They showed up on time and completed the work in a very professional manner. All appropriate precaution were taken to prevent the spread of the mold. They used tarps to protect my carpeting. The mold was uncovered by a home inspection as a result of my selling the house. Dutch's worked with both me and the new buyers to ensure the work was satisfactory for both of us. All in all, I would highly recommend their services.

Rick and his crew did a great job from start to finish! Rick even took the time to walk around the outside of my home looking for areas where I might have water intrusion. This was not a contracted service. I just asked him to put on his "home inspector" hat and he let me pick his brain about what needed to be fixed to stop the water intrusion. Rick certainly went the extra mile to not only make sure my mold problems were solved, but to also make sure the issues that caused them could be identified so I could get those fixed as well. Rick was kind enough to schedule me in within a few days of my initial call to come out and look at some mold in our basement. He quickly did a general scan of the area and gave a general description of where the mold was likely located. He then gave me a basic idea of what I would have to do to sanitize and mitigate the mold on my own. He very easily could have tried to take advantage of my concern, but was very informative and helpful. He was willing to provide a quote if I ran into something I wasn't comfortable doing, and I will definitely call them again if I have bigger issues in the future.

Rick came out to inspect our bathroom for mold issues. He was kind enough to squeeze us in at the end of the day after he had left his previous job. During his inspection he did an excellent job of explaining what he saw, and outlining a plan of action. I really appreciated the fact that he was honest in his assessment, and didn't recommend unecessary repairs (which he easily could have done). We would certainly use him in the future (but hope we don't have to!). There is a reason why he made the Angie's List Best Contractors, thanks again Rick!

He did the free inspection and gave us an action plan. We had a roofer put on a new roof five years prior. It was a long process. Our original roofer only wanted to charge us more money and put in a fan. Dutch’s Mold Inspection did a thorough job. He knew what he was doing.

Rick came over and inspected my basement. He didn't use any tools or anything, just pointed out the visible stuff. He told me I would be wise to get rid of as much cardboard and wood as possible, get a humidifier and keep the throw rugs rolled up. He showed me on the overhead floor joists where mold was growing and could be cleaned. He pointed out mold on some items in my basement. He didn't push me to hire his company to clean/remediate the mold but I asked him for a quote. The quote was in line with what I was expecting, so I hired him to come back the next week and do the work. In the meantime I followed his advice by getting rid of some furniture, some wooden pallets and all of my cardboard boxes. His team came a week later (I believe it is 3 folks including Rick) and set to work on the basement. I did not watch them work but afterwards Rick walked me through what they had done. All of the rafters were free of mold, everything had been vacuumed and all of the items in the basement wiped down. Even small items on shelves! They had sprayed something around the room to help kill mold. My house smelled funny for a few days. It only took the team about 3 hours and it cost a lot of money but I am relieved to have had it done. Now I know I am starting with a clean basement and can take steps to keep it mold-free going forward. If I knew anyone with mold issues in their homes - or even suspected mold issues - I would not hesitate to recommend Dutch's!

Rick came out to the house (about 50 miles from his home) to inspect it for mold. I was worried about two areas in particular, the laundry room and the master bath. He looked at those areas, but he also walked the entire basement and pointed out several things we should do to keep dampness away. He also pointed out patches of mold on some leather items in the basement. We didn't even know that was mold! He checked the other rooms in the house, too, and asked questions about moisture, habits, etc. He used a sophisticated handheld machine as well as just a paper towel to check for dampness on the foundation and a kleenex to check the strength of the bathroom fan. I was very impressed with the recs I had read on Angie's list, and I was so happy he came way out to our house. He sent a written 'finding and recommendation' report later that evening. I would have hired him in a minute to 'fix' our problems, but they are too small for his company. He provided us with a couple of names of people he recommends. It was the best $150 we've spent!

