When I set up the appt. for my granddaughters bedroom, told them address in Chardon. Once they arrived, hr. late, the asked my dtr.-in-law for $35.00 extra for gas. They already knew where she was, they should have brought it up to me, not spring it on her. thankfully she did not pay. Painted over pieces of scotch tape, rather than simply remove them, then paint.

Emailed on August 30th with the coupon code and a request to set up an appointment. Received no response. Called 6 weeks or so ago and was told he was booked 6 weeks in advance. So I asked for his first available appointment, which was today at 10am. Called him at 10:20 today to find out if he was coming, he told me I would have to wait til next season. I told him forget it, I'm going to cancel, then he said he would come out today after all and he would call me when he left. Called him at 1:30 and asked if he was still coming, he asked where I lived and I told him Avon Lake, which he should have known, and he said, oh, I thought you lived in University Heights. No, it won't be today. So I said forget it, I'm canceling the order. He's got to be the most unprofessional contractor I've ever come across.

Repaired/tuckpointed front porch brickwork and steps. Didn't use up the entire 4 hours, but the work was still worth the coupon.

Again a made up "Service Date" above. Unfortunately your form does not give people room to explain why they are answering questions like I am. Again, called many, many times. Never got a call back. Not interested in people that cannot return phone calls.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. He did a nice job. He was very efficient. Everything went just as planned. He was a very nice fellow. He cleaned up after himself very well. Everything was fine. I only had to pay for the parts and materials he used, which wasn't an awful lot. He didn't dawdle and got it done in the 3 hours that were allotted. The price was very good. He was very fair and forthright. For the most part I thought the quality was good but I won't know for a few years.

The deal was for $99.00 for each room and I purchased two deals. The rate included two coats for each room and but my cost keep going up not to mention the room that cost the most had already been primed. So my $200.00 turn into $700.00 . The room was suppose to be yellow and it came out a dark mustard color. Needless to say I had to have it re-painted for another $500.00. The one room was paint blue and and white, but you see blue streaks in the white trim. They also cleaned their brushes in my bathroom sink when they had full use of my utility sink.

Matt replaced bricks on my front porch, replaced an anchor for the railing to secure it, and locked the stone step so it wouldn't rock. |It was difficult to schedule due to both our schedules, but once arranged he was prompt and completed the work as agreed.

I am still trying to get this work done. I contacted him in August but had to wait until September 18, 2013 to have him come to see the work. I was told it would be done on the weekend . It did not happen. I have sent emails with no response. I have called and got through on Oct. 30th and was told the work would be done. I am still waiting. I would not advise anyone to buy this big deal to anyone else unless you have a lot of time trying to get the work done.

When I bought a coupon for 4 hours of masonry work off Angie's List, I contacted Matt. He informed it would be months before he could tuck point my front stairs. In the meantime, I got a letter from the city warning me the improvements must be made before Matt was able to come out. I had no choice but to have the steps done by someone else. I called Matt before the scheduled date of my work to let him know that I would be using the hours I paid for, for a different project. He said he wasn't sure he could do that and would have to look at the chimney first. On the day he was to come by, it rained. He called me to say that due to the weather, he couldn't make it out that day, but would come back the next day to look at the project. That was the last I have heard from him. I called him the following day and left a voice mail asking for the service or a refund. Right now, I do not want anything from this company but my money back.

I called provider, set up date in August for masonry work. It rained on appointment day and I did not hear from him. When I called he said, work could not be done in the rain and I told him he should have called me. He said he would get me in ASAP, and he would call, I never heard from him. I called again a week later and he said, he was swamped with the deal purchases and it would be October 23rd before he could get me in. On Oct 23rd it rained again. He did not call, I called him and he said, he would get to me when he could. I have not heard from him since.

Matt was hired through a daily deal to tuck-point the brick work around the foundation of my home and around the basement windows if time permitted. I contacted him to schedule in August, his first available day was 10/22. I called to confirm the day before because his ability to do work outside was based on the weather. He came around 11:45A and I paid him an additional $10 for materials. He left around 3:30P. My reason for scoring him as I did was because I simply wasn't impressed. I think he should have been responsible for contacting me. I don't consider 11:45A as on time when you are expected there between 10A-11A. The work was done outside but he never made it inside. I paid for what I thought was 4 continuous hours of work, not breaks in his truck or time spent on the phone. I made the mistake of asking someone else to monitor his progress while I went to work. So it is my fault that I wasn't there to keep him on task and catching spots that were missed. He did a job I simply had no desire or time to do, he started it but I will have to finish it next year. FYI: If he is still running a discount deal for masonry services and you need outside work pay close attention to the expiration date. The weather will impact the outcome and the deal may expire before you can redeem it.

