Fireplace Shoppe Of Northfield

Our beautiful fireplace is now finished and we are fully enjoying it. We want to give a shout out to the Northfield Fireplace Shoppe and all the people who did excellent work. John Rada, in sales and ordering, provided us with a lot of helpful information as we made our decisions. Bonnie, at the office, helped us with questions & scheduling. Then John Bailey and Rob replaced our shabby old brick work with clean eye-catching white brick with their excellent mason work. Tim and Craig added our gas line and logs in a safe and totally neat way. And Joe did a wonderful job of installing the fireplace doors. Everyone we worked with was very pleasant and we totally recommend them.

We built our home in 2013 and the gas fireplace in our finished basement put out all the heat & flame of a butane lighter so we wanted to upgrade it to a more robust unit. Northfield Fireplace was able to recommend a superior replacement that fit inside our existing frame and their installation technicians were able to make the swap without damaging the mantle in any way and it looks (and feels) fantastic! We've been a happy customer of Northfield Fireplace for some time now having used them for routine service work on our other fireplaces and have always been happy with the quality of their service.

never gave follow up call,had to call them. Wanted to do more work then I needed. Told me it would be 2 weeks then never called back. When I called again they said it wold be a month.

Everything went great for this service call. Booked the appointment for a date/time that was convenient, and they offered a 2 hour window of time for the technician to arrive. They phoned the day before the appointment to confirm everything. Dean, the technician, arrived on site within the time window specified (they were on the early side of the time window, which was great). Dean did a very thorough job of inspecting and cleaning our fireplace, and was quite friendly and knowledgeable as well. He took care to make sure and tarp the area where he was working to protect the carpet and cleaned up and put everything back just as it was found. We will definitely use them again for future fireplace needs...

Wonderful! Joe came out and measured and also talked to us about style and color we should get for the Gas Insert. Then set up a time for the installation to take place. The installers removed the wood burning cast iron insert we had and took it away. Then they had to extend the gas line to the fireplace and extend the electrical to the fireplace. They knew exactly what they were doing.

This has been an ongoing problem for years. This company found the problem immediately and we're able to repair it quickly and efficiently. We haven't have any severe storms yet to make sure there is no further leakage, but I have complete confidence in their work. They guaranteed their work and said to call then immediately if there were any further issues.

They did a great job. I mentioned that it gets so hot in our house when using it. He adjusted the temperature and that helped. They cleaned every thing up before they left.

They had a different crew for that. They did a partial job. Fortunately, I did not pay the full balance, I only paid half. He was really dragging his feet trying to get it finished. He came to the house and said look, you owe me the remaining balance. I told him, he was 2 months late on the project, so I will send you a check 2 months from today. I was going to treat them as they did me. I was upset. I had to have them come out and redo some things on that front porch. He left wood exposed, didn't cover it up and didn't caulk a bunch of places. It was a mess.

Made apt. to have my gas stove serviced on Oct. 30th 16' and 1st available date was Dec 7th. When the repairman arrived he was here for 10 mins and said "need order part be back in a few weeks". After that I never heard back so I called twice in 2 weeks to find out what the heck was going on. Fireplace Shop said part on order and cost $268m + install for a pilot assembly! I called twice after on 2 separate occasions and asked how can a pilot assembly cost this much? No one could tell my why a pilot assembly was so expensive. The next available day they could come out was Jan 20th 2017 but they never showed up because the repairman said they ordered the wrong part when he arrived at the shop in the morning. They called and left VM they were not coming out and re ordering part. All along Fireplace shop had hundreds of pilot assemblies in their basement and they came back a few days later to install it. I waited all this time when they had pilot assembly in there shop basement and they should have brought 1 on the Dec. 7th because I told them on Oct. 30th I NEED A PILOT ASSEMBLY because my neighbor and I trouble shooted. The job took 1 hr to replace the pilot assembly and their "full service" is a joke. The pilot assembly was installed 1st week Feb 2017 and I had to have another repairman come out 2 weeks later because the 1st repairman laid to much rockwool down and the gas stove was running very poor pooping and making drum noises because the the rockwood was to heavy. The 2nd repairman came out 3rd week in Feb 2017 and thinned out the rockwool and my gas stove is finally fixed and running correctly. The 1st repairman told me this pilot assembly was hard to find with which was why it took so long. The 2nd repairman said we have hundreds of these pilot assemblies in the Shop's basement! My gas stove is in an enclosed porch with 38 windows and acts like a greenhouse. The 1st repairman wanted to bring an electric space heater because he was worried it would be to cold in my enclosed porch. I said you can bring it but your not plugging in an electric heater in any of my outlets in my house. I froze my behind all winter because of the Fireplace Shops mistakes and they don't have enough repairman to make house calls for the amount of service calls that come in. I won't be using Fireplace Shop again.

