Wilson Tree Service

Back in June, Wilson gave me an estimate to have two trees cut down. I called a few days later to agree to their offer and schedule a day to do it. Mr. Wilson said it would be a while since they were "so busy". Two months later I still had not heard from them. I called them to find out when I would be on the schedule. The person I spoke to said someone would call me back, but that never happened. It is now three months later and my two dead trees are still there. Mr. Wilson, if you are not going to do the work, THEN DON'T GIVE ESTIMATES!!! This has been a total waste of my time. Thanks for nothing.

After calling around and getting many unprofessional and overpriced estimates we decided to go with Wilson Tree service. Not only were they very professional but the price was the best quote we got. They met and beat all expectation with the service they provided. We had them back later on in the year for more work and again great service for a great price. I already have recommended Wilson's to a few friends but it was important to me to leave this review so that you can hire such a great company like we did.

After not hearing from him for two months, I called and left a message with his service requesting that he let me know when the work would be done. No response. Five days later I called again. No response. From reviews that I have read elsewhere, people either love the guy or loathe him. Apparently I have been relegated to the group of people whom Mr. Wilson just ignores when he can't fit their location into his schedule. UPDATE: I finally heard from Mr. Wilson. He was apologetic, said that the weather had set them back a lot, but they would be out in the next week. Bottom line, they arrived this morning and did a tremendous job. Impeccable cleanup. I'm very impressed. I would, of course, had been happier with more communication. I will be calling them again in winter to schedule more trim work in the spring.

Best priced estimate compared with other Angie's list tree removal companies. Prompt service and good clean up. Great service!

It is June 3, 2014. I have called them three times over the past 5 weeks. Just trying to get an idea of when the work can be done. They have not returned a single call. Have a landscaper waiting to do grading and sprinkler system once tree removal has been completed.

They were very good. They did a good job.

Great job, amazing price (3K less than quoted by Davey Tree and that was without stump grinding). We were scheduled for 3 weeks out from date of call, and with a minor delay (which is expected with the crazy weather) they gave us a 10 day window and called with 2 days notice to confirm. Large team that was very quick and efficient. They did a very thorough job with cleanup - not a stray twig to be found in the yard or on the street. The two trees that were trimmed look great. Will definitely use them again!

Wilson's was the best priced estimate of three 'A' rated tree service providers on Angie's List. The estimate was provided just a couple of days following my initial call. Less than two weeks after I accepted the quote/estimate, the work was performed professionally. Very happy with the overall experience.

They removed burned trees and ground stumps at a fair price. Kept area clean.

I have used Wilson's twice before and been very satisfied, so when I needed a tree removed I immediately called them. Bill promptly came out to give a quote which I accepted on the spot and asked him to put me on the schedule. He said it would be approximately three to four weeks. After about six weeks with no action, I called their live answering service and left a message inquiring about my status on the schedule. No response. After another several weeks I called again and left another message. Again no response nor did they ever come out to do the work. Given their generally very high marks on the List and my own past personal experience, this lack of responsiveness, especially for a repeat customer, is both surprising and very disappointing. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________ Feb 2014 update: The contracted job has been completed. Their previously demonstrated high quality standards were met again. Communication was excellent. We received multiple updates regarding their arrival. The tree was felled, all the wood hauled out of the backyard, and the area cleaned. It was all done efficiently despite heavy snow cover which complicated the whole process. Thank you Wilson's for coming through. Hopefully whatever issues were responsible for the delay have been resolved.

They came out to give us an estimate in early October and we spent about $999 with them do do the job for us. They trimmed 2 trees for us and cut down 2 pine trees. Price-wise, they are really competitive but the only thing I wasn't happy about was their lack of punctuality. Based on the quote they gave me they should have come out in late August but I had to cal them a couple of times and they ended up being a month and a half late. And even on the day of the service they were still about 5 hours late.The job was nicely done in spite of all that.

