Description of Work: Basement waterproofing. Buyer beware. Worst experience ever---honestly. To start, Buckeye Waterproofing did not obtain a permit from the city as required. This one thing immediately stopped work after a day or so and significantly delayed completion. Buckeye used sub contractors when they promised, at least before a contract was signed and they had a down payment of our money, that they wouldn't. Buckeye would not pay one of the subcontractors, which in turn caused this subcontractor to request more money for the job from us and threaten to put a lien on our house. Buckeye did not deliver what was promised. Very sloppy work sealing the seam between the house and the driveway---black roofing tar was used and was hastily spattered everywhere, thick in some areas and thin in others. It is already wearing away, has holes in it and is leaking. Once this company gets you to commit with money, they think they've got you and they do whatever they want whenever they want however they want because they believe you won't go to anybody else because you are stuck with them once they have your floor/foundation jackhammered & opened up. Seriously consider this review. They even made an attempt 2x to collect final payment before work was comleted. I could go on...Truely the worst experience ever.

Description of Work: Waterproofed our basement, but had a hard time getting them to pull a permit and they did the job incorrectly then had to redo it. Concrete is uneven and water still comes into basement. Now they are ignoring us and the Lifetime warranty.

Response from Buckeye Waterproofing Inc
We are licensed and insured in Shaker Hts. and homeowner was very satisfied with the work we did at his home and praised are work at the end of the job back on November. While on the job homeowner also had us do additional work for them because of our performance. Also did all work without getting paid for two weeks because homeowners loan didn't go thru as they said it did and had to wait for them to find funds. The extra work we did do was repair a rotted out sanitary line. Homeowner then sent us bill three months later saying a leak developed in sanitary line and he hired a plumber who repaired it and wants me to pay his bill. We called homeowner and asked why he never called us in first place and that we would have sent someone over to look at and possible repair if it was work we did. He responded with I didn't think about calling you but believes we should pay his $ 600.00 bill. We informed him we wouldn't pay it and now he is mad and taking it out by giving us a bad review for work he praised six months ago.

Description of Work: They repaired 2 leaking cracks in the basement wall. It took more than one try, and they stuck with it until there was no more leaking. I would definitely have them back if there were any more leaks. They were very cooperative.

Buckeye Waterproofing correctly diagnosed a problem we had with water coming under our garage floor into our utility room and family room during a serious storm. They cleaned our gutters. filled a crack in the exterior wall of the garage foundation, dug a hole in the garage floor to make sure there was no water there and refilled it. They were very efficient and treated us very respectfully. We have had no further problems.

Everything went smoothly from the estimate of work we received from Jerry to solve our problem right down to the crew that came to do the work. They arrived promptly and were very professional in their work. Sanders, the foreman, explained to us what work was being done and updated us as the work progressed putting in the drain tile, installing the weep hole cove protection and re-cementing the basement floor. He was very professional in answering our questions about the work being performed. They were very cautious in covering up our things with plastic to protect against the "dust" when the concrete was removed to expose the floor for the drain tile and cleaned up very well when the work was completed - both in the basement and in the driveway.
Description of Work: Installed drain tile around partial perimeter of basement floor at floor/wall cove due to an area where hydrostatic water was making the floor appear damp.

Four men showed up on time, did a quality job, were very professional, answered all of my questions, and did the job right. I N/A for price because I wanted exceptional work, which I received! you cannot put a price on that! they were worth every penny! I would use them again without giving it another thought. Upon inspecting the property on February 27th, 2014 it was discovered that the previous contractor had made an attempt to repair the 4 inch main sanitary line coming from the main floor. It was discovered that the work previously preformed was against code and illegal. It was also discovered that none of the work preformed was primed or glued. the entire existing repair that was installed by previous contractor had to be removed. All new 4 inch schedule 40 had to be re- routed and re- done accordingly. In the opposing room, upon opening a patch in the floor it was discovered that the 4 inch main sanitary line where the raw sewage was pushing up through the flood had a metal tin patch laid over top of brake. This section of floor obviously had to be opened up 3 times wider and repaired with the proper schedule 40 sanitary line.
Description of Work: They had to undo the work of my last company, in order to have a backup system installed per code. They installed the back up system, connected all pipes, replaced broken pipes in another part of basement, added gravel and cement to have a smooth basement floor.I wanted the job done right, they did that!

