Gorgeous, 30-foot, 4-trunk River Birch that was too close to house and costing $800.00 per year to trim away from my house and neighbor's house. Sadly, had to be removed (almost like losing a family member). They arrived right on time (had to reschedule once because of weather). I watched the entire process as they used a crane to lift out each trunk, carefully swing away from my house (and near-by neighbor's house) and feed it into the woodchipper (yes, visions of "FARGO" were dancing in my head). They also ground down the stumps and then cleaned up the yard and the street. This job was a little extra challenging because of proximity of the tree to underground cable and utility lines. Was totally impressed by the length to which they went in order to protect roadway, sidewalk and lawn (saturated from all the rains) from the heavy equipment that was required. Also impressed by their attention to worker safety. I was pleasantly surprised by the cost----my neighbor was amazed as he had estimated almost twice the amount. It took less time than I imagined to complete the service. No hesitation to hire again and to recommend them to others.

Can't trust them. Received their quote at the beginning of June 2018 for removing a tree on my poperty line. I explained that I had to arrange permission for access with the neighbor. In August I requested they do the work and they accepted but said they were scheduling in October and set the date for October 18, 2018. Two weeks before the work was to be done the requested rescheduling to November 3, which I agreed to. In the afternoon of October 30, 2018 I received a phone call in which they told me the looked at the tree on October 29 and now said the didn't have the equipment to remove it and were canceling the job. This has caused a major problem. They should not have agreed to do the work without confirming they could do it.

Richard's is the best tree service. They are punctual, efficient, and great to work with. They arrive when they say they will, whether it is for the estimate or actually doing the work. You can count on them being there. Most of the trees were in the back yard and had to be lifted by crane up and over the house - no problem. They also clean up the yard of the fallen twigs. I was just left with the wood chips from where the stumps were ground out. Richard, Zak, Stephanie and everyone on the crew does a fantastic job and they are all very nice. I have used their service before and would again if I need it. I highly recommend Richard's Tree and Crane Service.

They showed up on the scheduled day. They had a crane, bucket truck, dump truck and shredder. There were four workers who were very nice. They removed the big tree first then the medium size one and last the small one. They trimmed back a neighbors tree also. They arrived at 8:15am and were done at 3:00pm. They did a good job and cleaned up. It cost 3,000.00 before tax.

Went Great! Richard's came out and gave me an estimate. Once I accepted their estimate, they scheduled a time to come and remove the tree and to trim up an Oak tree that was getting too close to the house. They came when they said they would and did the job within a reasonable amount of time. Everything looks great! Total cost was $1331.25 with Tax.

We have dealt with Richards for more than 20 years. We have always been most pleased with all aspects of their work. The work has ranged from trimming trees to stump grinding to tree removal. We have never experienced any problems with any of their work. We find their pricing to be very attractive. Now, the second generation of the family is becoming involved in the business. The service remains excellent. We highly recommend them.

They did a great job. The work went smoothly and was interesting to watch how efficiently the machinery and the expert workers got the job done. They are a good team.

Great service and job execution. I called after hours and got a person who scheduled the estimator for the next morning. Because it was storm damage and threatened our shed, they completed the job the same day.

The job went very well. All work was done in 2-3 hours. The crew was courteous, congenial and hardworking. They were very efficient and worked well as a team. Their remote-control stump grinder and their crane were really something to watch in action. We were very happy with the work that was done and the care that was taken in doing it.

Arrived promptly, worked quickly and efficiently while also being willing to answer questions, cleaned up beautifully before they left, and were done even quicker than their estimate. We were very satisfied. (Provided exciting entertainment for our 8-year-old grandson as well!)

The tree grinding areas were not leveled off. Leaving dangerous holes in the ground. The holes needed to be filled in. The grinding could have been left more compact and localized instead of spread around the holes. The grinder blew the grinding dust off the street and onto my car, my house and my windows that had just been washed this month. Who is going to pay for this mess?! Richard's Tree Service gave me a ridiculous proposal to just remove the grindings let alone clean everything up that was covered with the grinding dust. This grinding dust was a thick cloud that was a danger to the environment and as well as my health. We have a serious problem here that needs to be cleaned up and rectified quickly.

