of poly (with slight staining in between) to blend in our final product. When Mike was not staining or coating the bay window, he was outside working on the trim above the bay window on the outside of our house. Mike discussed with me what his plan was, listened to my concerns and adapted his design to satisfy my concerns. Mike did not rush the job. Instead, he took as long as needed to get the job done right. While Mike was waiting to apply the fourth and last coat of poly on the bay window, he decided that he would work on fixing the incomplete install of our storm door on the front of our house. This storm door gets lots of use from the family on a daily basis. As it turns out, the previous installers (not Radiant Windows) we had hired to install this door did not provide the necessary support for our storm door as it was attached to our door frame. As a result, the door would not close completely and was not working the way we knew it should. Mike did not ask to quote the work. He simply went to work fixing it at no extra charge to us. Here we are a week later. All I can say is WOW. The house is so much more quiet (we cannot hear half the noises from outdoors that we have heard forever). Replacing 30 year old windows does make a difference. The windows do not rattle when planes fly overhead. There are no drafty windows or rooms. The old windows and not the house was making creaking noises when it was windy. The neighbors are all jealous. Complements abound and eyebrows were raised. Curb appeal from the road has increased significantly. My wife and I are 100% completely satisfied. You might never have the luxury of having Mike work personally on your project, but take how he approached our project as proof that his company will NOT let you down. Period. You might never meet Dan and Phil and Joe and etc etc etc. all at the same time, but rest assured whichever of these types of guys you will meet - you are getting truly professional tradesmen (not just "window installers") and simply speaking, "good people" as my Dad used to say. I can honestly say I did not fully understand the work involved with what we were undertaking. My wife and I are still shocked that with all that was accomplished, there is nothing (and I mean nothing) that we would have done differently. Thanks again to the entire Radiant Windows Family!
Description of Work: Installed 8 Soft-Lite Pro double hung windows upstairs; installed 4 Soft-Lite Pro double hung windows on first floor; 1 sunrise double hung window over the kitchen sink; 1 sunrise bay in kitchenette (consisting of 3 double hung windows) pre-stained by Radiant to match sunrise provided trim; 1 sunrise sliding door with same sunrise provided trim matching bay.

The sales rep visited my house to give an estimate. He had been an installer and knew his stuff. This is one of the reasons I went with Radiant Windows. I felt the sales rep knew what he was talking about, as far as how the installation would be done and any possible problems that might come up. Secondly, after I decided to go with Radiant, the owner came out to my house and re-measured and checked all the figures provided by the sale rep. There was much attention to detail. Installers were punctual. They arrived within 15 minutes of the estimated time. They were very protective of the surroundings, worked at a good pace. and were the epitome of the saying, "measure twice, cut once." Since this is a new window in an existing wall that never had a window before, I was very interested in having a new window that matched the current windows in the rest of the house. This was accomplished to my satisfaction. I would definitely hire them again.

A great experience from start to finish. Everyone I dealt with was polite and professional. The salesman, Mark, was pleasant...he was not high pressure and did not say anything bad about the other companies I was getting quotes from. We were very impressed that the owner, Mike, came out himself to measure everything, and even came the first day of the install. The install took two days and the whole crew was polite and respectful of our home. When they were done there was not one speck of dust on the floor...they completely cleaned up after themselves. The windows are beautiful. We're very pleased.

The salesman was thorough, informative and kept us apprised of install dates relative to our making a decision to buy; we were comparing multiple bids. The quality of the product became apparent as we compared it to other brands/installers. It is more expensive, but given the fact the slider was almost the entire living room wall width, we felt it needed to be high-quality, energy-efficient, insulating, etc. It was worth the investment. When we purchased we were given a date/time for installation, and the install occurred as promised. Crew was on time, polite, neat, professional, skilled, cleaned up on their way out, took all trash and the old doors away. Garage door required frame repair and updates, well done. Slider required some framing adjustments, caulk sealing, surround trim, all well done. Overall, did a wonderful job on time, on budget. Company followed up after install to ensure we were satisfied with everything, asked if there was anything else we needed, answered a couple of questions and signed off. Contacted us again about 8 months later to see if we had any other windows/doors we were ready to replace. They don't pester, but are very polite and we appreciated the follow up. We would definitely use them again and value the quality of the purchase we made - it has certainly added value to our home.

From our initial meeting with the Salesman Mark to the installation everything went smooth. There was no high pressure sales pitch or badmouthing their competition just reviewing information and answering our questions. When the owner Mike came to our house as a follow-up to verify all of the window measurements from the saleman he discovered our Patio Door was not a standard size. Rather than increasing our cost for a custom door he honored the price quote we were already given. Not all companies would handle this the same way. The installation took two days and on the first day Mike helped with the installation along with Dan, Phil and Jim. They all did a great job by being on time, laying down tarps on the floor, cleaning up at the end of each day and were very friendly and professional. We compared their price to another window company that advertises a lot and Radiant was less expensive. We even upgraded to a better line of windows with Radiant. I would absolutely recommend Radiant Windows to anyone looking to replace their windows.

