Good equipment and hard working crew but do not recommend due to: !) Poor scheduling and communication leaves customer wondering for days when they will show up. 2) Poor quality control of asphalt or application lead to a VERY rough finish coat. 3) The owner indicated he was "disappointed" with the surface and sent a crew to apply standard sealer that did little to resolve the problem. The owner has not responded to multiple emails and phone calls requesting further action.

Prepped and put base coat in Sept. 2020. Recommend letting settle and would return in 2021 with topcoat. May of 2021 no communication. Called in late June and had me tentatively scheduled for one week July. No show, no contact. I kept calling and they said I was not scheduled, but "on the list". Called more many times, was tentatively scheduled for one week in August. No show. No contact. I kept calling more times through Sept. and October, still "on the list". Weather turning bad. Called late October and wanted to have Doug call me. Finally the secretary called me Nov. 4th and said they would come the next day. They did and completed the top coat. After 6 months of waiting I figured they might have been able to take one day and finish my drive. Had we not have had a few nice days I would be waiting into 2022.

GAR Paving is an untrustworthy business that presents a fraudulent contract to customers. I spent over $10,000 on a driveway, and after one year, massive cracks are appearing. The company chose to raise the edge of my driveway by over 6 inches with no explanation offered as to why that was done, and then proceeded to tell me it was my responsibility to backfill the area. This was NOT stated in the original contract that I signed. In response to this, they said it was standard procedure, and that I should know that already. They are not going to repair this shoddy work, and they are extremely rude and uncooperative whenever I have tried to call to reach a solution. They did come out to look at the cracks once I complained several times, and they originally stated they would backfill it at their own loss. After weeks of waiting for them to come and do this, I called once again, and was told that they would only fill the cracks. They are all extremely dishonest and unreliable.

GAR/Doug did an excellent job. We had a hard time deciding on the new design and Doug gave better recommendations than a professional (and expensive) designer. Doug and his crew were professional, did high quality work, and completed our big job in 2-3 days. Doug also used a unique limestone that hardens like concrete but at half the cost. Our neighbors and landscaper were very complimentary on our new driveway. Cheers to GAR!

We live on a very trick lot from a water runoff perspective, our house sits below the road. Our builder did a poor job of properly grading the drive originally and used stone not meant for drives. Doug and his crew regraded the entire drive, which included removing at least 3 dump trucks of gravel, and put down new crushed 57 limestone. They place an 8" culvert pipe and regraded part of the yard to get the water to run away from the culvert, and drive (we don't have a ditch on our side of the street per se). They also put in a catch basin below further down the drive in front of the house and side walk to take water away from the house. Finally and obviously they paved the drive. I have absolutely no concerns about water anymore because I know all the work they did will take the water away from our house. We weren't in a rush, but it did take some time between signing the contract and having the work done (just less than 3 months). Again not a big deal but it was hard to understand when the work would happen. When its all said and done I would absolutely use them again. They did a fantastic job, and Doug and his crew is extremely meticulous.

Unfortunately, they came out once to measure and never returned. I stopped by the shop 2 times and was promised service that day. so far, no one has come or called. They may be great on the job but I have not had the opportunity to see their work in MY yard. Other places they did and we observed looked good. Maybe our job was too small so they should have just said that! I hope they see this and contact us.

They installed the driveway and after the first winter I noticed a small crack in the driveway. So I contacted the company to look at the crack and they came out, but never notified us that they came out. When we called them back they told us that they were going to come back our and repair the crack. Then after that they reversed there decision to come out and repair the crack because they felt it was too small, but they never notified us about the decision change. After the next winter we noticed that there were 4 larger cracks. So we contacted the company again and didn?t notify us that they were at our residence. We contacted them again to follow up and they said they did come out and advised us to caulk the driveway that the concrete was just settling. They gave us a name of a Company that specializes in fixing concrete and that was all that they offered to do for us. I am disappointed that when they showed up the two times to look at the cracks they didn?t notify us to look at it together. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they didn?t want to corporate to resolve the issue. They were very condescending with there response to the report through the BBB.