I own a rental property in Cleveland Ohio on 84th street. The house is a double, up and down. For 10 years after every heavy rain I got water in the basement. The water came from only two sides of the house, the side along the driveway and the back of the house. The property is rented out to section 8 tenants. This means that each unit is inspected once a year. For the last ten years I have been repainting the basement walls, bringing in dehumidifiers and blowers to dry the basement before each inspection so it would pass. Finally I called several waterproofing companies to give me an estimate on fixing the problem and eliminating the water. I liked what I heard from the folks at Buckeye Waterproofing. Their price was good and they really seemed to know what they were talking about. They were able to repair the problem from inside the basement and not have to destroy my driveway. They were neat, courteous and on time. It's been over a year since the work was done and the basement is still bone dry.
Description of Work: They were able to repair the problem from inside the basement and not have to destroy my driveway. They were neat, courteous and on time. It's been over a year since the work was done and the basement is still bone dry.
It went very well. The workers were punctual, neat, and kept us informed during the entire process, answering any questions we had about the process, or maintenance of equipment. They also took precautions to keep our basement free of debris, putting up plastic, laying drop cloth on the floor, and cleaning up any residual dust and debris created during the job.
Description of Work: Waterproofed 2 walls in our basement, by digging trenches in the floors of the 2 walls, installed a weeping system to prevent further ground water accumulation, installed a sump pump to pump out any accumulated water, and applied gravel and concrete over the areas flush with the existing floor. They also removed the old shower, sink, and vanity from the basement bathroom (as per requirements of the job), and took it out of the home, at no charge to us (which went above and beyond the call of their duty).

We have a finished basement that before we had moved in had been waterproofed by a different company that is no longer in business. When basement started leaking hired buckeye to redo work. Originally was only to waterproof but as some of the drywall had to be removed it was discovered that there was structural damage also. They added steel beams to the walls that can be tighted as ground changes and had to drill holes in some block and add rebar and concrete to reinforce before waterproofing could be completed. From the owner to the labors, all were very polite, punctual, and explained everything clearly. They kept the furniture covered and cloths over carpeted stairs. Very neat and respectful of our property and possessions. Completed job in timely fashion. Even took out an old concrete stationary tub for me. Buckeye will be back in about 1 month to tighten beams. My dog will be glad as she is missing their attention.
Description of Work: Waterproof basement and added steel beams to walls where concrete block was bowing in and had cracked. Will come back as needed to tighten beams as ground thaws. This is a 55 year old house that had previous work done in the basement

As a widow i was extremely nervous to hire contractors to do work I knew nothing about. I was afraid of being ripped-off and not being kept informed. I didn't want to over step my boundaries at the same time. I wanted the job done fast and the right way! Buckeye Waterproofing went above and beyond to make sure i was constantly informed and had the patience to answer every question I had no matter how big or small the question may be.. they were on time everyday except one because there was an accident on the freeway. they kept me in the loop all the way through the job so that i knew what was going on. they cleaned up after themselves on a daily basis and although i was a little skeptical at first, i'm glad i used buckeye waterproofing for this home project. i talked to 2 other companies and 1 was so expensive and the other was 2 hours late for their appointment. I would hire them again 100 times over! My basement is now great and safe for my grand kids instead of them running under my feet all the time. I can store stuff safely with no fear of it being ruined it does not smell and its safe and has no embarrassing odor.
Description of Work: the bottom of my basement walls were leaking so bad. my basement was completely useless space. could not even store stuff because it would be damaged so badly. so they came in and removed cement around my outside walls. they installed drainage pipes around the outside with a pump to remove the water. one of my walls had a bow in it and they installed some straps to keep it from moving. they dug down 2 cracks on the outside and repaired them.