Rick and two helpers arrived on time at 8:30 am. They got right to work laying down tarps to protect the rest of the floor while they came and went from the basement. The contract called for them to: Hepa vacuum and sanitize the area, as well as to biowipe the stairwell and the contents of the basement. (That's the abbreviated version.) Thank goodness everything was (mostly) arranged on shelves. They also used some fancy looking fan-type things to clean the air during the whole process. I didn't get to quite everything on my 'should-be-done-before-they-get-here list' but they neatly stacked my hanging laundry (a no-no in a wet basement) without complaint. They were done within a few hours and Rick walked my husband and me through the basement to show us the work and give us suggestions on how to stay on top of the basement (pardon the pun). He suggested that we keep the dehumidifier going as well as using a small fan to circulate the air. They scrubbed and vacuumed the floor joists to improve the appearance. As a result, they found a bunch of sawdust that was left behind from previous contractors. The next morning, I found some of the aforementioned sawdust inside the washing machine. One call to Rick to ask about it, and two of his guys were here within an hour with a vacuum, wipes and a profuse apology. They cleaned more than I expected and left everything in good shape. I have a lot of respect for this company and would recommend them to anyone.

The work, from inspection through completion, was excellent. First, the room was tested for mold and humidity. Using a sensitive meter, there was obviously a much higher level of humidity near the floor than elsewhere, indicating the likely presence of mold. After further inspection and testing, it was decided that the flooring needed to be removed and the area below the floor treated for mold. The job was done to our complete satisfaction. No dust was left anywhere, and no dust was spread anywhere else in the house. Furniture was moved carefully. The job was apparently wffective. There is no residue of mold that we can detect.

I think things went well, Rick inspected my concerns, explained alot, was patient and am happy I chose this Company.

They were just fantastic! Rick was incredibly knowledgeable, thorough, and easy to work with. He has several certifications, and he clearly knew much more than other contractors we contacted. He and his crew cleaned up incredibly well. They were so helpful and courteous! I think their price was reasonable, and I give Dutch’s my highest recommendation.

He was very professional. He came out of his way to come to our house and spent about half an hour with us answering questions and giving us advice.

The project went as planned on time and on budget Our project was composed of four stages: 1. Remove stored items from attic and place in garage for our sort. 2. Perform mold remediation that include a final complete paint spraying of all surfaces with light tan paint. 3. Add nine inches of fiber glass insulation to entire attic area and add an insulated cover to the attic access door. 4. Remove soffit on front of house, unclog baffles to allow improved attic ventilation and help eliminate ice damming and replace with a new high ventilation soffit. Rich arrived with two helpers. They placed carpet protection down and ran special air filters to limit air born dust and mold. The job took two days and they cleaned everything up and the end of day one and then did a final cleanup and vacuum at the end of the project. Everyone was professional, polite and worked hard. We would hire them again.

Rick was wonderful. He arrived on time, was pleasant and super helpful. He did not charge us for the mold inspection because we found him on Angie's List. He spent a few minutes checking our basement and then spent time talking with us about what we can do to prevent/eliminate the mold. He gave lots of useful tips and was very detailed for us. He told us how to clean it up (we didn't have much) and what to eliminate from the basement to avoid issues in the future. I would recommend him to EVERYONE! He is wonderful!

Home inspection of foreclosed property revealed mold. Mold testing revealed severe mold problem from attic crawl spaces to basement. I sought three estimates before close to negotiate lower price with bank. Rick was the first one to inspect. He was on time, professional, took meticulas notes, measurements and was very informative, answering my many questions with patience. After our experience with other providers (see below) the obvious decision was to go with Rick's company. One company came out to inspect project and never submitted a bid even after repeated calls and emails. Second company did cursory inspection then submitted only a verbal estimate and then only after many phone calls (after three weeks) and estimate was significantly higher than Dutch and too late to be used in negotiations with bank. Rick advised us to complete all construction projects that require demolition, sanding, scraping, everything until painting at which time he will revisit our home and bio wipe and seal every surface including closets, shelves, ceilings, walls, etc. He says my home will never again be this clean. I can hardly wait. This kind of project involves health issues and is expensive so you want it done right. I have a friend who had several bad experiences with mold remediation and says I was lucky to find some I trust. I recommend Dutch's Mold Remediation without reservation.

