+ -1 moreThings started off well. He expressed that he was extremely busy and had a lot of projects going on but was very kind. However, I don’t think that he ever showed up on time and actually didn’t show at all a couple of times. The window overall looks ok. The window trim isn’t quite right and the drywall seams aren’t very good. My biggest complaint is that he messed up the ceiling when doing the wall repair and assured us he would fix it and now won’t return any calls. We planned on having him do our entire kitchen and definitely glad we dodged that bullet and got screwed on a smaller project instead of a big one.
Description of Work: Window enlargement and drywall repair.

Description of Work: Michael installed an access panel into our attic so that our air conditioning unit could be serviced. He also changed the vent for the clothes dryer to exhaust outside instead of into the garage.

+ 3 moreFrom the minute Michael came to look at the work we wanted done, he felt like family. He was prompt, courteous, knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. We are new to the area, so it was a great help that he gave us ideas of where to buy certain products and gave us fantastic referrals to local suppliers. There were several times that a question arose regarding the work to be done, and he never hesitated to help. Michael showed up exactly when he said he would be here to start the job, was on time every day, and actually finished ahead of schedule. All of the work Michael did was meticulous and we are extremely pleased with the outcome. Along with his strong work ethic, he is one of the nicest people my family has had the pleasure of meeting, and we will definitely be using his services again in the near future.
Description of Work: Installed a whole wall of new cabinets (to match the existing), a new granite countertop, and a new electrical outlet in the kitchen. Framed in a door that was not in use and installed new siding over it. Installed a new hand rail on the front porch steps and in the garage. Framed in and installed a new screen door on the front of the house.

They were here about 16 days always on time at 9:00, very professional, pleasant, and always left my house cleaner than when they arrived. The bathroom turned out just gorgeous! If Michael and Steve don't become too popular from this website I hope to hire them again for future projects!

+ -1 moreOn 4/7/14 MES Home improvement confirmed the evening of 4/8 to come to my house to go over what I needed done, mostly with the bathroom.M E S contacted me on 4/8 and canceled. Said they would call back to reschedule.I did not hear back until 4/14. MES ask me if the week of 4/7 or 4/14 would be ok. I told him the week of 4/7. Why would they ask then cancel anyway. I told him I want to put my house up for sale asap. I had to hire someone else.

+ 10 moreMike and helper (Steve) worked for 13 days to complete this project. I am very happy with the results. I ordered this bath remodel through Clinten Kellar from Carter Lumber in Cortland. Clinten Kellar assisted with the selection of the items for the bath remodel. He did a very good job. Very informative of what all was needed and what it would look like after installed. I definitely will look to Carter Lumber for my next remodel job
Description of Work: Removed cabinets, sink, bath tub, commode from bathroom. Removed all drywall and plaster from walls. Removed flooring. Installed proper backing on subfloor to have it ready for tile. Installed drywall and cement board to walls. Removed window and installed a glass block window in the shower area. Installed new tub. Install ceramic tile on floor. Did all electrical work to be ready for medicine cabinet lights and exhaust fan. Install exhaust fan. Complete all plumbing for tub and shower. Install ceramic tile in shower and bath. Install cabinet and vanity with sink including plumbing. Plaster and ready walls and ceiling for painting. Paint ceiling and walls Install commode. Install shower doors Install towel holder and toilet paper holder Cleaned up after every day's work. Very neat.

+ 5 moreMike and helper removed cabinets and the flooring down to sub floor and installed new cabinets, tile back splash and hard wood flooring. They were very professional and knowledgeable of handling this project. The granite counter tops were installed by another company through them. I bought the appliances and Mike installed them. Mike fixed plaster, installed new trim and painted to complete this project. Mike built a 40 foot by 13 foot pergola over the patio. Mike plastered, installed hardwood floor, painted the ceilings and walls, and finished by installing new trim in living room and hall. Yes, I would use Mike ( M. E. S.) again. He is very dependable, professional, knowledgeable, thorough and neat.

I would highly recommend him to anyone. He cleaned up afterwards as well. He ordered the cabinets through another company, and with the counter-tops and everything, I think the pricing was reasonable. He was here like "Johnny on the Spot". I would definitely use him again if needed.
Description of Work: We used M.E.S. Home Improvement in October. He did a complete kitchen remodel. He added a wall, installed a sink and garbage disposal, over the stove microwave, dishwasher. He basically re-did my whole kitchen.

+ -1 moreThis project went a lot smoother than I expected. Arrived on time everyday and worked until at least 5pm everyday and sometimes later. He is very maticulous about his work and wouldn't go onto the next step until he was sure we were satisfied with what had already been done. I had heard stories of people having kitchen remodels that took months to finish and I was thinking the worst when we went into this project. Like I stated above the whole thing took approximantly 3 weeks to complete.
Description of Work: We called MES to give us an estimate for a complete kitchen remodel, adding a wall and additional cabinets. He works in part with a local lumber (Carter) company, so that company did the design work. Mike (the owner ) of MES was punctual on coming out to do the measurements and talking to us about ideas for the wall addition. He then took this to Clint Kellar at Carter Lumber in Cortland, and he did the design work, which was done in less than 2 days. After making some adjustments we went with a design that would work best for us. Our schedule start date was Sept 10,but as the cabinets weren't scheduled to arrive until the 19th and I didn't want an unuseable kitchen any longer than necessary we bumped the start date to the 19. Mike arrived on the 19th at 9 am, and immediately started working on tearing out the old cabinets and started building the new wall. The cabinets arrived that afternoon, on schedule. With all the work that needed to be done on the wall the cabinets didn't start to be installed until the following day. Mike cleaned up after himself everyday making sure there wasn't any sawdust unswept or unused materials left out. The work was completed on time, his actual time here was 11 days, which, with all that he had to do, I think was amazing. The only days he wasn't here (other than weekends) was the days we had to wait for the countertop to be made.