I was informed by Cleveland ClearReads that I'd have to have outside transponders for water meter reading installed on the outside of my house. I already had outside meters for my water, but they weren't electronic. The old meters were replaced and the new ones installed. In my opinion, the installation of the new transponders were installed with total disregard to the integrity of my house. This included the frame or coil of my NEW windows(only two years old) that had been installed by Radiant Windows. I called to have Radiant windows correct the damage done to the coil. They said, according to my description, that it would cost about $400.00 to replace the coil. They came out, replaced the coil beautifully and only charged me $200.00 for the job. Perhaps they didn't have to replace the whole coil, but the job was done when they said it was going to be done, the cost was reasonable and 'm not concerned about the elements damaging what had been and is now again a great window installation.
Description of Work: Repaired the "coil" around window

I was very impressed with the attention to detail of both workers who arrived to replace the front door. I purchased a Thurmatru fiberglass door with a leaded glass half moon window and screen self-contained storm door by the same manufacturer. I thought that the price of 2865.00 was a little steep, but don't necessarily blame that on the installers as the manufacturer has a hierarchy of prices for different models. I had separately purchased a Baldwin door knob set and spent 137.00 on that item which they also installed. I was disappointed that the "Smart Key" feature did not work as I now have to carry extra sets of keys for the front doors. Overall, Radiant did an excellent job and I was very satisfied. A couple of months ago, they had installed three Sunrise windows ( two 3x4s and a 2x2) for me (for 2525.00) and other than having to come back to install real wood frames (this probably was my fault during the ordering process as they reinstalled the worn old wood frames) I was very happy with the result. Bottom line: the buyer must really discuss every detail during the ordering phase. I would use Radiant again. They were pleasant and efficient and particularly excelled at the details of the weatherizing, ease of operation, and thresholds.

Salesman was very knowledgeable about the products and offered numerous suggestions about the project. The installation crew were on time, efficient and friendly. They listened to our questions and suggestions regarding the work. They spent a lot of time making sure the doors were installed correctly and to our satisfaction. They cleaned up the job site very well.

Everything that you read about Radiant Windows is true so get ready for more of the same from me.They are punctual from Mark that quoted the job to Dan and his crew . Unfortunately for them, it was one of the few 90 degree days in July for the installation, but that did not stop them and they worked an entire day and the clean up was so thorough , it looked as if no work had been done either in the house or on the lawn.. The job ran longer than anticipated, but it was well worth the wait as the trim work that Dan did on the job was AMAZING! Two months later, I am still looking at my new picture window with the Pecan trim and admiring the beautiful detail. I did not think that I would enjoy my new Sunrise windows so much. I read many reviews on windows on Angie's list and waited two years before I could do this work and just kept coming back to Radiant Windows. I am sure that I could have found a cheaper company, but I am certainly glad that I hired them for this job .There was a small issue with the job that was unforeseen, but Mike was reasonable with my request and again that is why you go with a quality company like Radiant Windows.
Description of Work: Installed 7 Sunrise Windows, 5 double hung, 1 picture and 1 awning window.

The installers were scheduled to arrive around 8:30am and arrived by 8:15am and introduced themselves as Phil and Logan. Runners and drop cloths were placed in all of the work areas. They worked inside to remove the old windows and insert the new windows. The new windows were leveled and expanding foam insulation was placed in the spaces to seal the windows. Wood trim was then placed around the window and sealed with caulk. They then placed trim around the outside of the windows and also used the foam sealant on some of the outside areas. Phil and Logan then removed their drop cloths, cleaned all trash from the interior and exterior and then used a sweeper to clean the interior carpet. All windows and trash were then taken away. Phil then went over how to tilt the windows open for cleaning and how to set the locks on the windows when they are left open for air. Phil and Logan answered all of the questions we had and were very professional. Phil was an employee of Radiant Windows (NOT a subcontractor) and had worked there for some time and has installed windows for a good number of years. The windows really looked great both inside and out when they were finished!
Description of Work: Radiant Windows replaced 5 windows in the living area of our home which included the kitchen, living and dining rooms with Sunrise windows. They are also scheduled to replace the six remaining windows on our first floor with Soft-Lite windows in the early spring of 2014.

This was Mike's most experienced crew because our windows were so hard to deal with. They were great. The whole job took one day. They cleaned up very well both inside and outside. They were friendly and pleasant and, best of all, did a great job. Mike is honest and more than reasonable. We even had a good experience with his salesman whose name is Mark who also seemed honest. Radiant windows was not the cheapest but they did a great job and they did it quickly.
Description of Work: They installed 18 windows in our house. They replaced the original casement metal Pella windows which were over 60 years old with double hung windows. We could neither open nor close the windows at the end and the integrated screens were not working.