The crew arrived and started work right on time and worked all day even through a steady rain in the afternoon. They were friendly and professional and did the job well. Unfortunately in getting their bucket truck around to the back yard they broke one of the electric wires attached to the outside wall but took care of it the following day at no cost to us.

Have used many other services in the past and this company is the best by far. They have all of the latest equipment and work absolute magic with the crane. Their climber has been at it for 25 years and it shows. He is amazing to watch. They did several extras for me at no charge. The yard and drive were spotless when the job was completed. You don't need to search any further, for tree removal. Richard will get the job done and be sure you are satisfied.

The crew arrived precisely at the scheduled time and got to work immediately. The guy in charge was really pleasant and respectful, and even gave us a few helpful suggestions on the care of our remaining trees. They removed three very tall trees up against our deck that had begun to rot (they were very careful not to cause any damage to our deck or house) and another tree further back on our lot. The guys ground down the stumps almost to the ground, cut up all the trees for firewood and cleaned up as best they could, considering that they had a very small space of backyard to work with. We will definitely hire them again in the near future to thin out some of our taller trees.

Crew arrived earlier than commitment. Did an excellent job of tree removal in an environment of utility lines, fences and landscaping. Tree pruning on the other trees was done well. Clean up was superior, including hopping the fence to make sure that any stray debris that made it into the neighbor's back yard was cleaned up as well. Crew was friendly and professional. I had two other quotes on the job and they were both 20% higher than what I paid. These are quality people doing quality work.

Richard's removed an approximate 40' tall/3' diameter at the base ash tree dying from ash borer infection. Also ground out the tree stump after taking down the tree. Cost was about what had expected, and a little better than one other estimate received. Very impressed with the efficiency of the removal. Richard's arrived with a crane, bucket truck, chipper and stump grinder - all "industrial strength". From start to finish only took about 90 minutes to get the tree down, stump ground out and debris cleaned up. It was a pleasure to watch the Richard's crew in action.

The estimate was well within my budget and a service date was promised for an afternoon a month later. Despite very snowy and cold weather in the interim, they arrived as promised and took down an 85 foot Ash tree from close quarters quickly, efficiently and neatly. They were pleasant and accommodating to my requests and traffic on my narrow street. I highly recommend these professionals.

They did a great job removing the tree. They also did a great job on the clean up. They were very professional. I talked to the owner. He was very helpful. He got us on a payment plan to Ohio Edison. They went about their business and it was done in about an hour.

Everything went well except it was raining that day so our yard got very torn up. There were pretty big trenches from the equipment that we had to till and replant grass. Overall a very good experience. The owner was very professional.

We had Richard’s Tree Service come out to remove 1 large maple and trim 1 large oak tree. They were very professional, efficient and they did such a wonderful job of cleaning up that we can barely tell that they were even there! They are very good to work with and I have to say that these guys rank at the very top of our list of recommended contractors. After they were at the house, we received a phone call about another tree that was damaged in a storm several years ago. This tree was not on the list to have taken care of, but Richard said that it really needed trimming and if we would want them to trim it while they were there. We took his advice and gave our approval. Really glad we did this, the tree looks great and seeing it trimmed made us realize how much it needed to be done. We will definitely recommend and have already decided to hire them next year to remove some dying ash trees.

It went great--they were right on time, only took 2 hours, 20 minutes. Courteous staff, and cleaned up the yard afterwards.

When he drove down the street with all of his equipment, I knew I had the right guy. He was absolutely superb. He showed up on time and was very professional. He had good pricing and stuck to the estimate that he gave me. He treated me with respect. He did an excellent job and I wished I could give him all A+'s.

Richard came to give an estimate and he was on time, professional and personable. When we signed with him to do trim our oak tree his office called when they were suppose to and performed the work on time. The workers Richard brought with him were very nice too. The guys were polite and did a great job trimming and clean up. Excellent company and will use them again in the future!