About two years ago I obtained an estimate from Mr. Wilson and finally decided I was ready to have the work done. I called his number about a month ago to inquire about this two year old estimage and Mr. Wilson said he would like to come out again and reasses the job. Two days later I found his new estimate dropped off in my mail box (he came out to look at the tree while I was at work). I called back a few days later to accept this new estimate. That was over two weeks ago. I have not heard back since. I did call back agin two more times to try and get some kind of response. He uses an answering service so you will always speak to a live person, which is nice, but I'd rather be talking to him instead of a middle person in this particular case. I have nothing to go on other than he has not called me back. I can't think of any excuse for ignoring a customer and can't help but think something weird is going on. Maybe the is having a health problem? Maybe his lawyer told him not to call back if for whatever reason he is not able to do the work he estimated? I have no idea what is going on. Regardless he should be taking care of his customers (or potential customers) and at least follow up to explain he is not able to do the work for whatever reason. Based on all the good reviews out their this guy has a sterling reputation and I don't enjoy tarnishing it but I think under the circumstances a negative review is appropriate.

Please update your Service Information, since it lists services that you no longer provide. Your answering service states that you are "only doing removals at this time" and I need trimming/limb removal, which they said was not of interest to Wilson Tree Service.

Punctual. Well trained work crew, worked as a team. Extremely careful to not crack concrete drive or parking pad, though using heavy equipment. Cleaned-up every wood chip before leaving.

Bill Wilson came on date I requested as available to me. All of the crew where exceptionally nice.

I had a very good experience. They showed up with about 10 guys, cut the trees, shredded them, ground the stumps, and cleaned up their mess in under 2 hours. They guys worked like hard and moved quickly. It tooks a few weeks to line them up since my yard was wet and I didn't want them back their with their equipment rutting up the yard, which they worked with me on. I knew it was a small job and I am glad they could squeeze me in, and do it for a good price too. Thanks.

I had 23 trees removed. Former resident planted treets on top of wires, cables. etc. Not to mention close to house and walk way. No problem what so ever for his men. They were fantastic!

He and his crew were tremendous. He was punctual and did a great job on this small job! I am really picky out what should be cut. They were very responsive, listened well and did a great job. All of my neighbors use him as well.

Excellent service. I was promised and estimate with in three days, which occurred. When I called back to accept the estimate I was told with huge storm that ripped through the area that it would be taken care of within 15 days. This was the average for all tree services around because of the storm. I explained to Bill that I was hoping he could get me in sooner as I was having an insurance adjuster come out to the home because of the storm and needed the tree off the house so they could look for damages. He said he could call me back in a day or so as he would look at his schedule and try to get me in asap since I have been a faithful customer. He called back with in the promised time and had my job done in a couple days. My experience with Wilson tree has always been prompt professional service.

He submitted a bid and promised that the work would be done within two weeks. It was not done for several more weeks.

After I made my initial call for an estimate I received the estimate right away. Accepted the estimate. Took about 3-4 weeks for the work to actually get done. (I was okay with that). I did call to check on the schedule tree removal date because I had not heard back since I accepted the quote. This would be the only thing I would say they should try to improve on. I am pretty easy going and did not have a timing issue. However if you need to meet a deadline or are impatient please make sure you communicate that with them otherwise you might be annoyed. Besides the scheduling they are very responsive.The person who ground the stump had to come on a different day due to mechanical issues (I was fine with that as well).Bill came out the morning of and looked at the area again. I was not home but called and gave me instructions on what I needed to have done (move cars, etc, etc). The area was clean and tidy after the tree cutting. Would not have known they were even there with the exception of the stump to alert you. Received a call when complete and Bill called that evening to confirm and let me know the stump grinding people would be out and on what date. .

They do an excellent job. Their price is outstanding; all the companies that I contacted quoted me $3,000 to 4,000. They come when they say they are coming and the do a follow up call.

It took over 3 weeks to finall get the company there to do the work. Many calls were made to them and were not returned. Also was charged extra above the estimate for cutting the limbs into 18 in. lengths and leaving them for firewood. He was told that we wanted this done before the estimate was done. Will not use this company again.
