Carpet came in on schedule. Installer (Andrew) was very meticulous throughout the installation. The carpet had a pattern and he did a great job of matching it up. Cleaned up everything before leaving.
Description of Work: Carpeted almost entire house with Smart technology carpet. The installers were great guys and Terry the owner was very informative and very easy to work with will definitely go see when we are ready to do our floors!

We got a great quality carpet and kitchen flooring for a good price and the installers were very good at what they do. They made sure that the floor was evened out underneath and were professional and quick in their installation. Months later, we are very pleased with everything and we have had no issues. Unlike other installers we have had for carpet, they were very careful about the woodwork and nothing was damaged. The kitchen floor also looks great....no visible seams, great quality for the price. We would highly recommend this carpet supplier and their installers.

Floors 2u is an easy place to look around and ask questions. The wood boards I chose had more rounded edges instead of the sharp edges I had looked at elsewhere. The owner came out and measured and explained everything. He uses subs but the subs were great. The quarter rounds didn't come with the flooring so we drove over to a big box store and picked some out. The sub even suggested the ones around the island match the honey tone wood of the cabinets, and the rounds around the rest of the kitchen with cream cabinets blend in to the grain of the floor. Came out great. They showed up on time and did a great job - no mess. The people are great. The owner gets busy so you may have to call him back on initial requests up but once it get going everything falls in place.
Description of Work: Installed engineered wood floor in new kitchen. Mannington Herrington Oak 120 sq ft. The old floor and subfloor were removed. They installed a layer of luan, prepared the sub floor and installed the wood. The installation included the floor, 2 steps, stairnoses,a reducer, transitions and quarter rounds.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company! I had a vinyl flooring laid in the kitchen and bathroom of our house. The floors were originally laid on July 19, 2010. The guys (Jerry and Brian) were suppose to come around 12:00 but finally arrived at 3:30. They worked and finished the job around 10:00pm. The next day when looking at the kitchen floor I noticed 5 saucer size bubbles in the floor. I called the company and was told that they would put a little pin hole in it to let off the gas. The owner explained that the adhesive was still giving off gas when the floor was placed on top. The technicians contacted me and we agreed that they would come on Thursday because I was not going to be home on Wednesday evening. They arrived unannounced at around 8:30pm on Wednesday as my husband was putting our son to bed and did not put small pin p***** in the floor. Instead they put 6-12” slices in the floor and stuck adhesive under it. So now I had long slits in the floor that I could put my nail under because they were not sealed. Additionally, as the kitchen floor settled in you could see lumps, lines, and craters in it. As they were laying the floor I saw what I thought was a hole and pointed it out to the men and they said it was just a rip in the backing. That rip resulted in an indent when the floor was finished, they should have known that would happen since they have laid a lot of floors. The bathroom floor was also a mess. That room had a vinyl floor under the new floor and the squares from the original floor were showing through the new floor as it was not skim coated. So I had 2 floors that looked as if I had done the job myself rather than hiring a professional company. I had Terry the owner of Floors 2 U out and he looked at the floor and said this is not their best work they would replace it. I thought that was a great response and I was happy with it. After 3 weeks I called to check on the progress of the floor and was told it was on order but that Terry wanted to have a sit down to discuss the floor as the guys told him the tile should have been removed before the laying of the new floor. He set the date for 9/4/10 and forgot to come. He came by the following week to take a final look and told me they would remove the original tile floor before relaying the vinyl. The same guys (Jerry and Brian) were to come on 9/15 around 12:00. When they had not come by 4:00 I called the company and was told they would come the next day. At this point I said I had to be the first person in the day because they do not come later. I also told Terry that I didn't want Jerry back at all but he wanted them to fix their mistakes. So they were scheduled to come around 10:00 the following day and arrived at 11:30. Jerry was MAD that they had to redo the job griping in a loud voice what a waste of time it was. Jerry would not speak to me and acted like he could not hear me when I asked them to hang plastic in the door ways to keep the dust in. So I repeated myself thinking he might not have heard me at which time he snapped - in a while when I gets to it. He then said they had no plastic and that Terry did not tell them they needed to hang it. Professional contractors know when to hang plastic and how. Eventually some plastic was discovered about an hour after they started by this time the dust was all over. They hung the plastic by 2 masking tape pieces and let it blow all over so it didn't do any good anyway. I had dust in the upstairs hallway and throughout the main floor. Next they called me up and asked what I was going to do with the debris. They didn't have any contractor bags to clean up. So they filled up my trash cans to the top and left a huge pile in the backyard where they threw it out the window. My husband had to clean it up. A professional cleans up after himself! While they were banging with a sledge hammer on the floor to break it up the plaster started falling off the basement ceiling. It went on for a little while but after there were several spots I went up and told them that the plaster was falling off. Brian said that wasn't good and looked to Jerry asking if he heard me; he was still not talking to me. His response to Brian was that maybe I needed to get in there and do the F-ing floor and he is ready to walk off the f-ing job. Once again completely unprofessional not to mention juvenile! I did not respond though because there was broken tile all over and I didn't want this idiot to walk off the job and leave it. So I walked away. The following day they came back and laid the sub-floor and the floor. This time it is much better. There is still 2 lines where the sub-floor meets and the sub-floor is creaking. I hope that doesn't mean that the lines will get worse or the floor will crack or rip. To continue with his juvenile behavior Jerry told Brian not to give me a copy of the paper I had to sign saying the work was finished. I have no idea why he did not want me to have one of the copies of the 2 ply form. It makes me suspicious that he was trying to hide something. Jerry told my husband and myself that the floor was misquoted since the tile should have been removed. That would have been a better argument had the bathroom floor turned out well. That floor was not over ceramic tile so there was no excuse for it to look so badly. I believe the kitchen floor was a mess because they put the skim coat and then the adhesive shortly followed by the floor. The various substances didn't have enough time to dry since they started so late. They balled up causing lumps and pulled out of the grout causing the lines. The bathroom floor was not skim coated and they did not put on the threshold to finish it. It was just poor workmanship and completely unprofessional behavior! Although I thought it was good that Terry was willing to have the floor redone I think it was poor planning to send the same people and if he did he should have popped in a few times to ensure everything was going well. Although these are contractors they reflect on Floors 2 U and should not be used or be called on the carpet for unprofessional behavior! Now I have to have my basement ceiling repaired and will spend the next week cleaning as the dust is coating the walls, floors, and all surfaces.
