In the midst of the Covid19 Epidemic the owner of this company, Larry Macovitz, made an offer to his long-time friend, who is a Union Member & was considered his Brother, to take over his business, which is plumbing services & a plumbing supply store in a new bldg and location, by buying it over a course of so many years, in payment's etc.. Since August 2020, this friend was told to go ahead and give up his employment at that time making $45hr, to start renovating & moving the old store to the new store location and he would assist him all along the way.. Also, there was a 3rd person involved in this transition which is myself.. I have been dating his friend and being unemployed due to the Covid19 I was able to spend 90% of my time helping in this transition.. It was "verbally" agreed that my boyfriend and the owner himself will be doing the plumbing calls as well as working on the new store and that all the jobs would be split in half between the two of them until the store was up and running smoothly, which included myself running the store and all other office aspects such as, sales, bookwork, payroll, etc.. When asked about a written contract on 2 separate occasions, the owner stated that "his Attorney was drawing one up" and "his Attorney has to re-write the contract due to some discrepancies".. "WARNING".. The current owner of this company is a cheap, self centered, lying, crook!! Not only had he instructed the friend to use, used parts charging "new part fees" but has NOT kept his word on any of this agreement! Just 3 days before Christmas, expecting to receive (as agreed) his wkly pay at $900-plus half of the $5000- (and an $8,000 job done & completed by my boyfriend "with just 2 hrs help from the owner" back in November & has not yet billed the customer, so he claims?) and a Christmas Bonus.... Only received $1,600??? THAT IS RAPE!!! My boyfriend & myself, have done ALL of the work.. From the service calls, to the new store renovations & the packing & moving the old supply store to the new store all these months.. The owner has all along continued to act as the owner, the boss, the decision maker, etc., and is never around... Even after saying that it was no longer going to be his and that his friend should do everything his way, he HAS NOT allowed him to make the decisions in this transition nor, has he put more than maybe 10hrs of his own time and effort into assisting him on the service jobs or the renovation of the new store!! As I said, I've been right by my boyfriend's side daily in this transition putting in my time, sweat & tears to help him create his dream and I've witnessed with my own eyes & ears the deceit, the lies and the betrayal & the fraud!! My boyfriend, from day 1 has dedicated himself both physically & mentally 6-7 days & nights per week, with hopes of opening this new store & starting this new chapter.. wanting to better his and his daughter's future, to live his dream of running his own "honest family owned" business.. But, to his Exhaustion, He Has been "Betrayed!" We are Devistated!! We've been used! We've been had!! The current owner, "The Crook" had no intention on transferring this company to my boyfriend.. Started calling him 1st week in April 2016. Never started the job until well into June. Bid 85.00 per hr plus materials. Charged a lot more. We ended up paying this guy 14k (he wanted nearly 18k, we owed him abt 10k total legitimately if all the work had been done correctly. It wasnt) just to get him out of our lives. He work was awful. We asked for all the tpilet tanks to be rebuilt entirely. He charged us abt 400.00 each, but only replaced some of the parts. Had a water bill for 450.00 AFTER he fixed one of the toilets. Tonight another tpilet he "fixed" flooded 3 stories of floors and water damaged ceilings. His worker threw tile dust and debris down our toilet. They took out a corner cabinet to repair a line and left the cabinet in the middle of the kitchen floor, but reattached the gas line si we had to call another plumber to put that back together. They broke a water line when removing a sink and didnt fix it and it leaked right over an electrical line in the basement. Replaced the wrong bleeder valves on radiators and flooded the house bc the one that was broken wasnt fixed (we have had 3 major floods bc of this guys bad work!). Charged us over 200.00 to caulk a tub (bid was 85.00 per hr plus materials). Billed 10.5 hrs to brak up a slate rinse tub (takes 1 guy w a sledge hammer less than 15 min), take it outside and put in a cheap 2 bay plastic rinse tub that isnt even bolted to the floor or wall (charged us over 500.00 for the rinse tub that is a cheapy). Ten when he over billed us, we asked him 2x to pls revisit the statement and bill us as he bid the job. Instead of doing that, he put a lien on our house (without going thru the proper notification process). Then he told ppl we couldnt afford to pay him (having the money wasnt an issue - we didnt want to pay for work he didnt do and work that wasnt done right, and we wanted to pay what he bid, not random made up numbers) We filed against him. We had paid him 10,600.00 already. He wanted another 7k. We ended up agreeing to pay half of that to cut our losses and get him out of our lives. But tonight, the 3rd flood happened, and i am so sick of the problems this person has caused, his aggressive, bullying behavior and his crappy work, that i am writing this review. NO ONE should have to go thru this. Not the emotional mess, not the financial mess and not headaches. If just one person doesnt have to endure what we have for the last year and a half, the time i spent writing this review was worth it. Bottom line: he and his workers dont do good work, he is aggressive, he pads his bills, and he doesnt stand behind his work. This isnt revenge. If it were, id have done this a year ago, or even after the court mediation. This is being fed up, after 3 major floods, and deciding a factual review might save some other family from the nightmare we experienced. For the record, everything i have written has documentation, including photos. Do your due diligence. Google contractors by company name and owners name. Had we done this, this man would not have worked on any of our houses.

He replaced the faucet, left the area clean.

He is a thorough plumber and we have used him earlier. He is very prompt and leaves the area clean.

I scheduled small plumbing job 8/22/2012 to fix some faucets and they never showed up or called for 3 hrs. When I called after having to go to work, they said they had an emergency repair and they'd send a guy right away, but told them I'm on way to work. They were apologetic and said if they could make another appt. I made appt. for 8/29/2012 by 9:30am so I can go to work by 11:30am. They never called or showed up a second time either. When I again called having to go to work, I got an answering service and gave them message that they didn't show up for second time and tell the owner I was going to comment on my experience on the internet. The owner called back a hour later and started complaining to me about me making internet comments and that I had an attitude with the answering service ( I never yelled or used any profanity). I finally just hung up on him.

The part was like $5.00. They charged me a lot more than that to fix it. Water was running, and it was leaking. I didn't really have much of a choice. I was not happy at all. Had I'd known how to fix it, I would have taken my less than 10 minutes, and it would have cost me $5.00.
