+ -1 moreThey were responsive, prompt and courteous. There were 2 leaks in my refrigerator, one which I had attempted to repair with a hose splicer a few months ago, plus a more involved leak in the water inlet valve. I was very pleased with the work.

+ -1 moreThere was a secondary problem so the machine continued to leak. They came back to my home, examined the machine again and determined that the problem was so severe that I'll need to replace the machine so my money will be refunded except for the $50 service call charge. While the washer was not repaired, they are a pleasure to work with and I felt the outcome very fair. They repaired my dryer about 2 years ago and that only cost $30!! Very positive experience!
Description of Work: A Ameri-tech replaced a leaking seal on my washing machine. However, there was a secondary problem so the machine continued to leak. They came back to my home, examined the machine again and determined that the problem was so severe that I'll need to replace the machine so my money will be refunded except for the $50 service call charge. While the washer was not repaired, they are a pleasure to work with and I felt the outcome very fair. They repaired my dryer about 2 years ago and that only cost $30!!

+ -1 moreI will not be dealing with these people in the future Note- I subsequently purchased the 2 switches (for $9.95 each) and snapped them in myself in about 10 minutes (I'm an amature). Savings = about $155.
Description of Work: Called in morning and arrived about 5:30. Young man,(Steve) and very polite. Light in my Subzero not working when door opens and the small button switch was defective (as I pretty much had concluded already). I thought I'd give these people a try, since they advertised "free service call with repair".How could I loose? Though I don't consider myself a handyman, I'm sure I could replace this switch in about 15 minutes. Actually, there are 2 switches, side by side and identical. He suggested I replace them both, as they both last about the same time. He then quoted me a total price of about $175. He stated the breakdown was was about 50% labor and 50% parts. That means about $40.+ for each switch and around $80. labor. As this seemed grossly excessive to me I declined the service, but had to pay the service charge ($49.50) -I was O.K. with that. I subsequently called a local parts store (Complete Appliance), where I could buy these switches for $9.95 EACH (retail). I will be installing these switches myself tomorrow. I now understand how they can waive the service charge, as long as they can sell the part and charge their labor rate.

+ -1 moreFlushed mounted oven pulled out of cabinets. First repairman couldn't get it back into place. Called for help (Mike) Was told my cabinets were cheap and they couldn't get the oven back into position. If I didn't like it he (Mike) said that he would be willing to leave with oven not secured to wall.Because of this repair is the reason why I joined Angie's List. I do not want this to happen again.
Description of Work: Wall oven touch panel needed to be replaced.

+ -1 moreWe had used this service provider before, and so when the dryer wouldn't start, we called them. We reached them on Saturday morning, and the technician came out the same day. He said that it needed a new circuit board, and that it would take a day or two to order it in. We thought about it, since the dryer is ten years old, and then decided to have it repaired. We called on Monday to ask them to order the part. They did not call back, or return our calls, that entire week. We finally reached them the next Monday, and the technician came out and replaced the circuit board. When I used the dryer later that day, it seemed to be noisier than usual. When I looked behind the dryer, the exhaust hose was completely detached. My husband managed to pull out the dryer, and reattach the hose with duct tape. The first time we used this company, they were prompt and the service was performed without problems. This time, they took a week instead of a few days to get back to us; they did not return our calls; and the repair was not completed correctly.
Description of Work: Our dryer wasn't working. The service person said that it was the circuit board. He ordered it and replaced it.

+ -1 moreOur dryer stopped working (no heat). We called A Ameri-tech on Monday afternoon, received a call back in the early evening, and made an appointment for the next afternoon. The technician arrived precisely on time, and it took him only a few minutes to figure out what was wrong. He didn't have the part, but returned the next day and completed the repair. We were impressed with his punctuality, expertise and the speed with which he repaired our dryer.
Description of Work: Replacement of relay switch in gas dryer.

Description of Work: My Washer had been making a grinding noise and stopped washing in the middle of the cycle leaving the water still in the washer. Of course everyones fear is getting a repair man in to diagnose the situation. Called A Ameri-Tech Appliance and they came out the very next day as they said. A gentleman showed up and was respectful and quietly checked out the problem! In no time I was washing my clothes again! I had been doing them by hand the days before!!! + -1 moreI called to schedule an appointment for service on the washer we use in the Greyhound Adoption of Ohio kennel. The owner asked me some questions, to troubleshoot the problem. when I said "nothing happens" when I turn the washer on, he told me to take a hair dryer out and plug it in to be sure the problem was with the washer. It turned out that the washer is fine. It's the outlet that doesn't work. He saved us the cost of a service call. We happen to have an electrician who is a volunteer for us, so we saved the cost of a house call! Very nice!

He did it quickly and also cleaned up after himself. Everything was done perfectly. I liked him. We didn’t spend anything as the dryer was still under warranty. There was no charge.

+ -1 moreA Ameri-tech were very responsive and sent a technician the same day I made the call on 12/1/2008. The technician found the problem quickly, but did not have a replacement part on hand. The part was ordered and the repair was completed the very next day 12/2/2008.