Went very well, there was a slight problem and they rectified it to our satisfaction. The team including management was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable.

They installed new doors and controls on the upstairs fireplace 2 years ago and did such a nice job we went back to them for the downstairs fireplace. Very knowledgeable and professional. They also do safety checks while installing the system. For example, they noticed we did not have c-clamps on the flue so they installed those at no charge.

The fireplace seems to be working just fine now.

I had to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment, as this is the busy season for fireplace work. A technician named Larry came out and was able to fix the wires that I had destroyed. He determined that the reason that the logs would not turn off was probably due to dead batteries in the unit. They had enough juice to start the fireplace but not enough to turn it off. The fireplace was checked over for safety, and the logs and firebox were cleaned. I was given a lesson on how to turn on and turn off the unit and how to turn it off if the remote should fail to work in the future. Larry was very pleasant and very kind and understanding. I was very impressed by his manner and his professionalism.

The installation team arrived on the date and time scheduled. The were very neat, removed a dirty old wood burner without leaving a trace and carried it out to the barn as requested. They removed the old chimney liner and replaced it with the new one in a 25 foot chijmney. They ran the new gasline and electric circuit. They installed the stove and went thru the complicated remote control operation with us. They didn't appear to be rushed and left the work site spotless. I was impressed because there were so many things that could have gone wrong.

Scheduling an appointment was good. There was one person here doing the work. The clean up was excellent.

The gentleman came out when he said he would and he did a pretty good job. The worker left the area clean when he was finished. We have used this company for awhile.

Very professional and neat. Cleaned up everything before they left. Would highly recommend them, I was even able to get there chimney sweep out during the week to clean my chimney before logs were installed.

We liked them. I thought there was a $100 coupon involved, but we aren't sweating the small stuff right now on this installation. It was clean, prompt and we love the look of the classic oak logs. Thanks.

The men were very good, polite and hard workers. The job took a little longer than expected but came out beautifully. We are getting rave reviews! They also installed a flat screen tv above the fireplace.

The salesperson at the store helped me select a good quality fireplace door and answered all my questions knowledgeably. A time was scheduled to come to my home and measure the fireplace opening. The person showed up on time and was very polite. Once the opening was measured they ordered the doors and scheduled the time to come and install them. The installer showed up on time and was very efficient installing the doors. I am very happy with the quality of the fireplace doors and customer service I received.

Everything went great from start to finish. A representative came to our home to give us an idea of pricing and options, and we were scheduled for the service a few weeks later. The installers installed the new gas line along with the fireplace and logs with zero problems, and it was a wonderful transaction overall. It's also good to know that we have the gas fireplace as a backup in the event of a furnace emergency and helps give us peace of mind!

Good consultation; sales rep knew products, matched same to our requirements. Order was promptly submitted and doors arrived within time-period specified.

Called the Fireplace Shoppe to arrange a repair on my gas fireplace. The burner was lighting but would go out after about 10 minutes of use. The person who answered the phone at the shop was very nice and professional. He asked for all the details on the problem so they would ensure they would have everything to fix the problem. This was done during the Thanksgiving/Christmas hoiday season so they were backed up on their schedule., He was able to schedule an appointment in two weeks. Not a problem for us at the time. They like to allow a morning or afternoon time frame. We booked for sometime between 12:00 and 5:00pm. The technician contacted us at 3:00 pm to let us know he would arrive in about 15 minutes which he did. He was very professional, used boot covers for his shoes and spread a cloth out to protect the surrounding area. He completely cleaned the entire fireplace inside and out to include the burners and pilot. The pilot had not been cleaned in 15 years of use and was extremely dirty which caused it to shut the system down because of the inconsistent burn. He answered all our questions and provided recommendations to maintain the system. Very courteous and nice serviceman. Would definitely use them again.