He was not dependable. He took much longer than he promised.

All of the work was done up to my expectation. Matt did quite a few areas that I failed to point out to him. He is a very nice person and gives the impression that he takes pride in his work. The weather caused the work schedule to be set back just a few days but he made sure to squeeze my jobs in so that I did not have to be inconvenienced. I will definitely keep him in mind for future jobs!

My experience has been very dissatisfying. We have been in contact several different times and he has been very flaky. He has had to reschedule the appointment several times and has never shown up to do the work.

Purchased what I thought was a good deal for masonry repair in July 2013. Still have not had work done. This provider does not show up to scheduled appointments and does not call when he cannot make it. You cannot leave a message with him because his voice mail is full. Horrible. Do not use. Will seek refund.

He was always punctual and professional. The job came out looking better than I expected. Matt really knows his stuff. He was very helpful when I asked about certain products. I will definitely use this company in the future for my home and other projects.

No one ever showed up for the appointment and never called. When I tried to reach Matt that day his voice mail said he was unable to accept messages. I got through to him the next morning and he said he was very behind and would call me back as soon as he could reschedule the job. As of almost 4 weeks later, I have heard nothing. I will be looking for a refund from Angie's List and will not contact this company again. Be careful if you are considering his services.

I am very dissatisfied. I purchased a Big Deal on July 3, 2013 for $99.00. It was for Masonry Repair from Matt's Home Improvements. I called there to set up an appointment. I spoke to Matt, who couldn't talk at the time and said he would call me back later that day. He didn't. I called him again a few days later and he said he would come to my home on October 24 between 1:00 and 2:00. I took off of work and waited for him---he never showed up--he didn't even call. I would like a refund of my $99.00 for the Big Deal.

Matt's was to be at my house back in the summer and never showed up. My money has been paid to this provider already ! I contacted Matt some time later and we set another date for him to do the work and again he did not show !!

He worked like someone who really know the ins and out of what they were doing, as was evident also in the end result of his work. Very nice. He was also very pleasant and professional and didn't seem to mind answering questions. I would (and have) recommend(ed) Matt to family and friends.

Scheduled and came within 3 weeks of scheduling...was a coupon product so likely backed up. They came at a time I was not home so unable to talk with them about it. Job was OK, there were places that were not adequately mortared and places that have cracked already which might mean the mortar was not good or that they did not grind out underneath and just covered a crack. So fair job

Matt is a very respectful and competent tradesman. He got a B on Quality because I had to point out some stuff that he overlooked. When I did point it out, he took care of it immediately. He got a B on responsiveness because I had to wait for over a month after buying the Big Deal for my appointment.

Matt responded quickly to my initial call, which was refreshing. He came out promptly to give an estimate on July 13th which was also refreshing. Date to do the work on a Saturday Sept 14th 2 months away from estimate. He started the work on Sept 14th. was suppose to be at my home at 10 AM, but called to say he was backed up because of rain and would be there at noon. Got to my home after 3:30. My husband wasn't pleased as he had to stay home all day waiting. Matt did a little work and then said he would be back with bricks and a different color mortar. Came back a few days later, did a little more work. Bricks he brought weren't quite right so couldn't use them, would have to go back to the brick place and get different ones. A couple days later called and said he couldn't do work that day because his truck broke down at the brick place when he was getting my bricks. Came back a couple of days later and did work, but it started pouring so couldn't finish. Finally came back again on Sunday and worked a long time and finished. It seemed to drag out a number of days to have 6-7 bricks replaced and some tuck pointing. Mortar is still a very light color but my house is old and I'm sure hard to match. The whole project took a little over a week and four trips to my home which was a little unnerving to me because I never knew if Matt was going to be at my home when I got home from work or not. Clean up could have been better, as one of the time's he was there and many pieces of brick were left in our driveway that we had to clean up (didn't want to drive over it) and hose nozzle was broken and no mention of it. He fixed a hole in the brick in my garage which he didn't charge me for which was nice. I don't know, I was happy with some things and unhappy about others. So I rated this project a C . Matt's was a nice guy.

He did a really good job and was very personable. He even noticed flaws that I hadn't seen.

Excellent work! A few minutes late for which he contacted me about. That is the only thing that didn't make my first Angie's List experience perfect. The work was done efficiently and professionally. Very pleasant demeanor for an extremely busy contractor. I never could have imagined getting all of this work done for the price I got . I highly recommend Matt's!