We recently had work completed by Rick Nesselhauf of Dutch's Mold Inspections. Within 2 days of my initial call to him he contacted me. Within approx. 3 weeks from date of contact the job was done. I trusted him right away because he didn't try to sell us services that he felt we didn't need. After meeting with him the first time I decided not to get more estimates. He was the only person I contacted and I know I made the right decision. He took great care with my possessions in the basement and clean-up was so good you never knew that workers were there. I called for information and possibly to set up an appointment. I received a quick call back. We had a good conversation in which he asked me specific questions regarding our situation and the problems we're having. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and helpful. He offered many self help suggestions for us to try before having him out to look. I appreciated his honesty. It would have been very easy to take advantage of my lack of knowledge, but he didn't. I will be recommending this company to anyone I know that needs this type of service.

We had experienced some dampness in our basement, and I had cleaned some mold off one of the walls. Rick responded promptly to my phone call and stopped by for the estimate within a couple of days. (He had his three dogs, all rescues, in the truck with him, which was a positive sign for me.) During the walk-through Rick pointed out some signs of incipient mold that I would not have known about. We use our basement primarily for storage, and Rick suggested some preparatory steps I could take, to give his crew access to all the walls and ceilings, that would reduce the amount of time they would need to be in the house and, thus, keep the job affordable. The actual remediation work went more quickly (about five hours start to finish) than Rick had originally estimated. Our basement is unfinished, so they sprayed all the ceilings/joists and walls and wiped down some furniture that we had down there. He also recommended some products to use for ongoing mold prevention and made suggestions for improving air flow in the basement and improving our storage procedures to reduce the likelihood of mold growth. When they were done, the entire basement smelled very fresh and looked much cleaner. I consider it money well spent, and I appreciate Rick's efforts to keep the cost reasonable.

They arrived on time and prepared to fit in the small access space to the attic. They did all the work efficiently and cleaned up afterward. Rick asked if I'd like to see the work in the attic before he placed the board back on the access space and he explained what was done (before and after the process). He was also able to schedule me within a week of when he gave me the estimate which was very important as we needed the work done asap to lift the contingency for selling the house. Thanks!

This is one of the few home inspection companies in NE Ohio that can do both a complete home inspection AND a complete mold inspection. They also do mold remediation so they will not only tell you if mold is present, but how bad it is and what you need to do to get rid of it . I knew ahead of time that the basement in the home previously had a moisture problem so I wanted a dual inspection to determine if mold was present and to what extent. The inspection was thorough and the inspector pointed out several minor things that I could fix myself (gutters and downspouts that were clogged, windows needing caulking) as well as major issues that would need professional repair (dry rot, water damage, a huge bees nest in the attic). He also found mold in several places and explained how to combat the situation in the future. I was very glad to have such a thorough mold inspection done. Many home inspectors are not trained as thoroughly in this specialty. The price I paid was at a discount because I ordered both inspections to be performed at the same time ? and really, the price I paid for both is comparable to what some inspectors charge for just a routine basic inspection. Over all they did a good job and I would recommend their combo inspection to everyone.

Rick Nesselhauf and his team provided timely, thorough, and professional mold cleanup of our just-purchased home. The cost was considerable, but they did a lot of work and their price was competitive with other providers. We highly recommend his company for such services. Also, while we did not hire Rick to do a general home inspection, toward the end of the work, he was also very generous with his time and equipment in helping my wife and me identify other potential water leakage and other issues in our new home. From that experience, we could tell that Rick's firm is also an excellent choice for home inspection.

I placed a call to Dutch's and received an immediate call back. I set up and appt and received a thorough explanation of what would be done. They came out on the day stated and finished the job neatly and clean. I added a job for rebuilding of the basement bathroom as stated above. I was pleased with the room except for the mudding of seams. The house smelled great afterwards and it's amazing that all the smells of an older home can be totally diminished after being sanitized, which was part of the procedure of the mold removal. This was great as it is a 55 year old home. The workers were respectful and the work was done in a reasonable amount of time.
