Description of Work: I received an email with a date to do the job. I tried to contact the provider to discuss what I wanted him to do for the job but could never make contact. He did not answer phone, did not return calls, and did not reply to email. I finally sent an email telling him to not show up until I could talk with him to explain the job. He never replied. Job still needs to be done.

Description of Work: Matt’s Home Improvements did caulking and grout restoration. I have to buy the material which was expected but frankly I got the wrong grout and didn't turn out too well, I have to redo it.

Description of Work: I have bought 2 coupons for 4 hours of ceramic work and haven't been able to get the work completed. I made an appointment (2 months away) to have the work done, however when the provider came he had scheduled only 4 hours for the work and said he couldn't do the work. I rescheduled the work for a Sunday which was not convenient for me. He said I would have to wait another 2-1/2 months for an appointment to do the work during the week, therefore I agreed to a Sunday appointment. On the scheduled Sunday, he called Sunday morning and said he had an family emergency, and couldn't come. I don't doubt that he had a family emergency, however this does not seem to be a good fit for either one of us.

Description of Work: Was a complete failure. It makes me question future use of Angie's List and validity of it's reviews, as this contractor had a A rating. After buying the deal I contacted the contractor and he gave me a 10AM appt on 07/23/13, saying he was booked until then. I purchaed the deal in 02/13. He never contacted me, but on 7/23 I called him and he said he will be late but would be there by noon. At 2pm I called him again and he said he could still come out, but didn't have ladders with him and would need to use mine. As this was unacceptable, we rescheduled the appt for 10AM on 07/31/13. On 07/31 he never showed up or called. I called him at noon and he said his work van was broke, but he could come and do the work another time when I was not home so as not to inconvenience me again. I told him no and he said he would check his schedule and get right back to me. That was the last I heard from him. He never called back, and I am glad, as I sincerely question his ability to do the work. I am very disappointed in Angie's List. I thought that the BIG DEAL would help me take the guess work out of finding reputable contractors. I think Angie's List is a great concept, as I don't have to search everywhere for valid reviews. However, experiences like I had cause me to question continuing paying for reviews when there are so many free review sites and reviews on the Internet. I relied on you to make sure the contractor was going to do a good job. You have to do a better job screening. My confidence in Angie's List is shaken.

Description of Work: After multiple, abortive attempts to get action, or a useful response, they finally advised me that they were out of the carpet cleaning business. Yesterday, after agreeing to provide a refund, they advised me that I had to get it from Angie. I wasted a lot of time. Very frustrating.

I called him a couple days later, he apologized and we set another appointment. Matt didn't show and he didn't call. I called and made another appointment. Matt didn't show and he didn't call. I would like out of the deal.

Description of Work: Took 3 phone calls to get an estimate completed. Work was to be done last week. No show-no call. I called yet again Monday. Scheduled work for Tuesday. Again no show, no call and now it's Wednesday. I'll find someone that wants to work and not waste my time.

Description of Work: I purchased this big deal in May. After a delayed response, the vendor contacted me to say he was backlogged and earliest could schedule was July 16. He seemed only interested that he could come and do the work without seeing it and without anyone being home. He failed to show on the scheduled date, and I finally called him. He sounded flustered and confused, but eventually apologized and offered to put us on the "make up" list for the following week, promising to call that week. He failed to call, and it's been almost two weeks. He has already damaged the relationship and I do not wish to do business with this vendor.
