Description of Work: They came in to repair the ceiling in my garage. It took longer than the 3 hours, but it's good to have it done.

Description of Work: Communication beforehand with Dan, the owner, was unsatisfactory. He would not provide guidance on the materials I would need to have available for them (to repair four utensil drawers in the kitchen and sliding doors to closet in basement) and he would not have anyone visit beforehand to assess. He and two young workers arrived the scheduled morning to look at my list, and then the owner left the two young men to do the work. My utensil drawers were not repaired because I did not have the correct parts and the owner had only one set in his truck which was also not correct for the repair. They did remove carpeting from a bedroom but after they left, I found I still had to remove carpeting around the closet door and about 75 staples around the room. In the end, I felt the workers were inexperienced. One small task was to replace a door knob in the bathroom. After Dan (not the owner) spent nearly an hour doing this, the knob would not turn. I suggested lubricating the parts, and that worked. Rico, the other worker, was just standing around watching Dan, and I asked if one of them could begin painting the wrought iron rail on the porch which was on my list. After beginning the project, Rico came into the house with the brush in hand and walked into a carpeted area of the house. I gently steered him back outside. When I looked at the painting project after he was done, there was paint on the siding of the house and on the cement ... sloppy job. Dan the owner sent someone back a couple days later to remove whatever paint they could from the siding. I had paid in advance for this Angie's Big Deal and had hoped I would find a company I could use again, but that is not the case.

Description of Work: I called Angie's list to look for a painter who would paint five rooms: kitchen, living room, dining room family room and foyer. The Angie's List rep found an offer from DeLauro Painting for five rooms @ about $1599. The rep put,eon hold while he called this business to ascertain whether the foyer had ceilings no taller than nine feet. I told him that the foyer ceilings were no higher than 9 feet and we proceeded with booking the service. Mr. DeLauro came out to see the rooms ( I believe this was last Friday, the 17). I pointed out to him the stains on the foyer ceiling which were determined not to be caused by water damage and bubbled spot in the kitchen ceiling which measures about 12x14 inches which would have to be scraped and restippled. Today I spoke to Dan DeLauro and he said that the price would now be $2995., a jump of $1400 dollars. He said today that. He was misinformed that the job involved a couple of bedrooms and the foyer and that the job would need four men and one week's work to finish. Because of the significant change in price and his belief that he was misinformed, I want to cancel this project. I notified him of this today.

Description of Work: Mr. DeLauro purchased and installed a toilet (materials and labor included in total price paid . The work was completed quickly and efficiently -- and the his was 80% less than the first estimate (which included putting holes in the walls to get to the pipes to install a new toilet).

Description of Work: They replaced the ceiling fixture in my dining room. They did a good job. Arrived on time and took his time to install it right.

Description of Work: Remove 4 walls for wallpaper, patch, clean up

Description of Work: They did a beautiful job of patching the textures of the ceilings so the repairs blend in with the texture that was there.

Description of Work: Scrape, patch, sand, and seal water damaged areas on ceiling, and primed and painted ceiling. Remoced damaged wallpaper, and installed wallpaper to match existing pattern. Trimmed water warped bedroom door and painted bare wood. Hung wall art.

Description of Work: Skim coat bathroom ceiling for painting...new fence. Shoddy job on bathroom ceiling...they didn't have time to paint it. Worker got lost riding 1 exit away to Home Depot...was left with unfinished fence said it would need to sit a year before it was painted...have no idea why this was not shared when viewing the job. Needed finished work and what I got was unfinished with their suggested remedy to cut the cost of what they did do...very disappointing. I was actually trying them out for future kitchen remodel. I don't think so.

Description of Work: The workers that Dan sent out were terrific. Nice guys who tackled the work as best they could. Unfortunately they did not arrive with all of the tools required for the job (a paneling job requiring a brad nailer). And they mis-estimated the materials needed by a bit - leaving a small amount of the work unfinished. Little things to be sure... so don't get me wrong: I would not hesitate to hire this company in the future.
