Mark's Appliance Service

We left a message on Mark's answering machine and he returned our call to set up the appointment. He was very knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem quickly. Our over needed a new ignitor and he had one in his truck. He installed it and tested it to make sure it was working properly. I would definitely call Mark again if we have a problem with any other appliance.

I contacted Mark's Appliance after the electric heating element in the oven literally burned. Having never experienced this before, Mark explained over the phone that this was not uncommon for an electric oven. After taking the appliance information over the phone, Mark soony phoned back with a quote for the replacement part, the timetabel for delivery of the part, and cost of the work. Mark called to schedule the repair within the timeframe provided. Mark arrived promptly, was very courteous and completed the work without a problem. The bill was in the amount he quoted. Mark voluntarily took the time to chat about the various appliances in our home and what we could expect about each over time. I have never had an appliance repairman provide such insight, free of charge no less! Koudos!

Unfortunately I would NOT recommend Mark's appliance repair to anyone now. He never returned my calls and maybe his business is gotten so good that he does not have to service everyone. But he never had the decency to even return my call is inexcusable in this day and age. So next time I need an appliance repaired I will not be calling Mark's! Maybe others have had the same problem.

Mark saved me money by diagnosing the problem over the phone and preventing me from having to get a service call from another company just to tell me that replacing the broken part would cost more than a new microwave. Mark arrived at the exact time he said he would and installed the microwave quickly and efficiently, and disposed of my old one. He cautioned me about the placement of the microwave (previous owners installed microwave too close to range) and offered to alter the cabinets to raise the microwave higher, for an additional fee. Since the previous microwave didn't melt due to its proximity to the range, I declined this offer, but appreciated his low-pressure salesmanship and willingness to put in the microwave the way it was.

I called Marc and he returned my call the next day and scheduled an appointment. He showed up and told us that we needed a part and he had to find out if the company still made the part and he would call back when he found out. After not hearing for 1 1/2 weeks, I called Marc. The next day he returned my call and told me how much it would cost. I told him that was fine and he said he would call when the part arrived to set up an appointment. After a couple of weeks of not hearing anything, I called him again. No reply. After a few more days, I tried calling again. No reply. If he didn't want to do the job I would have appreciated him telling me. This is the second time he has done this. There will be no third time.

Mark's professionalism and advice in the best interests of the customer is appreciated

Called this person three times over the course of a week. He never answered his phone or returned any of my messages. I'll never waste my time with him again.

We started hearing a high pitched noise coming from our relatively new dishwasher. I called Mark's, based on his great ratings at Angies List. He told me over the phone that it was likely the motor. He came out and confirmed that a new motor would be needed. This was a high-end dishwasher that was only about three and a half years old. Mark suggested that we complain to the manufacturer, even though the dishwasher was no longer under warranty. We did that, and although the manufacturer would not cover the part, they were willing to sell us the part at a discounted price. During Mark's initial visit, I asked him about installing a new microwave which I had been planning to buy, and he gave me an estimate on doing that at the same time he came out to fix the dishwasher. After I had received the part for the dishwasher and bought a new microwave, Mark came out and installed both items. Mark is great to work with. He will ask questions over the phone in an attempt to diagnose a problem. He is a real problem solver. I felt like he saved us some money by recommending we contact the manufacturer. He does only the work that is necessary and is conscientious of the customer's perspective. I will definitely use his services again.

Arrived to my home on a Monday, investigated the problem with my dryer not heating, ordered the part and installed it the following day! Quoted and invoiced at a reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Mark was able to diagnose the problem over the phone, and told us what the cost would be. He arrived on time, completed the repair, and charged us what he told us he would charge. Mark was very professional and pleasant.

Mark was recommended to us from a family member. We described the problem over the phone. He returned our call and asked for our oven model no. He estimated the cost and ordered the part for repair. He scheduled a time to come out and called that a.m. before coming. The oven was fixed on the first visit (very convenient). We will use him again should we need an appliance repaired. We are very happy with the service!

It was great. I called Mark's Appliance after another technician said he couldn't work on the machine since it was sparking. Mark came out and said that there were no electrical problems and repaired the dishwasher thereafter.

I will call him anytime I have a problem with any large appliance. He told me to keep the 0ld timer, in case the new one installed, which was not the problem, breaks down.

He did not respond to two separate calls for two different problems.

I'm just thrilled that there are still honest people out there who are not trying to rip people off. Mark could have come out and charge me for a service call, but instead try to keep my costs down. I will definitely call again should I need a repair that I can't handle!

I called Mark's at around 8:30am, left a message and they called me back with about 20 minutes. They said they could be there in approximetaly 1 to 11/2 hours to take a look at the problem. Mark arrived within the time promised and explained what he thought the problem was. He told us what our options were and what the price to repair would be. We told him to go ahead and repair and the job was done within a half hour or so. Mark was very up front, personable, courteous and professional. I would recommend him to anyone. A job well done!

Our 15-year old refrigerator had stopped cooling. I found Mark through Angie's list, and scheduled a service call. Mark diagnosed the problem - he said that this model of refrigerator (bottom freezer) can have frost build-up and close off the hoses that connect the freezer/blower to the refrigerator. Rather than taking everything apart or recommending an expensive repair, Mark told us to fully defrost the refrigerator for 24 hours which would clear out the hoses. This should take care of the problem. If not, he said call him and he would return to evaluate next steps. He did not charge for the service call, was prompt, informative and polite. If our refrigerator continues to have problems I will absolutely call Mark again.

After having been treated very poorly by Sears Home Repair, I called Mark. I spoke to Mark in the morning and he was at my home in the afternoon of the same day. He was a professional and completed the work within and hour.! Mark's total charge, which included the cost of a part, was less than that of Sear's diagnostic fee. When he was finished, Mark took the time to assure me that my appliances were in good shape, explained what I could do to avoid my current issues and then played with my golden retreiver. GOOD GUY!

Mark was exactly what I looked for: responsive, careful, straightforward, timely and professional. He was the only one of four Angie's List service suppliers I contacted who responded in a timely way to an emergency situation. He diagnosed the problem in a free service call, gave me good advice, then ordered the part and performed the installation very efficiently at a reasonable price. He also took a few extra minutes to level my refrigerator, which had been a bit off-kilter. Mark's Appliance offers responsive, responsible and personal service.

He was very up front. He identified the problem and explained and repaired it. He is honest and very knowledgeable. He showed up when he said he would. He is neat and organized.

He is very thorough and very helpful. He gives hints and gives you advice. He is very open about things. You can ask him all kinds of questions and he offers suggestions. I recommend him.

It was an emergency situation, I was afraid the door was going to fall off and he was there within two hours. He repaired the issue right away. I thought he was very reasonably priced and I was very happy with his service.

I will no longer use Mark's Appliance Service nor will I recommend him to my friends and neighbors.

MARC WAS ON TIME, EVEN CALLING TO LET US KNOW HE WAS ON HIS WAY. HE KNOWS HIS STUFF. VERY POLITE, CLEAN AND KNOWS THE APPLIANCE BUSINESS. HE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND HIS PLACE WAS EXTREMLY FAIR. I WILL USE HIM AGAIN.

I called Mark at the end of the day before a holiday weekend. He called back right away and come out the next afternoon. Fast, courteous, and on time. I would use him again for repairs.
